Ruri floated in the air with her eyes closed in total concentration, all the first-level runes of the formation extinguished and dissolved into space. Her mental power radiated intensely, and soon, her two inner runes were activated. She began to merge with space subtly, her presence becoming so imperceptible that it would shock any observer.

It was at this moment that the whale placed Quitera and Fey inside the spatial inventory; both could stay there for a few hours without any issues. Alm and Bruno breathed deeply, focused.

Quitera’s connection with the demon was completely severed. They knew he certainly had plans to use her, so he wouldn’t remain inactive and would go directly to where he last sensed her location.

Silent seconds passed as the skies tinged with orange hues, marking the end of the day. Minutes passed, and everything seemed calm, but the whale smiled, and the earth beneath his feet cracked as a colossal weapon emerged in his arms.

A swing of Fides caused heavens and earth to part. Now, with the physical cultivation of the second level complete, they could wield this sword more easily for a considerable period. They were no longer limited to a few movements.

BOOM!

The massive sword cleaved through the air, striking a shadow that seemed invisible. The entire forest floor trembled and its trees vibrated. Now, shrouded in the twilight of the early evening, a bright light suddenly emerged, like a divine sun.

Alm and Bruno smiled. They already knew a bit about this law; trying to approach them stealthily? The result was the figure taking several steps back with widened eyes.

The light faded, and a demon of proportions and size very similar to the abyssal demon appeared. Its only difference was its aura with a very intense Yang presence. The behemoth bloodline was prominent in the laws of the earth but also in Yin and Yang. The three demons had a bloodline greater than the whale running through them, so manipulating Yang things even as a demon wasn’t difficult.

The demon was completely taken aback and felt his whole body compelled to retreat with a subtle pain. He never imagined that a youth in the Elemental Condensation Realm could perceive him.

It was in that second that his eyes narrowed. All the spatial laws around vibrated, and then endless runes emerged. He looked at the runes and it was as if a lightning bolt struck him. The level of spatial laws of these runes couldn’t exist on this planet. He quickly connected the dots. The abyss was attacked and its seal was destroyed... now these runes, which he knew existed in the abyss towers, emerged...

It was just a second of quick thoughts, and suddenly all space closed in on itself into a formation of unbelievable level for his eyes. He knew almost nothing of spatial laws like any ascending cultivator, so a high-level formation trapped him so quickly that he had no reaction. The demon turned to the whale seriously, he stood there looking with an expression of extreme absurdity. What was this weak human planning?

"What’s up? Feeling our destined bond? Knew you wouldn’t disappoint. Yeah! We’re family!" The whale said excitedly. "Didn’t our other brother tell you? Well, never mind. Family should always help each other."

The demon felt something off and heavy in the air around the whale. It took a second for him to feel the hellish laws pulsating in him along with his behemoth bloodline. His shock only increased.

"You! It was you who did that in the abyss?!" The demon spoke, surprised.

The whale smiled. "Hm? Talking about the party our brother threw? He didn’t invite you, but don’t worry, I came personally to meet brother. Then I’ll visit that house of yours in the forest. Unfortunately, I need a lot of resources... brother won’t mind if I pluck a few trees, right?"

The demon scoffed dryly. If he doesn’t want to talk, just rip it from his memories. "With just you? Your weapon seems special, but it’s just an external power. You got used to being called a genius by others and can’t even sense my cultivation and the difference between us... well, never mind, where’s my puppet?"

"Talking about my mom?" The whale spoke with a sinister smile.

Suddenly, the demon stopped stunned. He carefully observed the whale’s bloodline power and Yin laws; such density... he could only truly be her lost son! A macabre grin spread across his lips, thinking that, being her son, he would be compatible and excellent fertilizer for the incubating body his descendant was nurturing. Despite being a human, everything about him seemed high-level.

The demon’s lips moved excitedly. "Excellent..."

Slash!

