Chapter 2417: Chapter 2417: Where Is Mr. Cheney? Where Did He Go?

Mrs. Kimberley and Mrs. Connor pushed open the door as Jasmine Yale was holding a water cup, getting hot water from the dispenser.

Seeing them return, Jasmine Yale smiled, "You’re back."

"Yes, Mrs. Yale, have you had lunch?" Mrs. Connor asked.

"Not yet, my aunt went out to buy it, she should be back soon."

"If we had known, we’d have brought you some."

"It’s no trouble." Jasmine Yale smiled; she never liked to inconvenience others, especially strangers.

She took a sip of plain hot water, and her hands felt much warmer hugging the cup.

The quiet room became lively again.

When there are more people, the place feels full of life.

"Mrs. Yale, after lunch, you should go for a walk. Staying in the room all day isn’t good for having a baby," Mrs. Kimberley said.

"Okay, I understand."

After a few more casual conversations, Butler Santana returned.

He had bought Jasmine Yale’s favorite—sweet and sour ribs with rice, deliciously fragrant and steaming hot.

"Butler Santana, let’s eat in the lounge, or the room will be filled with the smell of sweet and sour." Jasmine Yale said.

"Alright."

The lounge was spacious.

Jasmine Yale sat on a chair, broke open the chopsticks, and quietly began eating.

"Butler Santana, I’m not very hungry tonight. Maybe I won’t eat much; make something light tomorrow."

"Sure, anything is fine." Butler Santana looked at Jasmine Yale, feeling somewhat concerned.

Jasmine Yale still didn’t look well, still quite pale.

"Miss Yale." He moved his lips and asked, "Where is Mr. Cheney? Where did he go? Give him a call; is he busy tonight?"

"He... he probably can’t come these days."

"Why? What happened?"

"He went abroad, on a business trip to a pretty distant country, quite by chance."

"Oh, well, maybe Mr. Cheney thought you still had some time before having the baby."

"Exactly, there’s still a little over half a month to go before the due date!"

"After eating, shall we go for a walk?"

"Hmm, okay."

"Miss Yale, you need to be happier. Is it because Mr. Cheney isn’t here, that you’re not happy?"

"No, I’m quite fine, maybe I was scared yesterday. I haven’t had a baby before, a bit nervous, while Mrs. Connor and Mrs. Kimberley are in such good spirits."

"You should be like them, cheerful and chatty; it’s good for childbirth."

"Alright, I’ll try to change." Jasmine Yale smiled.

It’s fine when she doesn’t smile, but when she does, Butler Santana feels even more heartached, a kind of unspeakable heartache.

Perhaps... it’s because other pregnant women have their husbands with them!

And Jasmine Yale is all alone.

"Miss Yale, do you want to call your friends or family?"

"No." Jasmine Yale shook her head quickly, "Let’s not bother them for now. I haven’t given birth yet, and the little one doesn’t know when he’ll come out."

"Alright." Butler Santana didn’t press too hard either.

Jasmine Yale lowered her head, eating sweet and sour pork ribs with rice, her appetite was fine but her face showed little color.

"Miss Yale, I’ll go home later and bring over some baby supplies. I need to be prepared."

"Butler Santana, thank you so much, really."

"Don’t mention it; you’re talking nonsense again, saying thank you. We’ve been living together for so long; don’t be so formal with me."

Jasmine Yale’s eyes welled with tears, in a foreign country, she didn’t dare imagine what she would do if Butler Santana wasn’t around during emergency situations.
