Chapter 82: 82. An Abomination problem
"Would you look at that?" Ezra commented when he saw Darren pull Kora into a kiss. "I still can’t she found her mate before I did," he said and Levi chuckled
"It is easier for the females to find their mates than males," Levi said and Ezra hummed. "I haven’t found mine either."
"Are you going to go and have fun, or would you rather stand here, watching and gossiping?" Dana said as she and Lazarus walked over to them. Raven was missing from the group as he had taken Rosie away to find a quiet place for her to sit and rest and find something of her taste to eat. While Mateo left to hang out with some random wolf he had never seen before.
"Luna."
"Luna Dana."
Ezra and Levi said at the same time before looking at Lazarus, "Alpha Lazarus." They both said with a small bow. Lazarus nodded at them.
"What is so special that had you two standing here and gossiping about?" Dana asked. They both scratched the back of their heads, smiling awkwardly and not knowing what to say. "If you talking about Kora, try to make sure she doesn’t hear you gossip about her. She was pissed with the party, you don’t want her any more pissed than she already is." Dana said giving heads-up.
"Aren’t you here to tell us to stop talking about her?" Levi asked surprised that she was rather telling them to be careful instead of telling them to stop.
"Why would I? It is very hard to get something juicy to talk about when she is involved." Levi was speechless. He looked at Dana and then at Ezra who patted him on the shoulder and said, "You will get used to it."
Lazarus just stood beside his mate as her physical support and had no intention of joining in on their small gossip.
Back where Kora and Darren were, They had stopped dancing and left the dance floor and were headed to where the food was. The three elders came up to them while Kora was yet to decide what to eat.
"Alpha," They greeted and Darren turned to glare at them. "We are sorry to disturb you, Alpha, but we were waiting for the right moment to come and pay our respect to the future Luna." One of the elders said.
"And you thought now was the best time, why?" Darren asked in irritation. Could he get a moment with her without being disturbed by some unwanted individuals?
"Forgive our boldness, Alpha." the elder from the Blackstorm pack said. "We just wanted to meet with the two of you at once. It has been a while since we, the elders had spoken to the alpha and now that you have found your mate, we couldn’t think of any better opportunity to come over and discuss a thing or two with you."
Kora looked at Darren and she nodded her head when their gazes locked on each other. "Go ahead and speak," Darren said when he got the approval from Kora. If she didn’t mind then there was no reason for him to be against it.
But before they could start talking, Kora’s vision went blurry and her eyes went blank for a moment. When her vision became clear again, there was a look of worry on her face and panic in her eyes. Darren saw it and he hushed the elders at once.
"Are you okay?" He asked her.
Kora shook her head. "I am fine, but everyone won’t be in a few minutes." She said and started looking around the hall. "We need to find Lazarus, now." She said and walked away from there leaving behind the food on her plate.
Darren and the three elders did not understand a thing that was happening but they follow her nonetheless. ’ALPHA!’ Kora yelled through the mind link.
’What is the problem, Kora?’ Lazarus asked. He also turned to look for where she was and when he found her, he stopped to face her as she walked over to him hurriedly. "What is it?"
"There is a problem," She said and everyone who was nearby who heard her stopped and turned to look at her. Lazarus’ brows Farrowed and did Dana’s. "An Abomination problem," Kora said, her expression turning graver by the moment.
"How long?" Asked Lazarus.
"Ten minutes from now." She answered. "People will die, a lot." She said and turned to Darren who was right behind her. "Please help keep the pack safe."
"I will do what I can." He promised her. Kora nodes and turned to look at everyone inside the pack house.
"F*ck*n bastards." Ezra cursed. The elder and the guests of the pack did not know what was going on and they seem lost at what was happening. They all heard what she said but it did not make any sense.
Lazarus had ordered that the music stop bringing the party to an end without the cake being cut. The pack warriors came into the pack house. Once the guests saw the warriors inside they thought that the Blood Moon pack was up to something. They started hauling insults at the Blood Moon pack and its members.
A fight was about to start when Lazarus stepped out in front of everyone to address the situation. He did not have the time to settle a fight when there was an attack on his pack
"The pack is under attack, the Abominations have bridged the pack’s border and are heading this way. I will like all of you to cooperate with us and get to safety." He said and stepped down immediately walking to where Dana was, he took her hand and led her away from the crowd who no longer want to tear him and his pack to shreds. As they walked, they met Raven and Rosie on the way and he handed Dana to them. "Take your Luna to safety. Make sure nothing happens to her."
"Understood Alpha," Raven said and took Dana’s hand.
"Lazarus," Dana called when he was about to go in a different direction. "Be careful and, don’t die," she said knowing how uncertain one’s fate was in a battle.