Midway through his words, only a sharp sound echoed in his ears. He reflexively looked around, but saw or felt nothing. Then, a bitterness rose in his throat, and as he lowered his gaze, he shockingly saw a curved blade piercing through his chest.

He only realized now, a physical and small presence on his back. How did I not feel it approach? His mind was a mess. Then, he turned to the front, feeling the earth and the skies churn as the gigantic heavy sword descended towards him.

Quickly, without thinking, he activated all his cultivation. Despite being caught off guard, it posed no danger. Just use his power and everything... In that second, he felt as if venomous snakes moved in his meridians along with his Qi.

Fides fell like a celestial mountain onto the demon, who only realized too late what was happening. Upon learning that the whale was Quitera’s son, he let his mind wander to future things, and his senses and emotions clouded his perception. This was a perfect opportunity for Ruri to stealthily approach and strike.

He had no worries, believing that anyone with cultivation below divine realms would never have the power to penetrate his body in this way; at most, they would slightly cut him. However, high-level spatial laws could not be underestimated, and the demon himself had little knowledge of these laws.

This gap and the surprise move were perfectly dug. Although it wouldn’t work again, and the wound didn’t pose a threat to someone at his level, the mental power invaded his meridians and would never let him go free. His Qi now circulated at less than a third of its speed.

The demon was too drained to defend himself, and when Fides arrived, he tried to move his Qi. However, with the poison in his meridians, the movement was sluggish. As a result, he was violently thrown away, feeling all his bones shatter. Then, he crashed into the spatial barrier, making a loud bang.

Alm and Bruno smiled; the first step was a success. Now, they had diminished the enemy’s capabilities. If he could attack with everything, not even with two lives could they survive; the cultivation difference was insurmountable.

Suddenly, the world darkened, and a violent seismic tremor arose. The demonic Yin and the laws of the earth pulsated in all their power. The blood-covered demon rose with a distorted expression.

"YOU BASTARD! DIE!" He roared, and all his Qi was activated... or at least he tried.

A shadow crossed the space suddenly. At the same time, a heartbeat sound echoed along with a primordial domain, and then the whale appeared in front of the demon at an indescribable speed.

The demon felt abnormal pressure coming from two directions, his meridians and core were obstructed, his Qi didn’t respond well to his call. He only managed to move half of what he intended, then attacked with what he had, and his claws slashed through the air.

CRACK!

The result was the sound of metal colliding with an unyielding divine steel wall. The demon’s claws twisted, and his fist crumbled. A roar of pain escaped his lips, making his whole soul tremble.

At the same time, the blade of a katana mercilessly cut his back. This time, he only had a superficial cut, but there was no black demonic blood. Only a violet line appeared on his body and quickly penetrated even deeper into his muscles and body.

Alm and Bruno took steps back and spat out some blood. A perfect duo tactic, which would be impossible for almost all cultivators, was happening before the demon’s stunned eyes.

The dazed black figure staggered back several steps, trying to rationalize everything in shock. If he tried to attack with everything, thanks to the mental power that invaded his body, in a fraction of microseconds, Ruri and the whale would attack immediately. Added to that, the whale had a terrifying earth defense, which he couldn’t even comprehend.

Mental power, unbelievable speed, and invincible defense? How could they accumulate so many incomprehensible things? He thought amazed.

At most, the demon would only manage to move half of what he intended or less. Ruri, with the spatial shadow, and the whale, with the earth domain, could force him to attack prematurely. With the defenses of the primordial power coming from the behemoth rune, Alm and Bruno could block this attack at a great cost. The physical cultivation’s resilience gave him what he needed to endure.

The demon fell into a dark trap, where he couldn’t defeat them. However, this was only temporary. The duo’s resources were limited. The behemoth rune at maximum power could only be used a few times.

Ruri was also consuming an extravagant amount of Qi to use all the speed and attacking power with spatial laws. On the other hand, the demon had much more Qi and endurance than them. Despite the stalemate, the demon still had the advantage.
