Clang! CRACK! Clang! CRACK!

The heavy sword rose to the skies and fell like divine punishment. The celestial blue of its blade had its own light, illuminating all the darkness of the night. Successive blows, with the weight of several mountains, crashed down upon the demon at an abnormal speed.

He was forced to defend himself with only a fraction of the Qi he normally possessed, and attacking was just as difficult. As he blocked, from a blind spot that shouldn’t exist, a violet shadow emerged, cutting him with precision.

The duo attacked without giving any chance to breathe or think. Wounds accumulated on the demon’s physical body. He, a millennia-old being who was a living legend and possessed divine cultivation, was being overwhelmed by two young humans.

Although the damage was superficial, he felt his meridians slowing down more and more. At the same time, he realized that his two opponents were quickly running out of steam. How could they be so strong? And why were they attacking so suicidally?

Ruri was so fast and imperceptible that the demon only noticed her in the midst of the struggle with the whale when it was already too late. Meanwhile, the whale, with each block, made the demon feel a bloodline suppression that shook his entire existence. This human’s lineage was clearly inferior to his, so why was he feeling this?

Alm and Bruno entered the demon’s mind; they were a cunning and villainous adversary, accustomed to selling the fight first in the enemy’s mind. They were creating fears and illusions that blended with realities.

Their attacks alongside Ruri were like a wild gale over an imposing mountain; no matter where the demon looked, the duo seemed to inexorably walk towards death every second. But their power was so abnormal, and their determination to attack without caring about the consequences created an irrational fear and doubt within him.

The behemoth rune played a major role in suppressing the demon’s superior bloodline, which should have been impossible. After a few moves and wounds, the whale’s fists began to glow. The demon’s eyes narrowed, and in the next exchange of blows, his heart began to beat uncontrollably.

This time, all the Yin in his body, and even the inactive Holy Light Law, was affected... what the hell was happening? His mind reflected, seeking some logical explanation that he never found.

Alm and Bruno continued to sow fear in the demon step by step. Without needing to exchange a single word, Ruri and the whale seemed to convey their intentions to each other instantly.

With a deafening roar, Fides attacked with all his strength, using a quantity of Qi three times greater than normal. The demon took a step back, confused, and then prepared to block the sneaky strike of the katana; but the blow didn’t come.

Too late, he realized, as the moonlight was cut off, the skies collapsed into a black wave, and a suffocating draconian presence enveloped him.

’Dragon... dragon breath?!’ He thought as he was struck by an overwhelming force that surged from the void.

Alm and Bruno watched as Runula and Deryu unleashed all their power and Qi at once. They were gigantic and physically powerful, capable of facing any adversary for Ruri. But in focused fights, their utilities were even more remarkable.

With the help of the formation they gained in the heavenly realm, the two could join forces and unleash all their energy at once. It was a devastating and singular blow. Ruri could cover and prepare them before releasing them from their bestial world. As soon as they emerged, they attacked immediately with abnormal potency. It was a hidden card that could defeat anyone in the same realm as Ruri if used at the right moment. However, for this demon, it would only be a superficial wound.

But... the psychological effect of the pain caused by the black flames suddenly burning him was noticeable.

The demon emerged amidst the flames, completely distraught. He couldn’t find the human woman, only the whale. When he exchanged a glance with it, he saw only an endless abyss. Yet, he remained calm and indifferent, as if he could draw more and more increasingly bizarre surprises infinitely.

"FUCK!!" The demon roared, directly burning all his behemoth bloodline.

It was a method frequently used by Alm and Bruno in the past, but currently, they possessed more effective techniques and strategies. The demon burned his bloodline in the meridians to summon a substitute power for the Qi that couldn’t circulate rapidly. This was a desperate action, capable of being used only once, but it allowed him to unleash a total blow equivalent to his superior cultivation. He was confident he could kill one of them, or even both together.

He didn’t want to make this decision at all. Burning his bloodline would greatly weaken him for months until he recovered. The three demons lived under constant pressure, with the twelve families always watching them for their bloodline at the first opening. Therefore, they were always desperate to find ways to strengthen themselves to defend against them. Creating descendants was just a gamble, as was trying to enter divine sects. Any resource at their disposal was used, and being weak for months would mean giving an opening for the enemy to act.

Alm and Bruno were aware of this fact. The abyss demon had been turned into a puppet by them, and his memory was read while the people of the city and Ruri were rebuilding their bodies. The plan was conceived after that.

The entire area sealed by the forest’s spatial formation was engulfed by a power that should not exist on an ascending planet. The divine cultivation in the Spirit Fusion was pushed to the limit, along with the burned lineage. It didn’t take long for the yellowish light of the laws of the earth to merge with the demonic Yin, heralding an apocalyptic strike.

