Chapter 80: 80. Annoyed with everyone
Lazarus had now started to see the similarities between Kora and Darren. He didn’t see it before because he never paid close attention to Darren and had never compared their character with each other before.
"What do you think about the event and the number of people who gathered?" Lazarus rephrased his words.
"I think it is fitting," Darren said with pride in his voice. "She is meant above all, and this is a perfect example of it."
"I agree," Lazarus said, nodding his head. "Though I doubt she will agree with the fact she has become the center of attention." He said and Darren gave him a look. "Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t a soul out there that is as confident and fearless as her but she hates attention. She prefers being left alone and seems annoyed with anyone else who tries to get close to her."
"There is nothing special about anyone that she should like and be around them. They’re all better off being kept at arm’s length." Darren replied. "No matter where she is, whether she wants to be seen or not, she stands out."
"I want you to train her beast," Lazarus said it was something that has been on his mind. Kora is an expert and unstoppable when fighting in her human skin but she has no experience in her beast skin. They had no idea how fast or slow her beast was and therefore, they did not know what her weakness and strengths would be. It had to be trained. "I didn’t want her to be vulnerable to anyone."
"I will, you don’t have to worry about that," Darren said, his eyes strained at the people below. He could hear everyone as they spoke to each other, he could even see their figures although shadowy in his mind.
"Promise me you will take care of her," Lazarus said in a serious tone. His expression was stern and his eyes held an emotion that could only be seen in a father’s eyes towards his child. Darren immediately knew that he said that not because he doubted his capabilities, but he was just being a father to the girl whom he had raised since childhood.
"I won’t let anything happen to her, you have my word." Darren said, standing face to face with Lazarus. "Whatever it take to protect my Luna, alpha Lazarus,"
"Thank you." Lazarus said giving a all smile to him. "I am holding you on that."
After some time, the party started, Dana went into Kora’s room to get her. Everyone who had come to celebrate was now waiting to see the celebrant. All eyes moved towards the stairs as they descended.
Kora desceded the stairs escorted by Dana and Rosie who stood on tighter sites if her and Emily who walked behind them.
While everyone with her smiled, Kora had a straight face as if it was not her whom they have all come to celebrate. She did not bother smiling as her eyes scanned the people in front her. Seeing so many people, Kora wondered why there were so many people whom She did not know among the crowd. Her eyes searched through the crowd looking for one man.
Feeling someone’s gaze at her back, Kora turned around and the intocuvating dark chocolate scent blessed her nose. He stood a few distance away from the stairs which she has just descended wearing a suit. Kora’s attention was diverted when Lazarus came in between and constructed her view unintentionally.
He kissed his mate on tye cheek, gave a nod approval to Rosie and Emily before turning to fave Kora and offered her a smile.
"You look beautiful." he said to herand atretched his hand to her. Kora did not respond but shenplaced her hand on his.
He took her hand led her to the centre owhwre everyone could see her. He gave a brief introduction and Kora wondered why he been bothered doing thY when most of the people present knew her very well. ’The introduction was not necessary you know.’ Kora said through the mind link.
’It wouldn’t be if it were our pack that was present, my dear, but here we have different people from different packs who have come to know who you are. The mate if the Alpha supreme.’ Lazarus exolained to her and Kira listens while accepting the wishes of the pack members who have come to see her before she leaves the pack with her mate.
’So they are just people who had come curry favor.’ Kora said and she heard Lazarus chuckle.
’That is one to put it.’ Lazarus agreed.
’I don’t like insincere people.’ Said Kora.
’You will get used to it, sooner or later, it is what every leader faces, ’ Lazarus said while accepting a handhake from Alpha Damon who had now come up to them, to see and speak to the soon to be Luna supreme. ’As a leader you will meet many kinds if people, my dear, you will, the sincere, the insincere and those that don’t even care.’
’I believe that he know that there are different kinds of leaders too, those that will take shit and that won’t.’ Kora said and looked at the man that has come to stand in front of her. ’I won’t take shit.’
’I can tell.’ Lazarus could kit hold back the smile that appeared on his face after hearing her words. ’This is alpha Damon of Eclipse pack, one if the packs under the Alpha supreme.’ he informed her.
Kora looked at the alpha and shook his hand, he smiles while her face remained empty. "It is an honour to meet you." Alpha Damon said, the ole on his face not leaving.
Kora was quiet for a while and Lazadus could tell she was trying not to say something snarky to him that was why she took so long to reply. "It is nice meeting you too, Alpha Damon." She said with a straight face, her tone neutral.
Alpha Damon looked at the young wolf he was talking to, she seemed distant a donut of reach. Her appearance alone had him and many others wondering already and now her temperament added another layer of wider aid question to the list.
Seeing Damon with her and Lazarus, Alphas Zeke and Julio also cake forward. And just like with Alpha Damon, Lazarusintroduced them to her through the mind link.
"Why do I feel like she wants everyone in here to disappear?" Levi, who was standing next to Ezra asked. They stood a corner and watched the whole thing that was happening. There have never been a smile on her face since she stepped into the room.
"Probably because she does." Ezra replied. "At least we get to see her trying not to be rude and kicking people out because she found them annoying."
"She is probably not doing that because of Lazarus who is standing beside her." Raven said, joining the conversation. Rosie stood beside with her eyes on Kora just like the rest of them. "I will kick them out too if I were her."
"Yeah, thay is true." Ezra agreed and to the two things that he said.
"Is she always like this? Annoyed with everything." Mateo asked. Ezra and Rosie missed their heads at his question. "She is interesting then." He said and smiled. His eyes moved up to where Darren stood and watching the whole event happening and he wondered why he hadn’t coke down to her yet.
