Chapter 63: 63. Still looking for answers

Arriving at the pack house, Raven parks the car. He turns to look at Rosie who looks so surprised her mouth hangs open. When she imagined a pack, she thought it would be located in some remote area with little or no houses at all. But what was in front of them was a manor which was called a packed house, or so Raven said.

The whole pack was like a city, right in human sight but no one suspects, that the people who lived in the city were not humans. She found it fascinating.

"Ready?" Raven asked and she bobs her head. "Let’s go then."

Stepping out of the car, they came face-to-face with Ezra who had just walked through the door, sensing Raven in the pack. "is this her?" He asked walking over to them, he stood facing Rosie, not sparing Raven a glance.

"Shouldn’t it be, welcome back?" Raven questioned with a frown on his face.

"The last time I checked, questions should be given a proper answer and not replied to with another question," Ezra said, giving a side glance at Raven before ignoring him again. He looked at the woman who will be the beta female of the Blood Moon Pack. He couldn’t help but point out the glaring differences in the couple’s personalities and characters in his mind. "I am Ezra," he said, stretching his hand to her for a handshake. "The gamma of the pack."

"I am..." Before Risue could introduce herself Raven took her hand and led her inside leaving Ezra pursing his lips at the beta’s rudeness.

"Keep your hands to yourself," Raven said before disappearing through the door.

"Possessive much," Ezra said loud for them to hear before following them inside. Rosie heard him and she blushed. She has wanted to apologize to him thinking he would take offence at Raven’s actions, but after hearing what he said, she could tell he was not mad, or rather he seemed used to Raven’s attitude, she guessed they were close. "Won’t you introduce her? You don’t want me tochingbjer or talk to her, but won’t even introduce her?" Ezra said standing next to Raven in the living room.

"Where is alpha?" Raven asked instead of answering Ezra’s question.

"Why I do feel like I am seeking attention wherein am not wanted?" Ezra said. Rosie smiles at him, while Raven glared at him. "He is in the office," Ezra answered glaring back at him.

"I will be right back," Raven said to Rosie and then to Ezra, "Keep her company."

"Make it quick, I will leave for an assignment soon." He said before Raven walked away heading for the stairs to where the alpha’s office was. "Come, have a seat a wait, they’ll be here soon."

Rosie followed him and sat where he showed her. "I am Rosie Spears." Rosie introduced herself. "It is nice meeting you." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

"Likewise, Miss Spears," Ezra replied. His gaze moved up towards the stairs feeling someone’s presence. Rosie saw him looking up and did the same. There she saw a woman walking down with a ten-year-old girl beside her. What caught her attention was the girl, her hair and eyes, they were unique.

"Good morning, Luna," Ezra said standing up to his feet. "And you too, Kora."

"Morning Ezra," Dana said, looking past him she saw the woman who stood up along with Ezra. "Who is...?

"Oh, it’s you," Kora said, cutting Dana mid-sentence." Welcome to the pack, Rosie." She said, Rosie smiled but then she realized that the girl knew her name even though she hadn’t introduced herself yet. Kira ran to Ezra, "You are a terrible host."

Hearing Kora’s words, Dana beamed, she walked up to Rosie and hugged her. "Welcome to the pack."

"Thank you," Rosie responded, while stiffly hugging her back.

"How I am a bad host?" Ezra asked not letting go of Kora’s statement.

"She is your superior and you can’t even show her around," Kora said with a tsk at the end of her word. Ezrawas lost for words. How was he supposed to show her around when her mate made it clear that he shouldn’t touch or talk to her? What kind of tour guide doesn’t communicate with the tourist? "Anyway, I am off to school, Emily must be waiting for me." She said walking away from the group. ’Dana, could tell Lazarus that I am gone?"

"Okay, I will, have fun in school," Dana said with a nod of her head.

"There is nothing fun at school," Koa said opening and closing the door after she walked out.

"That girl should learn some manners," Ezra said, still offended by what she said. "And you, Luna, you are not helping her learn them."

"Shouldn’t you be off to an errand, gamma?" Dana asked, folding her hands across her chest. "If you are worried about Rosie being left alone, don’t worry I will stay with her."

"Fine, I’ll go." He said turning around to leave the two women alone. "I will see you later, Rosie."

After Ezra left, Dana turned her attention back to Rosie who looked like she had many questions to ask but she was refraining from doing so. "You have something to ask?" she said taking Rosie’s and in jers and leading her back to the couch to sit. "You can go ahead and ask what you want to know."

Rosie was grateful that the people I’m the pack house were friendly though she wondered if they would have been the same if she had not come with Raven. "The little girl, she said I was his superior...? Rosie trailed off.

Catching up on what she meant to ask, Dana, smiled at her. "Yes, you are," Dana said looking fondly at the human. "As the beta’s mate, you are superior to the gamma." The girl blinked in confusion and Dana Chuckled." Why don’t you ask Raven when he is done? That way, you will have more to talk about."

"Okay, I will do that," Rosie said gratefully.

Inside the office, Raven sat opposite Lazarus with a frown on his face. While Lazarus seemed relaxed. "You just got back only to wear a frown again?"

"It wouldn’t be like this if you had called me and told me that they were trouble here." Raven countered. "Why didn’t you tell me?"

"Would you have left whatever it was that held you up at your mate’s to come here just because of three trespassers?" Lazarus asked, leaning his back against the chair." It was taken care of as quickly as it came, you have nothing to worry about."

"I find it hard to believe, Lazarus, they have never been so close unnoticed before," Raven said calming down after what Lazarus had said. It was true that he was held up there and didn’t want to leave her when he knew that something was up and wrong where she was. "How did they come so close?"

Lazarus stood up and walked towards the window and stared outside through the open curtains. "Darren said that witches were involve, helped them to camouflage themselves so they could get in without being detected by wolves."

"The alpha supreme? He was here? Why?" Raven asked not getting why the guy would suddenly visit the pack.

"Kora." Lazarus replied, he tucked his hands into his pockets. ’He came to wish her a happy birthday."

Raven frowned, still it getting it. "He all the way here just wish a girl, happy birthday! Isn’t that ridiculous?"

"To you maybe, but not to them. I feel like they are connected in some way that even they don’t know yet. And I am going to find out.* Lzadus said and turning to face Raven, "Don’t forget that we still don’t know how Kora ended up in the Silver moon pack when she was suppose to come from here."
