Alm and Bruno sat silently beside Ruri and focused on fully recovering; their battle was far from over. Now, they would have to venture into the forest to the extreme west of the continent, where they would find something that had intrigued them since they first heard about it: a strange monolith capable of dominating the minds of all who approached.

There lay the third seal of the behemoth, and surely the other demon resided there, cultivating. The people of Montide and the Moonlight family lived very close to it, and they had a deep connection with mental power; the power of the monolith was no coincidence.

Ruri explained to the whale her discoveries during the investigation and destruction of the Nightflare clan when she was in the sect. The truth was that the small Divinestone clan only managed to invade and dominate her family with the help of the Nightflare. The people of Montide were something coveted by everyone; their talents were well known to the upper echelons of the sect; however, throughout history, it became clear that anyone who tried to take them was suddenly destroyed without a trace.

This was the work of a demon similar to the abyss. The people of Montide lived near his domain, and the demon "protected" them; but obviously, he gained something from it.

The key that triggered the crucial change was the Divinestone Clan. The forest demon found himself unable to destroy them due to a pact established between the sect demon and Denil’s father in the past. This small clan enjoyed immunity to act as they wished; as long as they did not directly attack the demon, he could not retaliate against them.

Only the Obsidian Clan held information about such a pact with the demon. At some point in the scheme, the Nightflare Clan became aware of this agreement. Taking advantage of this, they formed an alliance with Divinestone with the purpose of capturing the people of Montide and using them in an attempt to restore their weakened ancient bloodline.

After this revelation, Ruri directed her anger mainly at the Nightflare Clan. She eliminated them completely, considering them the true responsible ones for everything. Now, the remaining goal was to invade the forest and rescue the rest of her people who remained under the clan’s domain. The forest demon represented the only barrier.

After a brief pause to recover, the whale opened its eyes and retrieved the Fey from the inventory. They needed to resolve this situation quickly.

Ruri set up a spatial formation, concealing it as requested by the whale. Now, the power of the formation was directed not to imprison, but to create a distortion that would allow them to escape if necessary. Defeating this Fey was a completely impossible task.

Alm and Bruno focused on the Fey, which emanated a strange Yin, unusual for its kind. They began to infuse Qi and slowly remove all the seals from its soul and mind. In a few minutes, its body trembled, and its eyes opened abruptly, surprised.

It desperately tried to channel all its cultivation, but its meridians and core were empty, leaving it stunned. Its body and eyes moved quickly, catching the two humans who watched it calmly. Soon, it sighed, speaking calmly:

"Did you set me free?"

The whale nodded gently. "Yes, it was a coincidence. We had unfinished business with whoever did this to you. So, we defeated them, and that ended up setting you free."

The Fey’s eyes expressed doubt; it felt the cultivation of these two humans and couldn’t believe it. The whale, in turn, just huffed and made a confirming gesture. In a matter of seconds, a humanoid female figure appeared.

Alm and Bruno took care to conceal the spatial rune from the inventory with the tattoos. The creator of the technique was sealed on this Fey’s planet; they didn’t want to take any chances. They still had to confirm how much the Chaos Dragon was influencing that planet.

The Fey widened its eyes; it detected no vitality and noticed a deep wound on that body it deemed ’dead.’ Did they really manage to do this? It thought, incredulous.

The whale gently placed Quitera back in the inventory and said, "Don’t dwell on it too much. It was an elaborate plan that we were only able to execute due to luck and other variables."

The Fey now gazed deeply at the whale. He felt the identical bloodline between him and the woman who sealed him. His mind made the connections; they shared the same bloodline, they both should be from the same clan; there should be a mortal conflict between them. Internal problems were common to arise, no matter where.

Due to the identical bloodline, the whale possessed similar techniques that mutually nullified the woman’s abilities; at the same time, he knew her weaknesses. A member of the same clan with such profound knowledge of their abilities was always the worst enemy for a cultivator, making things that seemed unlikely easier to achieve.

He observed the human woman beside the whale and nodded. She had a slightly lower cultivation than the woman, and together they emitted a dense and sharp aura. Just by imagining a fight against them, a subtle pressure arose in his mind. This was an instinct of hidden and uncertain variables about these two... their abilities and talent couldn’t be measured... even though the whale had a low cultivation, a well-thought-out plan and a bit of luck could really defeat the woman.

