Chapter 2294: Chapter 2294: I Didn’t Mean It, Let Me Apologize to You

"Go to bed early and don’t stay up late," Jasmine Yale closed her eyes and chatted with him on the phone. "I’ve seen the feedback on the plan. There are some areas we can discuss when you get back. However, I don’t want to go to your office. If you have time, let’s meet at a teahouse to chat."

"I have time, I have time every day."

Jasmine Yale chuckled, "My baby has been moving all the time, what should I do, I’m so tired."

She held the phone with one hand, while the other rested on her belly.

The little one was particularly restless tonight. Ever since she started revising the plan, the baby had been moving non-stop and wouldn’t sleep even now.

"I’m sorry."

"Hmm?" Jasmine Yale was puzzled. "Why are you saying ’sorry’ to me? It’s the little one who’s being fussy."

"The words I said in the park last time were hurtful. I didn’t mean it, and I’m apologizing to you."

"I forgot."

"Just forget it, don’t keep dwelling on it." Sylvan Cheney felt very guilty. He had told her she was being dramatic due to pregnancy, speaking without thinking first.

"But when you apologize, it reminds me of it. Since I remember, what’s the use of just apologizing?"

"What do you want me to do then? I promise it won’t happen again, there won’t be a next time. I was just a bit emotionally unstable during those days, with work issues and life issues, so I was overly emotional."

"But you should know, no matter how emotional a person gets, they shouldn’t hurt the people around them, especially family and friends."

"I know I was wrong."

"It’s good that you know, but don’t just say it."

"I won’t. Give me a chance, and I can prove it to you."

"What will you do the next time you’re emotional?" Jasmine Yale intentionally asked.

"I could scold Kade Yuvan."

"Pfft," Jasmine Yale couldn’t hold back her laughter and burst out laughing.

With that, she was completely awake.

"Do you feel any discomfort?" Sylvan Cheney asked.

"No, other than the little one being too restless, nothing else. Is there a piano in the hotel? Play a tune for me; maybe that’ll calm the baby down."

"There’s one in the suite. Hold on, I’ll go tune it."

"So luxurious."

On the other end, it seemed Sylvan Cheney had turned on the speakerphone.

In the quiet bedroom, Jasmine Yale could even hear his footsteps and the sound of him testing the piano.

It was quiet on his end, and quiet on her end too.

Though they were apart, it felt like just the two of them.

After a while, she heard Sylvan Cheney’s voice again, "The piano’s tuned. What would you like to hear?"

"Whatever you’d like, I don’t know much about music."

"Okay, I understand."

Jasmine Yale placed the phone near her ear, and as soon as she finished speaking, she heard the gentle flow of piano music, like the trickling of a spring, delicate and soothing.

The melody was very gentle, and on such a night, it sounded particularly pleasant.

Jasmine Yale didn’t understand music, but she could appreciate the beauty, as if each note was infused with Sylvan’s emotions.

This feeling was very enjoyable.

As she listened, sleepiness came over her.

The baby in her belly seemed to feel it too, and finally calmed down and stopped fidgeting.

There wasn’t a hint of background noise over the phone, just the pure sound of the piano.

Jasmine Yale didn’t know when she fell asleep, she just knew that she hadn’t finished listening to the piece before she drifted into dreamland.

The piece was very long, chosen specially by Sylvan Cheney.

After finishing, he gently picked up the phone, "Jasmine..."

There was no response from the other end.

He guessed she had fallen asleep and smiled softly, "Silly girl."

He ended the call without disturbing her slumber.
