Chapter 256: Dungeon Domain, Level Up! Five Waves and Its Mechanism
Their vision blinked.
Swoosh!
The next moment, Caelus and Sylvia appeared inside the Domain Dungeon.
They expected a chaotic battlefield full of beasts. Instead, they stood on a massive circular platform made of polished white stone.
Four enormous golden bridges extended from the platform. Each bridge stretched far into the distance before disappearing into a dense white fog.
Could this be where the fog of the Misty Woods originated?
However, their attention quickly shifted.
In the very center of the platform floated a large crystal. It slowly rotated in the air. Golden lines pulsed across its surface like glowing veins.
Hum!
It vibrated heavily with every pulse.
"So this is the Domain Dungeon," Caelus muttered under his breath.
This was exactly where players farmed their armor. It felt completely different from the chaotic, blood-soaked environment of a rift.
Caelus walked closer to the center. He studied the crystal for a moment.
"I think we need to touch it," Caelus said.
Sylvia nodded and moved beside him.
Together, they reached out and pressed their hands against the cold surface.
The moment they made contact, brilliant golden lines erupted across the crystal. The light shot outward, traveling along the four bridges like a glowing circuit.
The Domain Dungeon was now active!
Caelus and Sylvia stepped back.
The fog at the end of the bridges began to shift violently. Thick silhouettes slowly appeared within the white mist.
[Ding! Wave 1 has begun!]
From two separate bridges, Burly Rabbits charged forward, baring their oversized fangs.
From another bridge, a pack of Red Fog Wolves emerged. Their crimson eyes glowed as they rushed toward the platform with savage howls.
Caelus and Sylvia simply smiled.
"Sylvia, handle the Burly Rabbits," Caelus instructed calmly. "I will take care of the Red Fog Wolves."
"Okay," Sylvia replied with a sweet smile.
Without another word, they sprang into action.
Caelus raised his hand. He activated Star King’s Sword Vault.
Golden circles rippled in the air above him. A barrage of star swords materialized and shot downward like a meteor shower.
The wolves had no time to dodge.
Splurt! Splurt!
The glowing blades pierced cleanly through their skulls and spines. Blood erupted from their bodies, painting the white stone red as they collapsed.
[Ding! You have successfully eliminated a Common Red Fog Wolf (Level 10).]
[You have obtained +15 EXP.]
[You have obtained 5% Origin Power.]
[Origin Power: 5%]
The notifications repeated rapidly as more wolves fell.
Caelus kept moving. He fired another barrage of star swords, cutting down the remaining pack before they could even reach the platform.
On the other side, Sylvia casually slit her wrist.
Blood poured freely from the wound as she activated Sanguine Genesis. The crimson liquid hardened instantly into razor-sharp javelins.
She thrust her hand forward.
Whoosh!
The blood javelins tore through the air and skewered the charging Burly Rabbits.
Puchi! Puchi!
They dropped dead instantly.
No notifications appeared for the rabbits. They had already exhausted the available experience from that specific monster species.
With the final rabbit dead, the dungeon fell completely silent.
The central crystal vibrated.
[Wave 1 Cleared.]
[Proceed to Wave 2?]
[Yes] [No]
[Choose one Restoration Reward.]
[Restore HP] [Restore MP]
"Oh?" Caelus looked at the second notification with surprise.
Restoration rewards were incredibly useful. They had just expended a decent amount of MP. As they always said, the Origin Ascension Domain was fair, and it was showing it right now.
"We should restore MP," Caelus said, glancing at Sylvia.
Sylvia nodded. Neither of them had taken a single hit. Restoring their energy was the obvious choice.
Caelus selected the option.
A warm light enveloped them. His Chaos Axiom Energy completely refilled.
Using Star King’s Sword Vault twice had left him with 50 MP. He was now back to a perfect 100 out of 100.
Sylvia’s energy expenditure was even lower. Her Blood Generation trait was buffed by her talent, making her mana management effortless.
"Let us keep going," Caelus smiled.
He selected Yes.
The golden lines flared up again.
[Ding! Wave 2 has begun!]
