Chapter 79: 79. Don’t trip
The time for the party to start was near, many people from the pack and some others who had caught wind of the fact that the celebrant was the Alpha supreme’s mate, had come from the near packs to the Blood Moon pack to see who the future Luna supreme would be.
They found it ironic because of all the packs, it was only the Blood Moon pack that was not under the Alpha supreme’s rule, yet it was where their Luna supreme came from.
As the people continued to match unto the pack house, Appetizers were served though the number of people present had exceeded what they had expected, the cooks in the kitchen and the maids in the pack house had prepared enough and we’re still making preparations for more.
Lazarus returned with Darren and was accompanied by the alphas of the Eclipse pack, Black Storm pack and Crystal Lake pack. They had come to know of Alpha’s mate during the period the afternoon when Darren and Lazarus had gone to complete their mission the previous day.
Along with them were three elders, one from each pack.
While the guests arrived and settled on the ground floor of the manor where the party will be taking place, Kora was upstairs in her bedroom getting dressed. There was a deep frown on her face for having to wear a dress, she didn’t like wearing dresses as she found them restrictive. She stopped wearing those even before she turned and now they were putting on a dress.
"It’s too long," Kora complained, she looked at the dress and turned around, she tried to walk some steps forward. "And too tight on the hips."
"You have an amazing shape, Kora." Emily complimented, completely ignoring her complaints. "I knew a red dress will suit you more."
"I can’t even walk," Kora said, looking at her reflection in the mirror.
"What do you call what you are doing if it’s not walking?" Emily asks, raising her eyebrows at Kora. Rosie stood aside and watched their banter while trying to hold back her laughter. "No, come and take a seat, it’s time to fix your hair and makeup," Emily ordered. She turned behind Kora and lightly pushed her to the dressing table. "I will fix your hair and Rosie will fix your makeup since she is better at it than I am."
With no other choice, Kora sat in front of the table and let them do whatever they wanted to her face and hair. It took about twenty minutes before they stepped away from her and showed her the mirror to take a look at her reflection. "What do you think?" Dana asked while Emily cleaned the sweat on her forehead with the back of her hand.
Kora looked in the mirror and she had to say, the makeup looked good on her, it was light and highlighted the right place on her face. They had given her a smoky eyeshadow which made her eyes stand out. On her lips was a light red matt lipstick to go with the dress. They had put some gold earrings on her ears and a gold pendant necklace around her neck. The overall look was simple and delicate.
Don’t you dare complain about it, Kora, that was a lot of work," Emily warned.
In response to it, Kora kept quiet and didn’t utter a word. And they knew she was going to complain had Emiky not told her not to dare.
"Put these on," Rosie said and handed her a shoe box. Kora frowned but she still took the shoe box from her. Opening the box, she saw a pair of black stilettos inside.
"I can’t even walk properly with the dress, am I supposed to walk on these too?" Kora asked staring at the shoes. She was beautiful and so was everything that Rosie and Emily did but she didn’t feel like it was her.
She looked at her reflection again in the mirror, The off shoulder maroon dress was beautiful, accentuating the curves of her body. The mermaid dress was body-fitting and flayed from her knees down. Her curly hair was styled and adorned beautifully.
"Do you like the look or not? " Emily asked.
"I feel you never hear a thing I say," Kora said and Emily nodded her head with reluctance.
"I don’t listen because you only know how to complain about everything." Replied, Emily. " Wear shoes and walk it will be better than walking without them. And while walking try not to trip, it is your big day after all." Emily advised. ." I will go and get ready too."
" I will do that too, Raven must be waiting for me," Rosie said and left the room with Emily leaving Kora inside alone. After being left alone, Kora looked in the mirror and wondered if Darren will like her look tonight.
She put the shoes in and stood on her feet to take a proper look at herself. She did not need to worry as the only people who will be in attendance will only be the pack members, people whom she was familiar with and a few extras, Darren whom she was more than okay with and his beta and gamma. Kora said to herself.
Outside the room where Kora was, Lazarushad changed his clothes and now wore a suit. Standing beside him was Dana who was in a simple pitch-coloured dress that stopped at her knees. They both stood on the second floor and looked down at the unexpected crowd.
Not long after they stood, Darren walked out of the guest room where he was staying and joined them, he also wore a black suit with a white inner shirt which he left the first two buttons open. He looked at the couple before standing next to Lazarus by his right hand.
He looked at the packed house filled with people who had come to celebrate his mate. Some with genuine happiness for her and some who just came to see her upon hearing that she was his mate.
Dana excused herself and left the two men as she could sense that they wanted to talk and the thought to give them some space.
"What do you think," Lazarus asked. Looking at the crowd below them.
"That we shouldn’t let our guard down even now," Darren replied in a flat tone. And Laarus noticed how he and Kora are similar when it came to answering a question and talking. Instead of seeing the good in a situation, they see the bad and throw it at you without caring about what happens next because of it.
