Chapter 83: 83. They have surrounded the pack

Kora and Darren had left the group of people and climbed upstairs. Kora wanted to change out of the dress and into something much more comfortable and free. She walked inside and into her closet while Darren sat on the bed and waited. He did not plan to leave alone, not when there was an Abomination attack.

After a few minutes, Kora stepped out of the closet wearing black shorts and a white tank top. "Are you ready?" Darren asked standing up and walking over to where she was. His eyes trailed down to her exposed legs before looking back at her face.

"I am," Kora replied and stopped to look at him. "Sorry, I didn’t have time to explain anything to you." She said Darren came forward and she held her waist with one hand and the other cupping her face. "There is still time. We will talk after all of this is over."

’"Okay." Kora said with a nod of the head. "We have to go, they are almost here." Before she could turn to where the door was, Darren’s lips crashed on hers catching her off guard. She was stiff for a moment before relaxing and kissing him back.

"Stay close to me," Darren said after breaking away from the kiss. "I don’t you far from me." He said looking deep into her eyes. "I will," Kora replied. She walked over to the bedside drawer and picked up a pair of daggers from inside. "I am ready."

They both left the room and came outside, the pack house and the houses around it looked deserted except for some who were still moving around to find where to hide. The Warriors had moved and were gathered near the bother and taken their positions. Hiding where they could, to avoid being seen at first glance.

Though there wasn’t much time to prepare, they had the home-ground advantage

They knew where to go, where to hide and where to best corner and direct their enemies especially if that enemy is a brainless and mindless Abomination.

Kora and Darren got to where Lazarus was with his beta and gamma. Levi and Mateo were also there. And the other three alphas were also present. Although they did not want to get involved, they had no other choice but to help, they were present in the park when it happened. It would not be nice of them to walk away like that especially since the alpha supreme and his Luna were here and ready to help.

"Where is Dana?" Kora asked when she came to stand next to Lazarus and Darren by her side. Lazarus was standing out in the open, while everyone else was hiding somewhere close while awaiting his signal.

"She is somewhere safe," replied Lazarus. But Kora didn’t feel that was the case. She was worried. In her vision, she had tried to spot Dana but she couldn’t and that had gotten her worried. "I won’t let them get past us to lay their hands on her." Kora nodded. It was the best way to make sure Dana was not hurt. "Join the others, you don’t have to stay here."

"We only have a minute left, There is no point in doing so and I don’t want to go," Kora said and showed him a pair of silver daggers, "You don’t mind me using this do you?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Lazarus looked at what she was showing him and he nodded his head. "They are yours, do what you want to do with them." He then looked at Darren, "Thank you." he said and Darren gave him a nod and said nothing more.

After ten seconds passed, Darren spoke. "They are here." listening closer to the steps that were still off the earshot of the others, he spoke again, "Give the signal, have them ready, they are many." He opened his eyes and looked at Kora as if telling her to not leave his sight.

Lazarus gave a nod to him and opened the mind link, he started giving the necessary commands to the various individuals he had placed as heads of the different groups who would then relay the message to others.

In a matter of seconds, the creature could be seen heading towards them at a fast pace. "They have surrounded the pack," Darren said a frown forming on his face.

’Alpha,’ Ezra called through the link, ’I don’t think we can go with the planned strategy anymore. There is no blank spot and these Abominations don’t look like they usually...’

’I know.’ Lazarus said cutting him short before he could continue. ’Hold your ground, kill as many as you can and try to stay alive.’ Lazarus said linking everyone on the battlefield at once. Lazarus now remembered when Kora said that many would die. They have been surrounded and one could only wonder where they got so many Abominations from.

The creatures had reached them and attacked immediately without a second to breathe. Their stench was even worse than it used to be and there seem to be some black smoke that came out of their mouths each time they opened it. And their claws had the same smoke oozing out of the tips whenever they were elongated.

Lazarus was quick to shift onto his beast ski and counterattack, attacking the one that was coming straight at im.

Darren also shifted into his lycan while Kora strengthened her grip on the daggers in her hands. Her hair and eyes started glowing illuminating the slightly darkened place and the air around her changed. Her eyes had the colour of her wolf’s eyes, green on one and red on the other.

The sound of multiple bones snapping at once could be heard indicating that the warriors who had been in hiding were shifting as the fight had come upon them.

Darren launched at the closest creature to him nearly ripping its hand off but the creature was quick to dodge only having half of its arm torn open but it did not stop as if it could not feel any pain. Darren growled at the creature which growled back at him, his eyes looked at Darren’s hand which had its blood dripping off it and another growl was heard before they attacked each other again.

To where Kora stood, although Darren and Lazarus had taken the first ones that came their way, she was still a target and from the way the creatures fought, it was obvious that she was their main target. She gripped the hilt of the dagger before going head-on with one of the creatures.

She swung her hand and the sharp-edged blade grazed its skin leaving a burn on it and it let out a growl. The creature’s fangs emerged from its mouth and black smoke came out of its mouth obstructing her vision and it swung its claws at her.
