Chapter 2287: Chapter 2287: I’ve Always Had a Good Eye

Ever since that day, Jasmine Yale receives a bouquet of flowers every morning.

Each bouquet is different.

There are roses, baby’s breath, and eustomas...

Although the bouquets bear no name tags, Jasmine knows they are from Sylvan Cheney.

Sometimes, when she is arranging the flowers in a vase, she finds hidden surprises, like a chocolate tucked under a piece of cellophane or a small card nestled among the petals.

When Butler Santana is not at home, she would often gaze blankly at these flowers.

She also keeps a bouquet of forget-me-nots on her desk at work. Whenever she gets tired of working on proposals, she looks at these vibrant and fresh blooms.

The flowers are beautiful, and even more so under the sunlight. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

During this time, she learns that Yukon Carbon is much better from his injuries, though not yet discharged, he is already able to get out of bed.

When she calls, it’s always Aunt Camden who answers, and Jasmine feels quite sorry for Yukon Carbon.

With the amusement park proposal half done in her hands, she sends it to Sylvan Cheney for his opinion.

No matter what, she will help him with this proposal.

Unexpectedly, Sylvan Cheney calls her back immediately.

"I’ve looked at the proposal. The details are handled inadequately, but the overall structure is okay. However, the logic lacks some coherence and on-the-ground assessment is insufficient."

"This is just a draft, and it’s only half done," Jasmine Yale defends.

"I know. I’ll mark the areas that need improvement for you to revise. Proposals like this rarely succeed in one go. Often, they require five, ten, or even more revisions. You need to have some patience."

Jasmine nods: "I can revise it."

She’s a bit surprised.

When it comes to work, Sylvan Cheney is usually indiscriminately harsh, even to her.

But today is different. She can tell he’s not that satisfied with this initial draft, yet his voice is gentle and his demeanor patient, almost like he’s offering earnest guidance.

"I’ve taken a look. There aren’t major flaws. Some ideas and concepts align well with my vision, especially your overall amusement park positioning, which leans towards creating a dreamy fairy-tale style. It’s quite in line with what I imagined. As for the fieldwork part, I’ll drive you there sometime, don’t go alone. That area is quite remote and desolate."

"I know," Jasmine says. "I heard from a friend that government plans for a subway line will pass through the vicinity of that land, so you’ve got good foresight in acquiring it."

"My foresight is always good, and you’ve impressed me quite a bit."

"There’s nothing impressive about me; I’m just doing my best. I don’t know much about finance-related matters, so thank you for teaching me."

"Do you really have to be so formal with me?"

"Isn’t that appropriate?"

Sylvan Cheney rubs his temples and shakes his head.

Insisting it’s appropriate.

"Jasmine, if it’s tiring, just drop the proposal. I didn’t pay you; your help is out of goodwill. Don’t wear yourself out."

"I certainly won’t help you if I’m tired, without you telling me."

"Hmm." Sylvan Cheney’s lips curve slightly upward, a subtle arc lifting his brows and eyes.

Outside the window, the sunlight is splendid, casting a soft radiance on his sharply defined face, adding an air of elegance and detachment.

He doesn’t speak, and she doesn’t hang up the call.

The two remain silent for quite a while.

The air is filled with the thickest scent of autumn, with swathes of golden hues as vibrant as spilled paint.
