Chapter 86: 86. Wolfsbane
After Leroy finished talking, he stood still and watched the ahufyera around Jim with a smile. The witches and vampires behind him were ready to attack Lazarus and his gamma was to make move.
Lazarus did make a move nor did he say anything to the vampire who had come to take his mate and daughter from him. Kora may not have his blood flowing through her veins, but she was his daughter and, he has taken her that way. His face was blank and no one could tell what was going on in his mind. He tried to mind-link Dana but there seemed to be a barrier blocking him from getting through to her. He inwardly frowned at it.
"Do we have a deal?" Captain Leroy asked walking a step closer to Lazarus.
The pack warriors who were still alive near the pack house had all arrived and stood behind their alpha awaiting his command.
"What makes you think I will give in to your terms?" Lazarus asked and took a step towards Leroy, the Abominations growled at him, and the vampires’ eyes turned red in alertness. "Why would I give you my beloved pack members?"
"I thought you might need a little persuasion, Alpha Lazarus, so I come in time and had it prepared, just for you," Leroy said and looked at a witch behind him. "It’s just a little something of help you decided much quickly, as we know, time is of the essence."
Lazarus growled and so did everyone behind him. He knew they must have a hostage but who could it that be?
Alpha Julio of the Blackstorm pack arrived and was shocked to see the back house has been taken by the vampires. Lazarus and Leroy glanced at him, Leroy looked surprised to see another alpha but he did not think much about it. While Julio gave a nod to Lazarus.
"You don’t want any harm on you Luna and unborn child, your heir, do you alpha?" Leroy asked and giving the sweetest smile he could offer completely ignoring the unimportant alpha.
Someone came from behind and offered Lazarus a pair of pants which he took and wore before looking back at the vampire. "Where is my mate?"
"She is still alive if that is what you are worried about, alpha, but I can’t guarantee that she will if you refuse to cooperate," Lweoy said and looked behind him again where the witch had disappeared into the back house, he saw her coming back with the pack’s luna. "She is here alpha, so, what will it be? Your beloved mate or your beloved subjects?"
Dana was brought out of the pack house, she looked weak and he knew they had something to her, he could not feel the presence of her wolf and there was only one thing he could think of that they must have given to her, wolfsbane. He gritted his teeth at the thought. He walks towards her but Leroy quickly got her into his arms and places a claw on her neck.
"Lazarus," Dana called weakly. She had tried to reach him through the mind link but it had been futile attempts. She was worried for her baby, it had taken her so long to finally have a child, to give an heir to her mate but these vile creatures had fed her with wolfsbane affecting everything inside of her. She was not worried for herself right now but for the pup inside of her.
"You will be fine, my love," Lazarus said. His heart ached at the pitiful sight of his mate. Dana closed her eyes too tired to keep them open but he knew she heard him. "Let her go, Leroy."
" You know who I am?" Lory asked with a hint of surprise in his voice. I can not do that, you see. She is the bargaining chip." The werewolves growled and took predatory steps toward the vampire. "Give the mystic wolf to me, and the hybrid to me and we can leave. We will find some other time to visit the alpha supreme to borrow his mate. How about that?"
"Give her back to me and we can discuss it," Lazarus looked at Dana, his nose picking up the scent of blood from her and he searched her body to see where she was hurt with his eyes. He finally saw where she was bleeding and growled dangerously, his eyes changed and disappeared on his skin, and he half shifted.
Blood was rolling down her legs from her inner thighs and there was only one explanation for that, the child in he was not doing well. "You fed her wolfsbane," Lazarus stated. "How dare you?" Lazarus roared. He walked to take her back but he was stopped by the vampires and Abominations who came and stood. Between him and Leroy forming a barricade.
"I didn’t, alpha, it must have been one of them," Lwroy said and. Lazarus had. Never felt like snapping someone’s neck more than he felt right now.
A wall of fire appeared out of nowhere separating Dana and Leroy and vines came protruding from the ground binding the Abominations and some of the vampires and rendering them immobile taking everyone around by surprise. Lazarus was quick to move while everyone was still distracted and get a hold of Dana before she could fall to the ground.
Kora and Darren arrived. Darren glared at the vampire Leroy, for what he said. Darren had heard the words of the vampire while on their way here and he was not happy about any of it. While Kora walked over to where Lazarus was with Dana who was losing consciousness in his arms. See if the state of which Dana was, Kora snapped the necks of those she had retrained with the vines. The Wall of fire expanding and burning all it’s way.
Seeing the dead vampire and Abomimations, and the increasing fire, Leroy and his companions came back to their senses and moved away. The witches fought with the fire wall, pushing it back. After they has successfully extinguished the flame, they were able to see who the new entry were.
Before tjem was a lycan in all its glory and a baby-blue wolf with stripes on its back and a triangle on its head. Their ain’t need a genius to tell them that was the wolf they had come to pick up.
