Chapter 141: 141. How is it?

In the hospital, Leo lay on the bed with a bleeding leg, the wounds he got from the fight against Collins the former beta had healed but those he got from the Abomination attack were still looking fresh and bleeding.

Sophia stood by his side dressing his wounds. Earlier, she had not attended the ceremony because the Alpha told her that there would be an attack and she was to go and help in the hospital to make sure everything was prepared and ready for use when it was needed. She was one of the pack’s healers and her services and presence in the hospital were important.

"Does this hurt you still?" she asked seeing the frown form on her mate’s face. The tricky thing about the cuts gotten from an Abomination attack was that they wouldn’t heal without the help of a healer and even with a healer, it would take longer to heal and the process was painful.

"Yes, it does," Leo said. He lay flat on the bed using his hands as a pillow and stared at her. "Are you alright?"

"I wasn’t there for you." She said and looked at the wound on his leg.

"And you are here now," Leo said and took her in his. "You wouldn’t be here attending to me if you were hurt and I wouldn’t be at ease knowing that you got hurt out there, Soph." Lightly pressing on the back of her palm hr continued. "I wouldn’t know what to do if you were out there, especially when we all felt Alpha leave us. Knowing you were safe was the only that kept me going."

"I am... I just wanted to be useful." She said as they stared into each other’s eyes. "Back in Ghora, I trained with the warriors there and fought with them, I help to heal those who were injured but now I just feel..." She trailed off.

"You feel you are not useful enough for the pack." Leo completed her sentence. She looked away because he was right, she did feel that way. "You are a great healer, Soph, what you do is very important, don’t ever think it’s not enough." He said and looked at his leg which was healing slowly. "I am healing now and it is all thanks to you." she smiled at her words.

"Thank you," She said and Lei raise a brow." Thank you for saying that to me."

"I said it because it is the truth, Soph," Leo stated and her smile became wider.

"I know." she leaned to plant a peck on his lips before picking up her things to leave and go to another patient. "I will check on Logan in the next room, you can come if you like."

"I will come, I want to see how he’s doing," Leo said standing to his feet and Sophia helped him to walk.

Away from the Shadow Moon pack,

In the vampire territory, the Lord of Vampires lay in bed with a cold expression on his face being attended to by Cillia and Leroy. Though he was hurt, he was as badly injured as his master. His wounds could heal on their own without leaving scars behind even if left unattended.

But the same could not he said to his lord. His wounds were caused by the intense heat that had nullified his healing ability in that area, even if it healed, there would glaring scars that would forever remind him and anyone who has witnessed it of what had happened. He needed the witch’s help to heal it or at least make it less obvious to the eyes.

"Where is the Elixir I gave you before Leroy?" Cillia asked but her gaze was on the legs of Dmitri. She had cleaned and applied ointment and even had his skin peeled off from the affected area of his two legs beginning from his ankles to his toes to help it regenerate a lot quicker.

"I’ll go and get it, " Leroy said and left the room using his vampire speed. A moment later he was back with a small bottle not higher than two fingers together and handed it to the witch.

She poured out a little of it on her palm before applying it to the feet of Dmitri. Although the wounds were open and a win touched directly, the vampire remained silent. He did not wince or frown even once from the pain caused by the touch. His face remained stoic and cold.

He was bitter about the fact that Gaia had the upper hand this time. In the past, it was not like that, he was always the one to have the upper hand because she had too to care for. He never expected her to for sale the safety of everyone else and go all out as she did.

"How is it?" He asked Cillia. She looked up at him on the bed and smirked. He stared at her with the same blank face that he had on since returning without uttering another word.

"It is terrible," Cillia said. She stood up from where she sat near his feet and walked to the head of the bed and looked at his face. His eyes were on her as she moved following her movements. "She got you real good, Dmitri."

From the side, Leroy got annoyed with the way Cillia was talking to his master but he didn’t want to do anything to anger the witch. She was needed to cure their leader. If he says anything that annoyed her, she could just leave and not come back until she was satisfied with the misery.

"It won’t happen again," Dmitri said and Cillia smiled wryly.

"Whatever you say, Lord Dmitri," she said and sat next to him in the bed. "I would check your heart rate if you had any heart beating in you," She placed her hand on his chest where his heart should be. "But since you don’t, I will just advise you to sleep like you have been doing all these years. By the time you wake up, it should all be over and your legs will be as good as new."

She pulled her hand to keep beside her again but he caught it. "Leave us, Leroy," he said and turned his head a bit to look at his right and man.

"Yes, my lord." Though reluctant, Leroy gave a bow and left the room leaving just the two of them inside.

"Where were you, Cillia?" He asked. A flicker of emotion passed through his eyes but disappeared before she could understand what it was.
