Chapter 149: 149. Become one of the hunters

In the Vampire territory,

Leroy stood humbly before Lord Dmitri. He was finally left alone with his master because Cillia had something to take care of which he was not let know. But he was still grateful he was able to have some alone time to discuss with the lord at last. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

No matter how he tried in the past few days, he was unable to and for some reason, I d Dmitri wanted to be left alone with the witch he had guessed that something was going on between the two but it was not in his position to ask about it or get into the lord’s personal life.

"What is it, Leroy?" Lord Dmitri asked. He sat with his head against the headboard of the bed and a pillow behind him to rest his back properly. His legs had started healing at a normal rate. Whatever Cillia did, it worked because the flesh on the wounded parts was growing and covering up along with the skin.

"It is about what happened a few nights ago at the shifter pack, My lord," Leroy said and Dmitri frowned. The memory of what happened that night always left a bitter taste on his tongue.

"What about it?" He asked in an annoyed tone to show his displeasure in talking about that ill-fated night.

"About the shifter warriors, they were not the regular warriors who are trained in the packs around the world," Leroy said. The frown on Dmitri seems to deepen after his statement. "Those were specially trained warriors by the Alpha supreme."

"What is the point of you telling me this?" Dmitri asked again.

"I have tried t find out where the training grounds are for these warriors but I have not been able to. I believe it is somewhere in the amazing," Leroys said, but Dmitri said nothing because he had still not answered his question. "I also believe it is protected and hidden by magic, I have spoken to Cillia about this but she has said nothing about it, my Lord,"

"Why would there be a spell protecting the place? Are they any witches working for the shifters?" Dmitri asked and the vampire captain was put on a tough spot. He did not know how to explain it to the elder vampire.

"The Alpha supreme has two witches of his own," Leroy replied.

"I will speak with Cillia about it," Dmitri said understanding what Leroy was talking about. It meant that there unprepared for the other warriors trained within the Amazon but they were prepared for the regular warriors trained within the packs. It was true that he had noticed the difference among the shifters that night but he didn’t think much about not knowing that they were more than a few. That would be bad if they didn’t know to what extent those were trained and the type of training that they are being put through.

"I will take my leave now," Leroy said and walked out of the room. He had said his piece and let his worries known. Many vampires were killed off easily by those warriors and he didn’t what a repeat of that.

*******

In the Blood Moon pack.

Inside the alpha’s office of the Blood Moon Pack, Lazarus sat with his Beta and Gamma discussing the matter with the humans. The fact it was directly linked with his pack member made Lazarus the sole figure responsible for dealing with the humans.

"Did you fund where they went?" Lazarus asked Raven. For the past few days now, they had noticed something odd among the three humans that were present at the ceremony. They have been involved with a lot more humans whom the suspects are also aware of their existence.

Then at some point in time, they lost track of these humans and had to send a Hunter to search for them. Shifter hunters were usually sent out when a shifter is missing to find them and bring them back to the pack or runs away from punishment, they would be sent to capture them.

"Yes, Alpha, they have the help of a witch and are currently involved with an organization that seems suspicious too. I guess that they have found other humans who are aware and are not fans of our existence." Raven said and Lazarus sighed and massaged the bridge between his brows.

"I want to be among the hunters, Alpha," Ezra said making the other two men look at him warily. Ezra had been himself since the incident and his request right now only stated them.

"Ezra..."

"I won’t do anything stupid, I promise." He said stopping Lazarus from proceeding. "I want to know what is going on and I think my presence with the hunter will do us more good than harm."

Lazarus stared at him for a while trying to see if he had other reasons for wanting to hunt for humans but he could not see anything besides his random request. "Are you sure about this?" He asked.

"I am very sure about, Lazarus." He said and looked at Raven who was staring at him calculatingly.

"Alright then," Lazarus agreed even though his gut told him not to but he could not keep Ezra bound in the pack because he was not like he used to be. It was only natural and normal that there be changes in him after what happened. And besides, Ezra was not a pup that needed protection, he was the strongest warrior of the pack, and that was one of the reasons why he is the gamma.

"Be careful," Raven said. Just like Lazarus, he didn’t like the idea of letting Ezra leave and go unto enemy territory in his current state of mind, but sometimes, being in the outdoors help calm one’s mind and if that did not work, extreme situations like what he was about to get into would help you clear your mind and focus on the current situation.

Hopefully, Ezra would not be among those whom such scenarios didn’t affect because they have never seen him like this before and are not sure what it would take to get back the former Ezra of the Blood Moon Pack.

"I always am." He said with a grin. It was true that he just wanted to go out there and do something to help him clear his mind and get over what had happened. It was no use staying in the same place when t was not helping at all. Maybe a dangerous situation or a different scenery would help.

"Do you know where they are?" Lazarus asked and Ezra shook his head and then looked at Raven. He gave his phone to him and with the location of the humans and the other hunters.

"I will leave immediately." He said and stood up to leave.
