Chapter 2288: Chapter 2288: Some People Have Never Been Fathers

After an unknown amount of time, Sylvan Cheney paused and spoke: "Jasmine."

Jasmine Yale was sitting on the balcony sunbathing, and she gently rocked the wicker chair: "Here."

"Is Yukon’s injury healed..." Sylvan seemed to muster up his courage, "If possible, say sorry for me."

Jasmine Yale chuckled lightly: "Sylvan Cheney, don’t you know? I’ve already lost that friend, lost him forever."

"Jasmine..."

"It’s fine, not seeing me, he can live peacefully and well for the rest of his life, that’s good."

"Are you not going to forgive me?"

"Whether I forgive you or not, what difference does it make? What is lost, is lost forever." Jasmine Yale said softly.

Just like back then, when the doctor told her she might never have the chance to be a mother again, what could she do?

What needed to be accepted, still had to be accepted.

Not everything can have a chance to be salvaged.

"Jasmine..."

"When you hit him, didn’t you think about how I would feel? At the school gate, you even said you wanted to settle the score with me. Now, since you brought this up, and I just happen to have time, shall we settle it?"

"You know that’s not what I meant." Sylvan said urgently.

"Then what do you mean?" Jasmine Yale tilted her head, quietly holding her phone.

"Can the words spoken at such times be taken seriously?"

"Then which kind of words can be taken seriously? I’m pretty dumb, I can’t tell the difference."

"Jasmine!" Sylvan was anxious, not knowing how to refute; on matters where he has no ground, he has always been outmatched by Jasmine Yale, "Which hospital is he in? I’ll go apologize to him, okay?"

"If you had been a bit heavier-handed, he would have died long ago, and there wouldn’t be talk of apology."

"I didn’t think that much at the time..."

"It’s work time, focus on your work. I’ll continue with the plan."

After speaking, Jasmine Yale hung up the phone.

She looked up, greeted by sunny sunlight, the sky azure, clouds delicate.

The wind moved, leaves moved, flags moved.

It’s autumn deep in the season; the scenery is entirely different from summer.

Evening.

After work hours, the night has already enveloped.

Jasmine Yale received a call from Kade Yuvan.

"Jasmine, are you home?"

"I’m home."

"You haven’t had dinner, right? I’ll pick you up, let’s have dinner together."

"Just you alone?"

"Yeah, who else would you want?"

"No, just casually asking, what made you think of inviting me to dinner?"

"There’s something I want to tell you, and something to give you." Kade Yuvan said mysteriously.

Jasmine Yale did not refuse.

Kade Yuvan took her to a Chinese restaurant, with a slightly sweet and sour taste, very authentic flavor, and the decor was in a rustic Jiangnan style, even the tableware was in the Jingdezhen blue and white style.

There weren’t many people in the restaurant, and the private room felt more empty and quiet.

Night fell, looking down from the high building, it was the bustling, lively center of Cakago.

Upon entering, Kade Yuvan placed a handbag on the sofa and took off his suit jacket.

He smiled: "The handbag is for you, I heard there are some children’s clothes inside, I didn’t open it."

"Hmm? You didn’t buy it?" Jasmine Yale sat on the chair, curiously looking at Kade Yuvan.

"You should know who bought it, he was quite thoughtful, when he asked me to accompany him to the maternity and baby store, he asked the staff about everything in detail. Some people, who’ve never been fathers, seem very nervous." Kade Yuvan laughed.

Jasmine Yale understood.

She gently lowered her eyelashes and said softly: "Why did he ask you to deliver it?"
