Chapter 2295: Chapter 2295: Jealous Boyfriend

Three days later.

Jasmine Yale unexpectedly received a call from Yukon Carbon.

She was taking a walk in the park, and when she got the call, it felt like ages had passed; she was dazed for a moment.

Yukon Carbon hadn’t contacted her in a long time.

"Jasmine."

"I’m here," Jasmine Yale responded.

The voice on the other end sounded a bit weary and tired, and Jasmine felt a pang in her heart.

"It’s been a long time since I called you. My phone... was taken away by the attending doctor, saying that it affects my rest," Yukon Carbon chuckled softly, "I secretly took it today to make a call."

"Listen to the doctor well, do whatever they say, get plenty of rest, don’t overwork," Jasmine quickly said.

"I know, I know, it’s just that I haven’t contacted you in a while, and I was afraid you’d worry."

"I’m sorry, Yukon, I..."

"Shh," Yukon Carbon said softly, "Don’t mention that, it’ll upset me."

Jasmine’s eyes moistened, and suddenly she didn’t know what to say. Her heart surged with waves of emotion.

The wind blew on her face, and she quietly looked at the yellow earth beneath her feet. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

"I’m much better now, already able to get out of bed and move around. Don’t worry, and don’t blame yourself. Come to Old York when you have time, I’d love to see you."

"Okay."

"Yeah, he came to the hospital a couple of days ago to apologize, the first time he came, I was asleep, heard he waited outside for two hours. But I was asleep from the medication, didn’t know. He came again the next day, and we met."

Jasmine was surprised, utterly taken aback.

She recognized who the "he" Yukon Carbon mentioned was.

But Sylvan Cheney hadn’t mentioned it to her.

"You guys..."

"Didn’t have an argument," Yukon Carbon said quietly, "His attitude was okay, didn’t say much, but was sincere. I did hit him once, so we’re even. But... when he was leaving, he ran into my mom, she doesn’t like him, said a few words to him, but I didn’t hear what."

"He didn’t argue with Aunt Camden, did he?"

"I didn’t ask, but it didn’t seem like it."

"Did you... forgive him? I don’t think you need to forgive him."

"If I don’t forgive him, how can I trust him with you? He told me he’d treat you well, and if he can’t, I can keep hitting him."

"You can’t beat him; he’s a scoundrel."

Another soft laugh came from the other end: "I’ve never heard someone talk about their boyfriend that way."

"He’s not my boyfriend, I don’t admit it. I don’t have a petty boyfriend like that."

"Besides being petty, he doesn’t have major flaws, and he’s adaptable, willing to come to apologize to me on his own."

"Yukon, don’t speak for him. You’ve had surgery, been hospitalized; if anything happened to you, I couldn’t forgive him. Liking someone isn’t about possession, it’s about fulfillment, and he’s too domineering."

"He’s not like me, I guess I can vaguely understand why you like him so much."

"I..." Jasmine blushed a bit, "What do you mean, he has character issues."

"The issue is whether you’re willing to help him change. When he first came to apologize, I didn’t respond to him, even got angry, but he was sincere, kept apologizing."

"What’s the use of apologizing? Can an apology heal your injuries?"

"No," Yukon Carbon said, his voice gentle, "That’s why I should remember this grudge, remember it well."
