Chapter 101: 101. Awake
Blackstorm pack,
Dana opened her eyes, her vision blurry and she blinked them. Opening tthem again, she looked at the white ceiling, at the lights that shone in the room and the chandelier that reflected the light.
She tried to move her hands but she failed on the first try. Clenching her fingers to gather some strength she lifted the hand and found an IV drip turd to her wrist. A small frown appeared on her face. The room she was in did not look like a hospital so why was there a drip on her?
She raised the other hand, there was nothing in it. Placing the hand on her belly, she says upright feeling her belly flat without her any bump. Her body shook in fear for the worst. She couldn’t lose her baby. Not after trying for so long.
Hurriedly, she linked Lazarus who was outside the room talking to an omega, telling her to make dinner and bring it for Dana. ’Lazarau!’ Dana called through the link, her voice was shaky and sounded weak.
Upon hearing her voice in his head, Lazarys paused his speech and glances at the door behind him. ’Dana?’ He asked.
Seeing his eyes glaze over, the omega bowed her head and left the alpha alone. Lazarus opened the door and walked inside and found Dana sitting on the bed with her face soaked in tears.
"My love," Lazarus called her. He sat beside her on the bed and cupped her face in his hands. He wiped off the tears from her cheeks and kissed her forehead
"Our baby..." Dana says holding his hands. She could not look him in the eyes because she did not feel worthy to do so anymore, not after losing their child.
"It’s fine, love," Lazarus said trying to ease her worry. To coax her to stop crying.
"He’s gone," Dana said between sobs. She then wrapped her hands around his waist preasing herself on him as if doing that will remove the pain and hole in her heart.
"I got him out," but lost one, Lazarus said the rest in his mind. Dana shook her head for two seconds before understanding what he said. She raised her head immediately to look at it. She blinked a couple of times and stared into his eyes. "He is safe under the nurses’ care," Lazarus informed her.
"Really?" She asked. Lazarus gave a nod of confirmation and she hugged him even tighter burying her face in his chest. "Thank you. Thank you so much for making sure he is okay." Dana had xomomwtely forgotten what Kora said about her having two babies.
"It was my responsibility to do so," Lazarus said. It was a good thing she didn’t know ow about the one tha couldn’t make it. It would have broken her. He had his arms around her with his closed. Internally thanking the goddess for keeping his mate with him and not taking her. "My responsibility to protect the both of you." Dana didn’t speak but she nodded her head that was resting on his chest. "I love you." She heard him say.
"I love you too," Dana replied before setting up. "Our baby, a boy or a girl?" she asked looking at him with curiosity.
"Will it matter to you which gender it is?" Lazarus asked her and she shook her head. He smiled and pecked her lips before saying, "He is a boy."
A bright smile appeared on her lips that instantly brightened her face erasing the sadness that was there just moments ago. Without any warning, she pounced on him and kissed him deeply which had him out of breath for a moment. He kissed her back and allowed her to dominate and he smiled against her lips. "I want to see him." She said after pulling away.

Darren sat on the bed beside the sleeping Kora, watching her face without blinking. He held a fist full of her hair in his hand feeling the softness of it. He looked at her face taking in every inch of it. Though he has seen her face countless times already, it felt like it was the first time that he was seeing her.
His eyes trailed from her forehead to her closed eyes, then to her small, straight, and pointed nose. From her cheeks to her little heart shape pink lips that looked so inviting.
His hand moved on its own and caress her lower lip. Not able to hold back the urge to kiss her, he leans forward and sealed her lips with his, sucking and nibbling on her lower lip. While his right hand rested on her waist.
Kora’s eyes fluttered open and the first thing that she felt was the spark coming from her lips and her waist. She didn’t need to think much to know who it was and it brought joy to her that he was there and was the first person whom she sees the moment she opened her eyes. Her lips moved to kiss him back and Darren froze for a second before pulling away and saw her eyes open and staring at him.
She smiled and he smiled back. "If I had known all it took was a kiss to wake you I would have done that a long time ago," Darren said before kissing her again.
"How long have I been asleep?" Kora asked as she tried to catch her breath. Darren looked at her face which was flushed, her hair dishevelled and spread on the pillow under her head.
"The whole day," Darren replied. Kora turned to look at the sky outside through the window and truly, it was dark outside with a crescent moon shining above them. "How do you feel?"
Kora took some time to examine her body and found nothing wrong. "I feel hungry." She said. And he smiled.
"I was told dinner has been prepared, let’s get you to the dining room, everyone should be there now," Darren said.
Kora nodded but instead of standing up, she moved closer to him. She placed her head on his chest and her hands around his waist. "I feel lazy."
"You overworked yourself," Darren said. He cradled her on his lap and let her rest in him. "Don’t do that again," he said in a slightly stern tone with worry laced in it. "Would you like your meal brought here for you?"
"No, let’s join them." She said. Taking a few more minutes, she stood up and combed through her hair with her fingers. She looked at what she was wearing and it was good enough. "Let’s go."
