Chapter 71: 71. The Blood Moon Pack
Kora couldn’t believe what happened, how could anyone be so heartless as to wipe out an entire pack? Kora continued searching the pack but there was no breathing soul anywhere.
Walking to the cave, she realized that someone was missing. The girl with blue hair. She had only seen her brother being killed but not the girl and she was not having the children lying near the cave.
Remembering that the alpha had asked that the pups be taken to safety, she sought out the safe room. She was already familiar with the safe in the Blood Moon pack and wondered if it was the same when the pack was still known as the Silver Mystery pack.
Finding the safe room, the door was locked and sealed from within to prevent anyone from entering but she could see smoke coming from inside and she panicked. People might not be able to enter, but that did not mean a spell could not.
Walking through the closed door, Kira scanned the room with her eyes but there was no one inside the room. She did not know whether to be happy or not as she could not tell what happened to them.
Kora walked around the room, trying to see through the thick smoke that obstructed her vision. She walked all around but was still unable to find anything that would tell her that someone had survived. Just as she was about to lose hope, she saw a little light penetrating through a small hole in the wall.
Walking to where the light came from, she found a secret door built like a wall. She tried to push the door but ended up going through it. She found herself standing I’m tunnel that could fit only one person or two at most. For many people to go through the funnel, they have to walk in a straight line following each other. Kora wasted no time in forward.
She followed the tunnel until she came to see an opening after walking for several minutes. The place she found herself was also very familiar to her. It was the place she spent the first years of her childhood. Her father’s pack. The Silver Moon pack. Although it looked different, the difference was understandable, due to time.
The place brought back memories of when she was with her parents, together. Koramissed those days but there was nothing that she could do to bring them back as they were already gone a long time ago.
Kora shifted her attention back to the things that were happening now. She walked ahead and stepped into the pack where she found the children, pregnant women, and the old shifters who could no longer fight and had joined the escape. They were heading for the pack house of the Silver Moon pack.
They all seem to be in pain which she could understand to be a result of losing their mates and loved ones. The bone is broken due to death would cause pain to the living relative of the one who died. The snapping of a mate bond caused even more pain than that of a family bond. The pregnant women were merely holding on and moving ahead probably for the sake of the pups that they were carrying. That was the only thing that was helping them to fight to live. Kora also saw the girl, the last survivor of the mystic wolves trying to blend in among the other pups.
After a meeting was conducted with the alpha of the pack, the people from the Silver Mystery pack were accepted and became members of the Silver Moon pack.
Time flashed forward, and years went by in a blink of an eye. The next thing that Kora noticed was the children who had come to settle in the Silver Moon pack who were all grown-up and moving back to their land and territory. They even changed the name of the pack, From Silver Mystery pack to the Blood Moon pack which Kora was well acquainted with.
But Calista, the Mystic wolf did not move back with them. They thought it would be better if she stayed away from the pack to kit draw the attention of the vampires and witches to the pack. Moving in and taking the pack would surely draw attention and they also knew that the vampires and power-hungry witches will have their eyes on the pack to see what was happening and to monitor any suspicious events.
Luckily for them, the Silver Moon pack agreed to keep her and help hide her identity as a mystic wolf. Although it restricted her movement, seizing her freedom to walk around freely, it was still better than dying because of her identity.
Calista was mated to a male from the pack and had two pups, a boy and a girl who surprisingly were not like their mother, they were both l normal shifters like their father.
After Calista died, the mystic wolves seized to exist. It was painful both to the Silver Mystery pack which was now known as the Blood Moon pack, and to the Silver Moon pack. Calista was one of them and she stood out among the crowd. The two packs mourned her death, they took her body back to the Blood Moon pack and buried her there.
Her children stayed in the Silver Moon pack which was their father’s pack. They grew up and were mated to male and female shifters in the pack the family increased in numbers.
As time went by Kora didn’t know how long it had been since the destruction of the. Silver Mystery pack. Time sped forward and she saw her mother, Hazel, was born. She watched as she grew up and was and met her father who was her mate and they had their daughter, Kora. Kora gaped when she saw herself as a baby. The beautiful smile on her mother’s face when she held her was something that Kora had always missed. She looked at her parents and felt lonely knowing they were no longer with her. She did not even get the chance to tell her father goodbye.
In all, she was happy to have had to chance to see her parents again even if she could touch, or talk to them and they could see her, she was content with just seeing them and their smiles again.
Kora felt dizzy as everything around her started to spin and she fell unconscious. The next time she opened her eyes, she was inside her bedroom in the Blood Koon pack.