This time, the monsters charging out of the fog were Level 11 instead of 10.
Monster Combat Scores generally scaled at roughly twice their level. These beasts possessed around 22 Combat Score.
They were stronger, but Caelus and Sylvia were absolute monsters in comparison.
Boom!
Caelus activated Star King’s Sword Vault again.
Twenty-five MP vanished. Golden swords rained down like a storm, tearing through the wolves and pinning them to the floor.
[Ding! You have successfully eliminated a Common Red Fog Wolf (Level 11).]

Sylvia formed more blood spears. She fired them in rapid succession, pinning the Burly Rabbits to the stone bridges. Since there were more wolves this time, she launched a few stray spears to help Caelus clear his side.
Blood pooled continuously on the platform before being absorbed by the central crystal.
[Wave 2 Cleared.]
They selected the MP restoration again and immediately started Wave 3.
The difficulty this time spiked more.
Monsters poured out in triple the numbers.
They were all surprisingly Level 14.
Caelus activated Sword Vault twice in rapid succession.
Caelus intercepted a wolf leaping toward Sylvia’s blind spot. Sylvia launched a blood spear to impale a rabbit trying to flank Caelus.
[Wave 3 Cleared.]
They restored their MP and pushed forward.
Wave 4 began.
This time, monsters swarmed from all four bridges simultaneously. The pressure increased heavily.
Caelus burned through his mana. He used Star King’s Sword Vault three times in a row.
Golden light flashed violently. Blood sprayed across the pristine white floor. Severed limbs and crushed bodies piled up rapidly at the chokepoints. The next group of beasts arrived before the previous corpses could even disappear.
Sylvia did not even need to think. Her blood constructs formed instantly, slicing through throats and piercing hearts.
Halfway through the massacre, a golden light washed over them.
[Ding! You have leveled up!]
[Level: 12 -> 13 (0/2,600)]
[Combat Score: 48.5 -> 51.5]
Origin Power flooded Caelus’s body. His muscles tightened. His bones grew denser. His senses sharpened significantly.
Sylvia experienced the exact same breakthrough.
Their movements became a blur. Caelus fired another barrage of star swords, wiping out the remaining stragglers before they could even react.
[Wave 4 Cleared.]
After restoring their MP one last time, Caelus initiated the next wave.
[Ding! Wave 5 has begun!]
This wave was long. More monsters flooded the bridges without end and the amount was something the previous ones couldn’t compare to.
Caelus instantly spammed his Sword Vault.
Midway through the slaughter, a new prompt appeared.
[Ding! You will no longer receive EXP or Origin Power from Red Fog Wolves.]
He saw it coming, but he did not care.
They had already accumulated 1,453 EXP out of the 2,600 needed for Level 14. Their Origin Power was completely maxed out at 100%. They had farmed enough for today.
On that note, his mana was now emptied out. Star King’s Sword Vault was a good AOE skill but it was not cost effective especially in a grinding dungeon like this.
However, he had his ascended body and aura that granted him a lot of stamina.
His fists were enough for these monsters.
He cracked his knuckles and charged forward.
Bang!
His fist slammed directly into a charging wolf’s face. The beast’s skull caved in with a sickening crunch.
He moved like lightning. He grabbed a Burly Rabbit by its oversized ears and slammed it brutally into the stone floor, shattering its spine.
Splurt!
He drove his bare hand straight through the chest of another wolf, ripping its heart out.
Blood and flesh splattered all over his clothes. He was completely caught up in the thrill of the kill, ignoring the blood entirely.
Finally, the last beast dropped dead as notifications rang.

Caelus wiped the wolf blood from his face.
"We should extract for now and see what we get," Caelus said, glancing at Sylvia.
Sylvia nodded, dissolving her blood weapons. "I agree."
Caelus immediately selected Extract.
[Dungeon Completion Reward is forming.]
The central crystal suddenly shined brighter than ever before. Golden light gathered intensely at its core.
The light swirled and condensed. Particles coalesced into a physical object, floating gently in the air before them.
Caelus immediately reached his hand toward it.
