Chapter 60: 60. His mate and woman
Rosie looked at the beast in her room with shock and surprise, but as surprising as it was, she was not afraid of it. She was rather awed by the beast.
She had never for once imagined the existence of a shifter to be real. As much as she believed in ghosts, and the like, vampires and werewolves were not on the list. But here was one, standing in front of her, and inside her bedroom.
Raven stared at her, studying her face closely, he was relieved that there was no fear in her eyes as she looked at him in his beast skin. He had anticipated the worse possible scenario, where she would scream and run trying to get away from him as far as possible, but none of that was happening and he was proud of her. He moved closer to her, to where she was seated at the edge of the bed, and stopped just a few inches away from her.
She stretched her hand, cautiously, to touch him. She wanted to feel his fur. Looking into the eyes of the beast, she saw no objection from him and she gained the courage to touch him.
The fur felt so soft against her palm, it was like nothing that she had ever felt. She also noticed that the spark that she felt before seemed to have intensified. After playing with his fur, she looked at him and asked, "Is this what you were talking about? Your explanation." She asked.
She heard the sound of bones snapping as Raven shifts back to his human skin. She looked away not wanting to see him without his clothes.
Raven looked at the girl who had turned her head to the other side, looking away from him with an amused look in his eyes. He walked over to where he had dropped his clothes earlier and picked them up. After dressing up again he said to her, "I am done now, you can look."
She looked back at him and was even more curious than a cat. "Yes, this was what I meant, to show you who I am," Raven said pulling a chair from beside the table in the room and sitting down and facing her. "Ask whatever you want to know, and I will answer."
"I want to know everything, how am I connected, related to all this? To you?" Rosie said. She sat straight on the bed looking at him and waiting for his answer.
"You are my mate," Raven answered. Rosie raised a brow at him. "You are mine, and I am yours."
"I don’t know what to say," Rosie said truthfully. "All this... this is just too much to take in."
"I am in no rush, Rosie, take your time, but not too long," Raven said and Rosie wondered why he was saying opposing words. " I can wait, but my wolf can’t. I will try to keep him under control, but I can not tell for how long."
Rosie found it hard to believe what she had heard from him. If her understanding serves her right, she was his mate, in other words, his woman, or to put it in the human term, his wife. "I know nothing about your kind."
Raven stretched his hand to her. "Would you like to know?" he asked waiting for her to take his hand. "You will know everything that there is to know." He said and still not dropping his hand.
Rosie stared at his outstretched hand without making a move for a while. She was not sure whether to take his hand or not. Everything that has happened since the beginning of the day until now had her on a rollercoaster. She just found out that werewolves and vampires exist and that she was tied to one, on the same night.
She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath before exhaling through her mouth. Looking back at the hand that was stretched out for her to take, she placed hers on it. She had decided to give it a try. Whatever the future holds, she would take it as it comes. "Okay." She said and Raven stood from the chair and walked over to the bed.
"I won’t hurt you, I promise you that." He said to her and pulled her up to her feet." I won’t let anyone hurt you." He circles his hand around her waist bringing her closer to him. "I will treat you right. As my mate and woman, I will love you."
Rosie seems in a daze hearing the words that he said to her. She didn’t even realize when his lips found hers in a kiss and only came to realization when she felt his warm pair on hers. She didn’t know what to do. This was her first kiss and she did not expect it to come at all but she did not push him away. She let sucked and nibble on her lip as much as he wanted without any objection.
Feeling the spark that traveled through her body sending a delicious sensation through her, she felt weak and leaned closer to him, much to his liking.
Raven pulled away and looked at her flushed face, though she did not return his kisses, he was glad that she did push him away. "I love you." He whispered into her ears.
If Rosie had not been told what he was, she would have doubted his words as it was impossible to tell someone whom you are just seeing that you love them and mean it. "You should rest now., Raven said to her. Stroking her cheek, she winces a bit and he paused, he then remembered that she was hurt earlier and scolded himself for forgetting something so important. "I am sorry," He pulled his and away.
"It’s getting late now, you should rest early," Raven said, looking at the bed behind her.
"I’ll take a quick bath first," she said stepping away from him. "I don’t feel comfortable in this." Pointing at her clothes.
"Okay," Raven said. "I will wait for you."
