Chapter 146: 146. Crysta
In the human city, Hunter led the duo to a casino, they walked until they got to the last seats at the back of the casino where they met a blonde man with piercing dark eyes sitting with crossed legs with a cigar between his fingers and smile puffing out of his mouth and nose.
Hunter sat in front of him making the man look up at him. "What do you do Hunter?" The man asked looking annoyed. "The last time you were here, you caused a lot of trouble." He lifted his gaze from Hunter and looked at the other two men who had made themselves comfortable on the seats beside them. "Who are they?
"I come in peace, Jarred, " Hunter said with his hands raised over his head. "They are friends who need some assistance," Hunter said referring to Jack and David.
"What sort of assistance did they require? " Jarred asked. He threw the cigarette butt on the ashtray and intertwined his fingers and placed his elbows on the table.
"Something about other creatures," Hunter replied.
Jarred snorted and glared at Hunter. "If this is a joke, take them and leave." He said sending a death glare at them.
"This isn’t a joke, we need help with something and if I am not wrong, Hunter needs the same help," David spoke up. While Jack just surveyed the place. He had been to this casino a couple of times but there was no way he would have guessed that people who knew about the non-human were in there.
"You are...?" Jarred asked directing his gaze to the man who had just spoken.
"David," He replied without averting his gaze from Jarred’s piercing dark one, "David Spears."
"Jack," He chimed in with a grin.
"You need with what?" Jarred turned his attention to Hunter who had picked up a cigarette from the pack that was on the table for Jarred. "Some shifter problem," He said between his teeth as he lit the cigarette. Taking it from his lips he said, "Last night something big was happening in the shifter territory and some party crashes came into play, we were caught in between and now suffering the consequences."
"Vampires?" Jarred asked, already knowing who the party crashers would be.
"Witch’s as well and they seem to be a new breed of shifters, they did this to us." he pulled his sleeves up and showed his arm to Jarred. "It’s not bad blood here, it is something else."
"Let’s talk about this inside," Jared said standing to his feet and walking to the door that was behind him. He opens it and walked inside and the others followed him in. Where did this happen?" He asked after being seated on a couch.
"The shadow Moon pack," Hunter replied. A servant borough a bottle of whisky and placed it in front of them before leaving the four men alone inside. "I think it was some ceremony for a Luna," he informed.
"I was not aware of this," Jared said taking out his phone to go through some files that were sent to him a few days ago. "It was not reported to me."
"The shifters know that we are getting involved in their business now and they are being more careful than before," Hunter said and Jarred frowned.
"How did they get to know that?" Ky has been your ars since he found out about the non-humans in the world, he even created an organization to keep an eye on them. Since then, no one found out and everything has been going ooyjly without hiccups and just like they knew about them? Jarred could not believe it and he didn’t want to believe it.
"When we got to the pack, it felt as if they were already expecting us but chose to ignore our presence and focus on what they were doing," Hunter told of his observations.
Jarred gave some thought to his words but still could not believe that his many years of working to keep the secret from the shifters were in vain. "Let me see what happened to all of you."
David took off his shirt and Jack took off his pants and the black skin under their fabrics came into view. The poison had spread throughout David’s back and climbed up his neck and spread towards his stomach. WhileJack had his whole covered in black and was still spreading upward. The same was happening to Hunter where his whole arm was covered and punching for his chest. "Do you know what this is?" Hunter asked.
"No, I have never seen this before." Karrrf answered, "But there is someone who might know." he licked up his phone once again and made a call. "She’ll be here soon." He said after ending the call.
"She?" Hunter asked. Jarred was never the kind to let someone else know better than he did or admit that someone else knew more especially not a woman.
"You’ll know when she comes," Jarred said while pouring the whisky into a glass. "She has been a great asset and help to us."
"If you say so, Jarred," Hunter said and picked up a glass of his own. "You can help yourselves." He said to David and Jack who had been looking at him in askance. "You will be fixed in no time," he assured them.

A few minutes later, a woman walked into the room, she had hair as dark as midnight and fell to her waist. It swayed with each step that she took. Her eyes were forest green and out like a pair of crystals. She looked young like a woman in her who had just turned twenty-five. "you wanted t see me, Jarred?" The woman asked. Her eyes took in the other faces in the room but she did not acknowledge their presence.
"Yes, this gentleman would require your help and knowledge," Jarred said while standing to his feet with his arms wide open. He hugged and pecked her cheeks before leading her to sit beside him.
While this was going on, the three men looked at them with many questions in their eyes. The woman was beautiful and almost look out of place in a room with four men given her petite frame. But the fact that Jarred had called her and even said that she knew a lot more than he did, they didn’t consider her weak or classify her as one who needed protection.
"This Crysta," Jarred introduced her while the woman sat gracefully and started at them without saying a word. "These men were at the shifter territory yesterday and something interesting happened there and to them that they need help with." He said to the woman named Crysta. "Do you know what was going on with the shifters?"
"It was the marking ceremony for the Luna supreme." She answered without beating about the bushes. Everyone raised a brow at her not understanding what she was talking about.
"The alpha supreme found his make and last night was her marking ceremony, both as the Alpha’s mate and as the luna supreme of the shifter race. She elaborated.
"Who is the Alpha supreme?" Jarred asked with wrinkled brows. He was not aware of many changes, though he had heard of the existence of an Alpha supreme he didn’t take it seriously knowing how stubborn and proud alphas were. He thought they would never bow to another shifter and address him as their superior.
"Supreme Alpha Darren McCain, he is not an ordinary shifter but a lycan," Crystal replied.
"Lycan?" They all asked and the woman looked at the like they were some clueless children whom she would be guiding on the right path.
"A lycan is a rare type of shifter, he is stronger than the average alpha wolf," she explained but Karred only frowned more.
"How am I unaware of this?" He asked no one in particular.
"Do you think that you humans will know everything?" Crystal sneered. Everyone except Jarref glared at her when she said. They didn’t know that she was not human until she made that comment. No human would refer to others as ’You humans’ in such a way.
"I didn’t know your work with other creatures now, Jarred." Hunter mocked.
Jarred smiled and placed his hand around Crysta’s shoulder. "She is priceless, especially now if you want to be cured, so treat and speak to her with respect," he said to Hunter and the others. "Now, my dear, would you mind checking on them?"
"Let me see, Crysta said and sat properly on the couch.
They showed the wounds that were not healing and the black skin in their bodies that was still spreading. "Do you know what that is?" Jarred asked.
"It is the poison of an Abomination," She replied and touched Hunter’s arm because he was the closest to her. You are lucky none of you are shifters or vampires, this would have spread a lot faster and more painful. It would have killed you hours ago."
They frowned at her words. So she was not a vampire or a shifter. They noted that. "What are you?" Jack asked making the woman look at him.
"She is a witch," Jarred replied to him.
