Chapter 63: High-Level Energy Control Technique

Leo’s strange move immediately caught Raphael’s attention. He knew what that technique was, but he himself hadn’t had time to learn it.

Before, he was so focused on breaking the record for fastest training to level ninety that he didn’t spend time practicing high-level energy control.

This technique is very hard to learn because it takes forever, but the result isn’t that appealing.

The effect is just adding an extra layer of armor to your body. How strong or weak that armor is depends on how much energy you put into it. Compared to defensive-type techniques, it’s way worse, so it’s pretty useless.

Aside from techniques, you could just make a good set of armor and follow a contractor with strong enough support abilities, which would be way more effective and save a lot more time.

Most people who learn it are those who’ve reached level ninety-nine and have nothing better to do, so they go train this technique.

Plus, to learn this technique, you need to at least be a demigod to master it within ten years. Once you reach demigod level, your energy control ability jumps way up, so you can learn it that fast.

Before becoming a demigod, if you wanted to learn it, you’d have to put in at least over twenty years of effort, so no idiot would go learn this crap.

"Didn’t expect Leo to know this stuff. And he can use it so smoothly. But leveling up is still more important than this."

Though he was a bit surprised, Leo had lived quite a few years in his past life. If that world didn’t have contractors but did have energy, then knowing high-level energy control techniques is pretty understandable.

This punch from Leo made Michael’s eyes pop out. No matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t figure out that the first person to beat him up this ’enthusiastically’ on this continent wasn’t an enemy but a teammate.

’System. Can you teleport me somewhere else? I don’t wanna stay in this shithole. These two animals aren’t human.’

Even though he knew there was no hope, he still went to complain to the system. And of course the system talked in that annoying way he expected.

[Hmph, what kind of ungrateful genie are you? You’re just embarrassing yourself. Even I feel embarrassed being the support system for you.

Raphael helped you wake up quickly. Leo is being super enthusiastic helping you become a genie who’s good at martial arts and has combat ability.

Yet you’re projecting your own petty thoughts onto them. Badmouthing them like that, doesn’t your conscience hurt?]

???

He thought the system would just refuse and scare him with punishment, but he didn’t expect it to say something so ear-piercing like this.

Since when did this system know shame? Since when did this system talk so enthusiastically? It slacks off on useful stuff and half-asses it but is super diligent with useless crap.

This damn thing... is a system that pisses off the genie, not one that supports the genie.

Michael was already really angry, and with the system’s ’help’ on top of that, his eyes went wide, he coughed up blood, and passed out right there.

Then Leo suddenly blinked a few times. That deep enthusiasm in his eyes was nowhere to be seen. Instead, there was a bit of guilt in his expression.

Of course, if anyone thinks he’d actually kneel and apologize to Michael over something this small, dream on.

At least he showed some guilt. It’s much better than the worst scenario, which would be him laughing right in Michael’s face. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Seeing Michael unconscious, good-guy Leo scooped up a bucket of water and splashed it right in his face. Water went up his nose and into his mouth, making Michael choke and cough violently.

Michael was now writhing on the floor, his mouth constantly coughing to spit out water. In his eyes, there wasn’t a single bit of hope left for this world.

"Cough, cough, you bastard..."

He didn’t even have the strength to yell out a long curse right now. Struggling to catch his breath for a bit, he finally managed to scream out.

"You two assholes are teaming up to bully me, aren’t you? Don’t deny it. You’re noble. You are aristocrats. I’m just a pathetic, lowly genie..."

This time he straight up cried. Why was it that both of them awakened, yet Leo didn’t have a scratch on him while he got tortured twice in a row?

Raphael was seriously way too much. Earlier he clearly slapped him super enthusiastically, but when Leo started messing around, he didn’t react at all. At least that’s how it looked from Michael’s perspective.

Raphael of course wasn’t going to actually abandon a genie-level talent. But the key point was Leo acted with restraint.

Michael might be in pain, but his body right now didn’t actually have any problems, so he couldn’t just slap Leo for no reason.

"My bad. My bad. Earlier I was affected by Eat God’s ability and couldn’t control my body. After transforming, for some reason whenever I see someone weak, I want to teach them martial arts. Raphael could teach energy control too, but no rush."

Leo grinned and gave a half-assed apology. Right now he was more interested in his new ability than in Michael.

Raphael was busy analyzing Leo’s words and didn’t have time to pay attention to Michael either.

Just like that, Michael became the one left out. No matter how miserably he cried, no one would really pay attention.

Since crying didn’t work, the only option was to get serious and work. The suffering was over, no need to bring it up again. If he kept bringing it up, Michael would feel shitty every single day.

"That guy named Eat God is definitely a scam. If he were Teach God or Martial God or something, that’d sound more reasonable. But I think Martial God or something related is more accurate."

Seeing Michael suddenly get serious instead of lying on the floor crying, Raphael nodded in satisfaction.

A god at least has to be like this. Otherwise, the more he looked, the less Michael seemed like a god at all.
