Chapter 145: 145. Confused
Inside the Study in the alpha mansion, Mateo sat opposite to Darren on the couch. They have been in there and sitting like that for almost five minutes but no one spoke ans the silence detached on.
Darren did not speak because he had caught whiff of what was wrong with his beta and did not know how he was going to stary asking him about that when he knew that the only reason why Mateo was mateless right now was because of his mate. He did it to protect his Luna.
While Mateo was silent because he did not know whether he wanted to talk about to his alpha or not. Something like this had never happened before so there hd never been the chance or need for such a conversation.
"I heard what happened, what you did." Darren began as Mateo looked up at him.
"Alpha..."
"I am sorry you had to do that." Darren said and stopping him from speaking.
"It was my decision, Alpha, she made her choice and I made mine." Mateo said. He didnt want to be pitied by anyone.
"I am grateful to you then," Darren said. "How do you feel now?" He changed the question.
"I am fine, but my wolf still needs some time coming to terms with what had happened." Mateon said and Darrrn nodded im understanding.
"Let me speak with him." He requested. Mateo gave him a worried look. "Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to him." Darren assured.
Mateo nodded his head and then closed his eyes, the next time he opened them, there were of amber color shining brightly. "Alpha," Mayeo’s beast spoke making Mateo’s voice much deeper as if it had second voice withingl it.
"Hiw are you feeling?" Darren asked him. He had asked the question to Matro aid niw he repeating it to his wolf. The wolf might be a shifter other half, but sometimes it tnds to have it’s own feelings and opinions about things around them.
"Not happy. Angry. Confused." He replied.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Darren asked. He was trying to get him to let out what he felt so that he won’t have hold it in fir long and prove to be a danger to others because some emotions run deeper the more it stays inside us.
"She, not Want me." The said and turned to look the other way. "Me, killed her." His voice sounded sad when he said last line. "Me sad and confused."
"You will be okay." Darren said and he nods, "Selene might give you another mate thay will accept you."
He turns to look at Darren and titled his head to one side, "Alpha thinks so?" He asked looking hopeful.
"Yes, I do think so." Darren replied and he nods again.
"I, let my human back now, alpha." He said and after receiving a nod from Darren, he his eyes changed again to Mateo’s brown eyes.
"How is he now?" Darren asked Mateo.
"He is calm now, thank you Alpha." Mateo replied and Darren smiled lightly and nods his hesd.

Lazarus went back to the room that he and Dana had spent the night. Ever since their meeting with the witch Cillia, Dana had not been like usual yet she’ll say she was alright. Buy anyone could tell that it was a lie.
Something was wrong but she didn’t want to share. And that was something that bothered Lazarus a lot. He just wanted to make sure thay his maye was alright, truly alright but she was not letting him on her feeling but keeping him by the fence and this troubled him a lot.
"We need to talk," Dana, " Lazarus said the moment he walked inside the room and shut the door. He walked to the couch where she sat and sat down opposite to her. She didnt look at him and busy herself with feeding the baby in her arms. " Dana," He called to get her attention.
"There is nothing to all about." She said stubnornly.
"Why do you avoid me and talking about she said?" Lazarus asked. He didn’t mention her make neither did he refer to her as ’the witch’’ because even it Dana did not accept it, she was still mother and and also because he didnt want to call her name, he did no lik her and Dana also did not like her.
"She is not important, that’s is why I don’t want to talk about her." She said and gave her worried look.
"Dana..."
"Lazarus please... My family is right here. You, Aziel, Kora... Everyone I need is here, with me." She said and finally looking at him. "The people who ever carry for me and loved me, that is all I need, not some witch woman whom I know nothing about."
"I don’t want to stop yourself from doing what you want, Dana, no matter what you chose, you will always be my mate and I will away love you nothing will ever change that." Lazarus said.
"I know and thay is why I will always chose you over everything else." She said and smiled lightly at him and he did the same. " Not even if my mother or father pops out of anywhere."
"Do what makes you happy, we will always a here to support you." He said and walked over to her. He picked up the child frim her lap and looked at her, "Attend to yourself now, I will take care of him."
"Alright, I will be back soon, " She said and stood heading for the bathroom. Dana didn’t care much about the fact a woman just showed up and claimed to be her mother. She would not even be surprised if another pops out of nowhere and says the same thing, but to say that it did not affect would be a lie.
She was shocked to a certain point and then became angry at her. If she was her mother then where was she her whole when she needed the guidance, love, care and protection of a parent? No one was there and now that she was happy, jas her own family and a mate that she knew without doubt worshipped her, and lovely pup of her own, someone shows up telling her that she was her mother. To make it worse, she was the same womam who had tried to hurt her, Kora and Lazarus and even her whole pack and works directly with the vampire lord.
But then she let it all go because it didn’t matter any more. Getting angry at her wouldn’t change a thing and it would rather be consuming her mind’d space and taking away her joy md happiness and she would not ready to risk losing those.
