Chapter 2296: Chapter 2296: But... I Miss You

"He’s done many bastardly things," Jasmine Yale said lightly.

"If he does bastardly things again in the future, you must tell me. Don’t worry, I won’t let my mom know. I understand what you’re concerned about."

"Yukon..." Jasmine Yale’s eyes grew moist, and she suddenly felt a bit at a loss.

Yukon Carbon knew everything.

He might not say much, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know.

He’s always been the one with a heart like a clear mirror.

"Yukon, if he has another emotional outburst like that, I won’t forgive him again. I don’t want to keep worrying and living in fear. He’s an adult, not a child!"

Yukon Carbon laughed, "Mm."

Jasmine Yale was in the park, walking while chatting with Yukon Carbon on her phone.

The ground in the park was covered in fallen leaves, and stepping on them produced a continuous rustling sound.

This pure, natural sound, mixed with the chirping of birds and the sound of wind, formed the simplest melody.

Perhaps because she hadn’t spoken to Yukon Carbon for a long time, she talked with him for quite a while.

Until she heard a stranger’s voice on the other end: "Mr. Carbon, it’s time to change the dressing."

She smiled, "I won’t disturb you, let’s chat some other time."

"Sure, don’t worry about anything. I’ve got it under control on my mom’s side."

"Yukon... Aunt Camden sincerely cares for you, if possible, listening to her wouldn’t be a mistake."

Yukon Carbon chuckled softly, "I’m not a child anymore, I can weigh right and wrong."

"I’m going to put on the medication."

Yukon Carbon hung up the phone.

Jasmine Yale sighed wistfully, lifted her head, and looked at the vast expanse of grassland and the boundless sky.

The sky had no end, just like time, which has no finishing point.

Jasmine Yale walked through the park for a while.

It was early morning, and there were still dew drops on the lawn, under the sunlight, those crystal-clear dew drops were like mirrors, reflecting spots of light and shadow.

When the wind blew, the dew drops fell to the ground, the surroundings were nice, the scenery was good, and the air was fresh.

Leaving the park, Jasmine Yale stopped by the supermarket to buy some snacks and daily necessities.

Today, she was dressed very casually, in a simple black wool sweater dress that was very warm, with a caramel-colored plaid shawl draped over it.

Her short hair was neat and didn’t seem out of place.

Jasmine Yale pushed a small cart, walking slowly in the supermarket.

Suddenly, her phone rang. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Jasmine." It was Sylvan Cheney, "I’m home, where are you?"

"Hmm? Back so early in the morning?"

"Yeah, finished everything, of course, I have to come home. What about you, where are you? I want to see you."

"No."

Sylvan Cheney was taken aback, not expecting Jasmine Yale to reject him so bluntly.

"But... I miss you." His voice was gentle, carrying a kind of deadly warmth.

Jasmine Yale paused her hand holding the phone, "No means no."

"We’ve been apart for three days."

"Even ten days doesn’t matter."

"I brought you a gift."

"Even with a gift, no."

"..." Sylvan Cheney was at a loss, "Am I really so unlikable?"

"Don’t you have a clue?"

"Oh." Sylvan Cheney felt a sense of defeat and remained silent.

However, after a while, Jasmine Yale didn’t hang up the phone.

He frowned, "Jasmine..."

"..." She picked up a bag of potato chips and tossed it into the cart, "What?"

"I hear the sound of children crying, are you at the hospital?"