"You were sealed in a mountain, and we ended up using that to lure the enemy and defeat him. You indirectly helped; thank you for that," the whale concluded, reading the Fey’s thoughts.

He took a deep breath and nodded. "I understand... how long have I been here?"

"About a hundred years," Ruri replied softly.

The Fey huffed heavily in reflection. This time meant nothing to someone with divine cultivation, but it was an extreme humiliation for him. He turned to the two humans and spoke:

"My name is Nafeyu. In the end, you still did me a favor. Thank you."

After a pensive pause, he directed his gaze to the two. "You two are extremely talented and still young. I don’t want to owe anyone. Allow me to take you to my clan. It is located in the divine world, and we are one of the top twenty clans among millions in the universe, called Yinblood. We are special and perfect for ascending cultivators; we don’t possess any Empyrean or heroic bloodline, but we can compete on equal footing with them due to our sacred bloodline heritage. Everyone accepted into the sect can enjoy this. If you come with me, you won’t regret it."

The whale nodded slightly, simulating an internal conflict. After a few seconds, she replied, "I’m grateful for the opportunity. However, our revenge is not yet complete; we need to settle our karma before leaving."

"There are rumors that you came to this planet and attempted to attack a small clan, but were stopped. That same clan is part of our vengeance, and we intend to destroy it completely," Ruri said slowly, emanating a determined aura. "So, if you allow us to accomplish this, it will be sufficient."

Nafeyu, the Fey, nodded in understanding. He had come in response to a call indicating that something was amiss in one of the several formations, which existed to create resources for his faction. Someone had stolen what belonged to them, and the formation created with many resources was severely damaged. Rebuilding it would be extremely costly.

"I don’t care what you do. Many years have passed, and the culprit was someone from the divine world; they must have fled far away by now. What happens to this clan is no longer my concern. If you don’t destroy them, the sect will eventually send someone else to punish them," he responded gently and triggered something on his body.

Quickly, a rune appeared on the Fey’s forehead, confirming Alm and Bruno’s suspicions. It was a spatial rune very similar to the one in their inventory. The chaos dragon who created this technique seems to have managed to infiltrate the sect deeply. A version of his technique was left for them.

The two were pleased. Now, going to this Fey’s sect seemed like it would bring them many benefits. They could easily make contact with this primordial chaos dragon. And the system would give them many opportunities to profit and rise.

The Fey retrieved two runes from the inventory; they contained a mixture of Yin and spatial power. The runes floated towards the two. Nafeyu spoke softly:

"You two possess astonishing talent and are worth recruiting. When you manage to fulfill your objectives on this planet, use your Qi on this rune. I will sense it and come to fetch you for my sect if you so desire. I am part of an important faction in the sect and can guarantee a good position and resources for you to enjoy. You will hardly have as many privileges in another clan, but the choice is yours."

Ruri and the whale nodded and stowed away the runes. Nafeyu also nodded, and the spatial rune on his forehead pulsed. Quickly, a large amount of Qi filled his meridians in seconds. He absorbed something of divine origin that could be used directly, something undoubtedly valuable.

"Well, I’m off. I have a lot of explaining to do to the higher-ups. I hope to recruit you in the future. Goodbye," the Fey said softly before floating away.

Ruri and the whale waved happily, watching Nafeyu silently depart into space. Once he was gone, Ruri smiled excitedly and said,

"Deryu said desperately that he felt the bloodline of a true Dragon in him."

The whale nodded. "It’s a primordial Dragon, just like the behemoth, sealed on that Fey’s planet. Now that we’ve made a connection with him, we have a valuable escape route. Joining that sect in the future seems like a good choice."

Ruri nodded eagerly and anxiously. She knew they would go to the divine world sooner or later; now they were very close to it and already had a place to go. However, there were still many dangerous things to face and survive before that.

Ruri had plenty of time to meditate alone about herself. Reflecting on her entire life, she realized that there was something deeply ingrained in her: an endless will. She never quite knew why, but she realized that her soul was clamoring and seeking something. No matter the hell she lived through, she had to continue this search.

But... as soon as her master accepted her as a disciple, this search seemed to magically cease. Soon, with his help, all her will seemed to find its true path; she had to save her people.

She couldn’t leave without resolving her issues with the Empyrean family bearing the same name as her clan. They were her ancestors, but they used them for their own nefarious purposes; this family committed all kinds of evil, creating infinite karma, all of which was being dumped on her people. She clenched her fists with strong conviction and focused on the next goal ahead.