Alm saw that and smirked sinisterly. It was the technique that the behemoth’s avatar created, and the three demons who were its children trained it from birth. Alm knew the entire technique, and he spoke dryly: ’When someone loses their head, they always resort to what is most familiar and primitive to them; their body and mind act on instinct alone.’

The whale raised Fides high with an indifferent expression. Bruno controlled the body, and the faith rune was activated to the limit. At the same time, the earth rune and the Yin tattoo pulsed, with Alm controlling them.

That was the advantage of having two souls, and only they could do it this way. They triggered multiple runes and techniques simultaneously, without any side effects and in sync.

No words needed to be transmitted to Ruri. The two pets had already returned to the bestial world, and she emerged in the sky. Her dress lit up, and a storage seal was released, covering her with an absurd amount of earth laws, forming a dense defense.

The demon and the whale roared and lunged for the attack simultaneously.

Fides pulsed in the skies; simultaneously, the faith rune synchronized with this pulsing. In the midst of the movement, the entire blade of the heavy sword lit up, and something akin to celestial blue flames emerged.

After gaining extensive knowledge about the power of faith, Bruno understood how to use the Celestial Flame technique he developed when they needed to escape to the underworld (Chapter 355).

The Celestial Flame could easily subdue inert laws, as they did with spatial power before. However, this was not its primary function; its main purpose was not against laws. These flames, created from something that shouldn’t possess offensive power, aggressively interacted with something no cultivator could imagine having any influence in battle: karma.

Evil living beings with sinister karma served as fuel for these flames. They didn’t transmit heat or discomfort; but as they approached this type of karma, they became dense and equally sinister. The flames didn’t burn physically; instead, they attacked the soul, mind, and life force according to the wickedness of the enemy.

Now, Fides possessed the power to affect the physical with its weight, while the flames would consume the three vital energies of any deserving enemy.

"Burn," the words slowly came out of the whale’s mouth, and the impact happened next.

RUMBLE!!!

Waves of divine-level destructive Qi engulfed the entire sealed area, leaving no space to escape. Ruri, surrounded by earth defenses, felt everything around her crack before just this residual wave.

The demonic claws, enveloped in Yin and earthly power, clashed with the heavy sword. At first contact, the whale’s entire skin exploded in blood. They immediately stepped back, almost collapsing... but...

"AHHHH!!"

Suddenly, screams of despair and pain echoed as if the demon were being tortured in hell. The flames made direct contact with him, and his entire soul, mind, and life force began to burn from the inside out. A pain beyond what a living being could endure coursed through his body.

At the same instant, the Yin tattoo and the earth rune pulsed. Alm attacked precisely, knowing exactly the point and the right moment. By studying that technique, he immediately understood all its flaws. Yin mastery was his specialty, and no one could claim to know more than they did in that aspect. As for the laws of the earth, they possessed a rune created by the behemoth himself in their bodies. This gave him a clear understanding of the weakest point in the union of the two laws. And that was the moment of mental and physical instability perfectly carved out by them.

CRACK!

Ruri heard a thunderous sound of rupture, and all divine power evaporated abruptly. Anxiously, she quickly dissipated her defenses and looked ahead.

Then, with excitement, she glimpsed her master, lifting the demon’s body pierced by his sword. With a single thought, that demon could explode into a bloody mist; however, unfortunately, they needed him alive. It was infinite bad luck for the demon, as Alm and Bruno would make him wish for death, never being able to reach it.

After invading his soul, they turned the demon into a second puppet. The spatial rune lit up, and the nearly moribund demon was placed in the spatial inventory.

Ruri then approached the whale with a radiant smile. Alm and Bruno turned to her, without saying a word; it was the first time the duo fought with everything together. Now, it wasn’t just the whale trying to protect her while she tried to help without overburdening them. Ruri was as important and essential as they were and contributed equally to the victory.

Without her mental power, it was impossible to win. The cultivation difference between the whale and the demon was two realms, but Ruri was much closer in cultivation, allowing her attack power to penetrate him. The whale’s defenses were abnormal only because of his bloodline, and he was the support. This battle was only successful because it was a very specific situation, and even then, it only worked because Alm knew the flaw in the demon’s technique.

They fought together in perfect harmony, understanding each other without the need for words. Ruri’s fighting style was taught by them, but she adapted it for her own use; still, the two could discern her intentions just by her fluctuations, and the same happened on her side.

Alm and Bruno exchanged proud glances with her, accompanied by a sense of comfort. Her specialty was exactly what they lacked. They complemented each other, and together, they had a terrifying ability to face any challenge.
