Chapter 81: 81. Have a little patience
Darren stood up and watched all that was raking place, as much as he wanted to go over and take her into his arms, he refrained from doing so. Letting her have her moment.
He kept his eyes on her, on every step that she took and when she turned around and met his gaze and he was able to have a complete view of her face, Darren swallowed. She was perfection. Everything that about her was perfect. From her hair, to her make up, to that red dress that left her back bare fir the eyes to feast on and the way it accentuated her curves. It all drove him mad making him want to hide her away from everyone else.
A frown appeared on his fave each time a male goes near to congratulate and wish her happy buryhday, his only solace was the fact that Lazarus was standing next to her and he knew that no one would try something stupid.
He saw as the three alphas walked up to her giving pretentious smiles and trying to impress her and to get on her good books. Darren felt like going over and snapling their heads off. They could pretend to like all they want and he would not give a f*ck about. Buy damn him if they were ri do that with her and lived to see the next day.
Just when he was about to go down and go over to them, he noticed her blank and expressionless face when faced with their ’charming’ smiles and he stopped and stood still to watch. He listened to their conversation and her voice sounded dead and distant. A proud smile appeared on his face, his mate was one of a kind.
When the time for the dance came, Lazarusled her to the dance floor. Darren brows narrowed upon seeing that. He walked over to where the drunks were placed and took hold of a bottle of whisky, pulling its cap open, he gulped it down with making use if a glass. He needed sometjingyo distract him from going over and a shoving Lazarus aside fir putting his hands around his mate and alcohol was the best available option at the moment even though it is useless on him.
"Don’t you want to dance with her?" he heard the voice if the pack’s luna behind him. Darren turned around and looked at lazadus’s pregnant mate. "You should go to her."
"She seems occupied right now." He said and rook another gulp from the bottle. "I have all for myself later, so I’ll let you all have enjoy your time with her." He looked at her humour belly and a thought flashed through his and he quickly pushed it out of his mind.
"Dance with me then." Dana proposed. Darren looked at her as if he didn’t hear her clearly but they both knew that he did. Being a lycan and all, his hearing was better than regular wolves. "You and I aren’t familiar with each, hllwhy don’t we get to know each even if its just for a few minutes."
Darren looked in the direction where Kora and Lazarus and then agreed. "Alright." He dropped the bottle he was holding and took her and led her to the dance floor. He place one hand on her waist and the other holding her hand. "What do you may to know?"
"Did you know she, Kora, was your mate before now?" Dana asked. Right from the first time that Darrem and Kora had met he was different when ever she was the turbine with and his behaviour around turns soft intentionally or maybe unintentionally but that was what happens.
"I had a feeling." Darren replied looking at the woman in his arms, she looked fragile with her huge baby bump. "I hoped she was."
"And now?" Dana asked after hearing that he had hoped she would be his mate.
"I am grateful to Selene for giving her do me." After making wait fir for so long when she knows that I need her. Darren said and completed the last line in his head.
"Do promise to take care of her? To love? Kora may seem like a cold pile of rock on the surface, but she cares a lot about the people she loves. I didn’t want her hurt, Alpha supreme."
" I won’t hurt if that is what you are worried about." Darren said, looking into her yees. "I won’t let anyone hurt her."
"Thank you." Dana said and gave a small smile. "I will miss her."
"You can always come by the Shadiw Moon pack to see her, Luna Dana." Darren said. And she looked at him in surprise. "You have been mother to her, it would be wrong to let you visit her." He said and she smiled at him. "She is my mate not a slave."
"I am glad to hear that." Dana said and she cake do a stop. Darren looked behind her and as that were now standing next Lazarus and Kora. "I think it is time you talked to her. It is her birthday after all." The then mind linked Lazarus, ’Mate?’ she said and turned to his directuon.
’I am here.’ Lazarus replied.
He looked at Kora, "I think it is time you danced with your mate." He said and stopped moving along with her. Kora glanced at where Darrrn stood with Dana beside him and they both walked over to them. Lazarus shook hands with Darren and said, "I am handing her to you now, take care of her."
Dana and Lazarus left them alone to another side of the huge hall, the people made apace for them in the middle. Darren looked at Kora and was lost for a moment. He looked unto her eyes and couldn’t pull away and he didn’t want to either. "Happy birthday again." Darren said extending his hand to her to take.
Kora place her hand on his and he took it in a girl hold. The sparks of the mate bond running through their bodies. "Thank you, again."
Darren pulled her cliser, placing his hand on her back that was bare, he felt how smooth it was under his rough and large palm. "You are beautiful." He comolemented her. . "I want to take away from here."
"Then let’s do it," Kora said, her hands wrapped around his neck. "I ain’t want to he here anyway."
"Have a little patience, love, we have all the time in the world." Darren said, slowly caressing her back. Though he said they had all the time in the world, his actions told of how much he wanted her under him and Kora did not protest rather she realized the moment and the though if her mate wanting her excited her as well.
"When are you leaving?" Kora asked she wanted to be sure that he was not leaving but she did find it necessary to ask directly although he wouldn’t mind.
"When eve you are ready." Darren replied and lulled her even closer to him, their bodies touching each other with leaving any gap in between.
Kora looked at him and saw that his eyes seemed darker and she smiled. "You want me?" she asked and Darren hold around tightened.
"More than you can imagine. I want every inch of you." Darren said.
