Chapter 61: 61. More useful than an Abomination

In the vampire territory

"They haven’t returned, my lord." Captain Leroy said to his leader. He was standing with his head bowed and his hand behind his back facing the back of a chair.

"Where were they caught?" the man sitting behind the chair asked.

"I can not say, my lord. The witches said that they can no longer feel them in this world." Replied, captain Leroy.

"That’s a pity." The man said, still not turning around to face Leroy. "Find out what happened to them. If they are captured, find the and kill them before they let out any information."

"Yes, my lord." He answered. Turning around, he left the room and shut the door behind him.

Captain Lorey, stepped out of the villa he was in and got into a car, he drove away while making a call. "Send people to the Blood moon pack, find out what happened this afternoon. If they are dead, do away with their bodies, and if they have betrayed..." He paused and took a turn to the left, "kill them before they give any information." He said to the person on the phone.

"What if they were captured, Captain?" the other man asked.

"Kill them," Leroy said with an emotionless tone. "If they could get caught after everything that was done, then they are reckless and useless, undeserving to live."

"Understood, Captain."

With that, the call was disconnected and Leroy drove into a narrow road leading towards the woods. Driving for some minutes and at a certain distance, he stopped the car when he knew he was out of human sight. Stepping out of the car, he closed the door and licked the car before walking into the woods until he got to a place with a restricted sign on it and walked inside.

Walking for about fifteen more minutes, he arrived at an old mansion that one would think of and label as abandoned but the vampires used it as a base. Humans would think twice before walking into a place like this. Which was what made it perfect for use. If any human was foolish enough to walk in there, they would blame themselves for not walking out of there again.

"Captain." Two vampire guards who stood by the door greeted him before opening the door to enter.

"Where are they?" Leroy asked the guards.

"They are both inside the drill chamber." answered one of the guards.

"Good." Captain Leroy said before walking inside. He walked into the mansion, and the further he walked the darker it became as if there were no windows. Taking a right turn, he continued to walk until he came to the last door in the corridor. He stood and stared at the door for a couple of seconds before turning the knob and walking inside the dark room that looked like all the lights had been shut out and forbidden to penetrate the room.

The room smelt of sweat and dirt with blood in the air. His eyes turned bright red as he scanned the room and found what he was looking for.

A smile that did not reach his eyes appeared on his lips as he walked over to them. "Tell me, what should I do to you both?" He asked standing in front of Collins and Sebastian whose hands were tied with chains and suspended in the air. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Captain Leroy," Sebastian called thinking he has seen his savior.

"Indeed, it is I," He said in a sing-song voice. "I asked a question, what should I do with you?"

"I am sorry captain," Collins said from the side. Leroy looked at him and he chuckled suddenly.

"You caused us a great loss," He said walking over to where Collins was. "What should be your punishment?"

"..."

Collins was silent, not knowing how he was to decide how he should be punished. "You have no answer," Leroy said, rubbing his chin. "Do you two know how the abominations come into existence?" he asked.

It didn’t take more than two seconds for them to understand where he was heading. "Captain, please, we beg of you, don’t do this to us," Collins said as he was the fastest to understand what he meant.

"Why not? You will be more useful that way." Leroy said with a straight face. "The lord was pissed today," he informed them. "Not at you two, but you are related to it."

"We can’t understand you, captain," Sebastian said looking at the vampire with a puzzled look.

"If you had succeeded, we wouldn’t have had to send others to do the job that you failed and we wouldn’t have wasted so many resources on three nincompoops that also ended up failing."

Collins and Sebastian frowned barely understanding how it was their fault that someone failed a mission. Right now, it is more like the lord and captain are looking for innocent souls to vent their anger on, and who could be a better fit than the two failed squad leaders who caused them a great loss?

"We can prove more useful this way than as Abominations," Collins said, trying to keep his life and stay sane. He didn’t know how those things were made or how they even started and came into existence but he knew that he didn’t want to be like them. He had encountered a few over the years and those things didn’t look like they had control over themselves at all. It was as if they had lost their minds and souls and all that was left was the body that could be easily manipulated by the spell casters to do their bidding.

In the past, he never understood how those things worked. But after becoming a rogue and living with the vampires, the creatures he once loathed, he had come to know that the smelly things known as Abominations, were all rogue shifters who were turned and made that way by witches.

"Is that so?" Leroy said, looking interested in what he had to offer. "May I know how you can be more useful to the lord like this than as an obedient and loyal Abomination?"

Collins and Sebastian exchanged gazes with each other before glimpsing back at the Captain, Leroy. Sebastian smirked and said, "You won’t regret giving us this chance."
