Chapter 484: Bathym, Demonic Prince of Fear
Suddenly, the air became heavy as it seemed. A gravitational pressure, born from pure demonic mana, crushed the soldiers’ lungs. Bathym, the Demonic Prince of Fear, descended from the bloody sky. His stature was colossal, exceeding four meters, and from his massive torso sprang four muscular arms, each ending in claws capable of easily tearing flesh.
" TAKE THE RETREAT!" shouted Sulyvhan.
"I will take care of him personally! Do not stay in my wake if you value your souls!"
The soldiers, accustomed to the Emperor’s natural authority, did not hesitate. They retreated in good order, leaving Sulyvhan alone in the center. At his sides, the Archangel Loriel landed with infinite grace, her sapphire wings dispersing the fetid mist.
"You are quite presumptuous, Alexander ~" she murmured with a provocative smile, although her gaze remained fixed on the demon. "A mortal against a Demonic Prince? And you want to fight him alone without my help?"
"you talk too much, Archangel. Hamper his movements, I will do the rest," replied Sulyvhan in a dry tone.
Bathym charged. It was not a run, but an explosion of physical power. The ground under his feet pulverized. The Prince’s first two arms came down with the force of two meteors. Sulyvhan used a lateral Dash, but Bathym’s third and fourth arms were already waiting for him, tracing crossed sweeping trajectories.
Sulyvhan did not retreat. He dove into the monster’s guard.
Sulyvhan parried a claw with his black blade, while his white sword came to butt against the Prince’s dermal plate armor. Bathym used his fifth arm, located in the center of his plexus, to deliver a devastating punch.
< Aura Repulsion >
Sulyvhan’s spherical shockwave slowed the impact, but Bathym’s physical power was such that Sulyvhan was thrown backward, his boots plowing the ground for twenty meters.
Simultaneously, Loriel sprang forward. She became a blur of blue light, her arcane mana lances harassing Bathym’s eyes. The demon roared with rage, his five arms waving to try to seize the winged insect, which allowed Sulyvhan to catch his breath.
While Bathym was about to close his five claws on Loriel in a mortal embrace, Sulyvhan projected his black blade using the chain.
< Aura Technique : Attraction !>
The chain wrapped around the wrist of Bathym’s fourth arm, diverting it from its trajectory. Loriel took advantage of the opening to dive under the demon’s chin and pierce his throat with a ray of light. Bathym staggered.
Sulyvhan, seeing Loriel exposed after her attack, leaped to intercept the fifth arm rushing towards the archangel’s abdomen. He blocked the impact with his own body, his < Aura Coating> cracking under the shock, but protecting Loriel from evisceration.
A glance was exchanged between the man and the celestial entity. A tacit complicity had just been born between the two.
"Alexander... do not die now," she breathed, her hands charging with stabilizing energy for the human’s aura.
Sulyvhan smoothed his hair, a mocking smile on his lips. It was time to increase the frequency. The chains of his swords sank deeper into his muscles, drawing from his latent Genesis.
< Art : Sundering Eclipse >
< Third movement : New Moon>
The atmosphere changed radically. Sulyvhan’s gray aura condensed until it became a sheet of absolute void. His two swords began to vibrate so fast that they seemed to evaporate. It was the fusion state: Kaiser no longer held his weapons, he was his weapons. He charged. His speed now exceeded Bathym’s perception capabilities.
The demon multiplied strikes with his five limbs. But Sulyvhan slipped through the impacts. Each time one of Bathym’s arms approached, Sulyvhan used it as a pivot point to rotate, cutting off shreds of flesh in passing. The black, boiling and corrosive blood stained his face.
Loriel, synchronized with his movements, created walls of wind to redirect Bathym’s deflagrations, offering Sulyvhan impossible flight trajectories. Mutual confidence increased: one protected the flanks of the other without a word.
Bathym, humiliated by this mortal, let out a cry that made the surrounding rock pillars collapse. He concentrated all his mana in his five hands to trigger an explosion of Fear. Sulyvhan understood that he had to finish it.
< Fourth movement : Full Moon >
Sulyvhan materialized above the Prince’s head. He crossed his arms. The chains shone with an unbearable brightness. In a fraction of a second, he performed a rotation of his entire body, a spiral that seemed to suck the light from the plain. The black blade and the white blade struck simultaneously the bicep of Bathym’s third arm, the most massive.
The sound was not that of a cut, but that of a spatial rupture.
*SHIIIINNNK !*
Bathym’s colossal arm was sliced clean at the shoulder. The limb fell heavily to the ground, causing a localized earthquake, while a spray of blood spurted from the severed member.
"MORTAL! YOU WILL ONLY BE CORPSES FOR MY LEGION!" roared the Prince.
With a furious gesture of his remaining four arms, he struck the ground. The earth tore violently. With the surge of demonic mana, he summoned a multitude of lesser demons.
Hundreds of ghouls and scavengers of the Abyss sprang from the cracks, forming a swarming tide that threw itself on Sulyvhan and Loriel, seeking to overwhelm them by numbers under the eyes of Bathym who was already preparing his final counterattack.
Sulyvhan landed back to back with Loriel.
"Ready for a second round, Archangel?" he asked, his silver pupils shining with excitement.
Loriel deployed her wings, an ice lance in each hand. "As long as you do not let me down, Emperor... the dance continues."
...
The tide of lesser demons swept in, with disproportionate limbs, salivating jaws and eyes injected with hatred.
Faced with this apocalypse, Alexander Sulyvhan remained motionless, his long silver hair whipping the air charged with ashes and sulfur. His silver pupils, lodged in the heart of ebony black sclerae, fixed on the horde with surgical neutrality.
At his side, the Archangel Loriel deployed her sapphire wings, her armor of light casting iridescent reflections on the surrounding carnage.
