Chapter 239: Level 9 Red Fog Wolf! The True Dangers of Misty Wood And An Ancient Ruin
Sylvia nodded. Caelus smiled. They began extracting.

The notification rang three times. Power surged into Caelus.

However, just as quickly, more rushed out of the misty woods.
"Are these rabbits endless?" Caelus cursed.
Almost 15 of them rushed toward him. Caelus did not hesitate; he used Star King’s Sword Vault.

The air above him rippled with golden light as swords tore out from it, tearing through the air and smashing into the rabbits. Blood spewed across the ground like a fountain.

The EXP gained had reached 10 EXP now, since the base EXP given was five.

Sylvia nodded. Before they moved on, they extracted.

Unfortunately, they did not obtain any essence. It seemed like along with the EXP and Origin Power hitting 0, the extraction of essence also hit 0. The power system of this world was incredibly fine-tuned. It was probably because most of the people had an extraction power to take essence.
At the same time, they got a notification.

Into the Fog
They began walking deeper into the Misty Wood. The mist around the place became even denser than before as they continued walking.
"Hold onto me, Caelus."
Sylvia swiftly held her arm out, which Caelus quickly grabbed. They walked together, holding onto each other tightly, before a red eye lit up in the fog.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
The sound of strong legs hitting the ground rang out as the fog slightly parted around the red eyes, revealing a wolf.
It was a Red Fog Wolf. It bared its teeth as a powerful presence erupted from it. It was a level 9 Red Fog Wolf with wind-related abilities.
It let out a howl as it charged. Beams of arrows formed around it, becoming increasingly faster. This was its first buff ability, Charge, which increased attack speed. Wind Blade, another signature ability of it, was used as blades sliced through the air, going straight for Caelus.
It was fast. Caelus would not be able to deflect it.
Sylvia stepped in. A blood shield formed as she used Sanguine Genesis and her Blood Generation trait. Just as quickly, it converted into a giant hammer. Sylvia moved like the wind as she closed in on the wolf.
She let out a small grunt as she jumped into the air. With her hands on the hammer, she struck it down fiercely.
Boom!
The wolf fell down in an instant. Its head burst into blood, dying.

"What the hell? That thing is way too fast," Caelus mumbled under his breath. "This place is dangerous. We just stepped in and already encountered the top of the food chain."
Caelus sighed. At the same time, he saw it had dropped something. He recognized it right away. It was a system configuration! Sylvia surprisingly did not have a system configuration, hence he gave it to her, and the one she got was a drop rate one as well.
They extracted but didn’t get anything.
Just then, they felt a banging on the ground. They frowned.
"What is that?" Caelus inquired curiously. Could it be a rare beast, or even an apex?
Caelus became excited. The higher the rarity, the higher the rewards!
"Let us go see what it is."
Sylvia nodded. They began moving through the fog blindly. They had no idea where they were going, but they knew they would find something in here.
And what do you know? It was a door in the middle of nowhere.

"What do you think, Sylvia?"
"We should go in. We might get more Origin Credits."
The thought of Origin Credits made Caelus excited. She was right. This place must have an immense amount of Origin Credits waiting.
Since that was the case, he would go in. They chose ’Y’.
Their figures flickered, and they entered the hidden ruin.
