Chapter 142: 142. He is alive
Cillia was quiet for a moment before she stated info his again. "I wanted to find her." She said. "I wanted her to know, Dmitri,"
"And you thought that was the best time to do that?" He asked coldly but he still did not let go of her hand.
"There will never be a best time for something like this, I was only taking an opportunity that had thrown itself at me," Cillia argued.
"It caused us a lot, Cillia." He said and she nodded her head. "Did you think she will just turn her back on the shifters because you told her who you are to her?"
"She is a Luna, I did not expect her to turn her back on them, I just wanted her to acknowledge me as her mother or at least a little recognition from her would have been fine."
"Cillia," He called her name and intertwined their fingers. "I won’t say I know what you are feeling because I don’t, but will say this to you," He tucked her hair behind her ear. "pick a side and decide what to do after that. If you want her acceptance, you and I know what it requires of you. You said she is a Luna, she won’t leave her back for you, not after knowing g you have been her enemy for so long and even tried to kill her directly once before."
"What about you?" She asked. "What will you do if I chose her?"
Dimitri closed his eyesore a moment and opened them again. "Help me sit up," he said and she helps him sit in the bed. "I will leave you be if you don’t get in between me and my plans."
"Why?" She asked not understanding why an egocentric creature like him would do something like that, he was selfish and possessive.
With one swift move, he pulled her closer to himself and sealed her lips with his. He kissed her and she was shocked because it was too sudden even for her. She could not even remember the last they shared a kiss anymore and now he just initiated on his own volition.
She kissed him back after coming out of her shock.
He pulled away and caressed her lower lip with his thumb. "Let’s just say, some things cannot be explained with words." He said and kissed the back of her hand. "I still don’t like her."
Dmitri remembered the time when he first learned of the existence of a child bore by Cillia and to make it worse, it was father’s by the shifter. He was so angry that he was upon while in his slumber that search for the shifter personally and had him killed. He wanted to get rid of the child too but he could find where the child was kept and he didn’t care much about it as long as it stayed away from him. Since then the relationship between him and Cillia seemed to have been put on hold with none trying to take things back to the way there were.
"Will you accept her?"
"Will she accept me? He returned her question and she looked down at her palms. " I thought so. Make your choice, Cillia, you are at the point where you have to choose."

Sebastian was upside an infirmary receiving treatment to stop the bleeding of his roughly amputated arm. The rest of it had been cut off to leave a smooth surface and enable better treatment.
"It is good that he died," Sebastian said through gritted teeth as he looked a bit now missing an arm. The vampires and other shifters in the infirmary with him raised their heads or turned to look in his direction.
Collins was silently on a bed not too far away from him as he remembered his fight with Leo and Logan not paying heeheed to whatever Sebastian was saying. It was not the best feeling to remember. Those two were once under his protection and now they face each other as foes. And their skills had greatly increased over the years to the point that bested him in combat both in their beast skin and human skin. It was remarkable. He knew that if the Abominations had not shown up in the nick of time, he would have ended up with more than a torn lap with a chunk of flesh missing.
How great it would have been if they were fighting on the same side and not against each other. That would have been a beautiful thing to see but that was not possible anymore. They stand on different frontiers now.
The fight for survival was not an easy one and even more for the rogues now that the vampires had the lord with them. They had grown even more cockier than before and made the rogues feel like they don’t belong which was true. They were only being used to get what the vampires wanted and that was why on every attack that was planned, the rogues are always the first to attack even before the Abomination creatures.
Work and assets were out unto making the Abominations so they were of more value than a normal rogue shifter.
"Did you hear what I said, Collins?" Sebastian asked drawing attention to him. Jeblokked at Sebastian blankly to let him know that he didn’t hear a thing that he said. " Don’t you like the fact that Darrem is gone? "
"He is not," Collins said earning a frown from almost every in the infirmary. But he didn’t bother to explain his statement.
"What do you mean he is not? We were all there when it happened and how everyone reacted to his death even his mate went loose." Sebastian asked and the other concorded.
Collins sighed tiredly like the weight of the world had been dropped on his shoulders to carry. "He woke up at the very last minute before it was all over." He said while covering his eyes with his left palm.
"That can not be true," Sebastian said in disbelief.
"It is true, I saw him, the Alpha supreme." A vampire said making everyone turn in his direction. Now it was debatable. Everyone else says he was dead while two said he lives.
