Chapter 87: 87.Talking Wolf
A slow and small smile that only got wider appeared on the face of the vampire captain. He looked at the wolf in front of him with sparks in his eyes. His eyes trailed to the lycan that stood next to her and the smile faltered. He did have a feeling the Lycan alpha will be present but why was he standing so proactively of the little treasure he had come to claim?
"I was expecting you, Alpha Supreme," Caotuan Leroy said, standing straight he took a step forward from where he stood. "I am glad that I wasn’t disappointed."
Kora ignored all that was being spoken and tended to Dana while Lazarus held her in his arms. They did not know how they were able to get their hands on Dana or what has become of the women and children who were sent into hiding in the safehouse, the most important thing right now was saving the life of Dana. Lazarus didn’t care if the child was to die he wanted to keep his mate with him.
He needed a healer to be present and tend to her but healers were not shifters and it was risky for them to be present where there was a fight as dealers were rare to find. They were very few compared to the other creatures. Right now he can only hope and be grateful for Kora being present and helping in keeping her alive.
"I heard you want my mate," Darren said as he shifted back to his human skin. He didn’t have the time to talk but he wanted to buy time for Kora to fix Dana and then send her away, he wouldn’t want her to be caught off guard while still busy. "Why?"
"The lord wants her." Leroy answered, "And our little mystic friend over there." He snapped his fingers and more vampires joined them, outnumbering the shifters. An old witch came out from within the pack house and stood next to the vampire, Leroy. "Is it read?" He asked her.
"It is." the witch said and Leroy nodded his head. "Shall do it now?"
"Will it work?" Leroy asked. Looking at Darten and then at Kora. "It did in the last against the wolves, it is the lycan I am not sure of." The witch replied.
"Sounds good enough for me. begin the process." He said and smiled looking back at Darren.
If Dana was not in danger about to die any moment, they all knew that those wolves would not si silent and patient and they were giving all the time to make preparations. Darren glanced at Kora and saw that she was done, although she was in her beast form, she was still able to treat and stop Dana’s bleeding.
Lazarus picked Dcana up and places her on the back of Ezra’s wolf. "Take her away from here, I will cover you." Ezra turned around ready to leave.
As soon as Darren saw that Kora was no longer occupied, he attacked the nearest creature to home which was a vampire, and snapped its neck before ripping it off his body vampire’s body plopped on the ground making the vampire growl at him and charged at the alpha without waiting for the signal from the captain.
Darren grabbed the next one running his claws through his chest and pulling out his heart and squashing it. His actions serve as a go signal for the others as they also joined the fight.
Ezra in the opposite direction with Dana barely hanging on his back. Lazarus and Alpha Julio followed them and made sure no one was able to touch them until they were out of sight and they were sure that no one followed them before returning to the fight that was taking place in the lack house.
The vampires attacked Darren trying to kill him while they tried to capture Kora alive as she was only useful when still breathing.
Lazarus and Julio returned and met Zeke and Damon who had just arrived and joined the. Lazarus’ eyes were blazing red a color that rarely appeared in his eyes as his eyes were always dark, sometimes they seem lifeless like a bottomless abyss of darkness but rarely red. The color red in the eyes of Lazarus was something that made people believe to be why he was stronger than most alphas, especially after knowing the lycan and the color of his eyes.
Seeing the blood-red color of Lazarus even the other alphas were wise enough to maintain some distance away from him as Lazarus had given full control to his beast which goes to prove he angry he was.
His aura rolled out of him in waves that even Darren stopped for a moment to look at him. A smirk appeared on his lips after knowing who it was. He had tried to get Lazarus to this state in the past so he could get a good fight but he was not able to as it seems the man had truly caged the beast in him for good. Too bad he was not. It seems that all that was needed was to poke the right place and push the right buttons to get him there which Darren never did.
Lazarus attacked like the beast that he was without holding anything back and killing as many as he could in the shortest time possible. He attacked and killed the vampire and Abominations pushing forward as his sole target was their leader and the witches who had stepped back and let the other creatures do all the fighting while some of them help the older witch to prepare the potion.
Leroy was getting angrier by the second at the rate at which his vampires were dropping dead. He didn’t care if it were the Abominations, but the vampires... He attacked attacked and killed shifter who was to him while making sure they felt pain before they died. He was conscious of the fact that they were five alphas present and their shared strength was overwhelming.
And Lazarus losing to his beast was the least expected as he had not done that for decades. It did not cross his mind that Lazarus was like the ocean, calm on the surface with monsters deep within it.
He turned around sensing a presence behind him, he found Kora stalking I’m talking slow steps towards him while he took one back before stopping. He cracked his neck muscles and smiled at the wolf in front of him.
"I heard you came for me." The wolf spoke and Leroy’s eyes widened. The Wolf could talk!
