Chapter 95: Regeneration

Veronica and Liora exchanged a glance before finally nodding slightly.

The moment they began treating him, a sigil appeared on their foreheads, and their auras synced in resonance.

Once the connection between them was complete, they raised their hands in unison and activated Regeneration magic.

A magic circle emerged before them, and green mana flowed toward Ren like a sparkling stream.

Where his arm had been severed, new muscles began to grow and knit together from the wound.

Ren watched the process closely as this was the first time he had seen Regeneration magic in person.

Not only him, but Lily and the others also paid close attention.

Lily and David even looked at the magic in amazement.

They had heard about Regeneration magic before, but seeing it directly made them realize that it was far more amazing than they had imagined.

A moment later, his left arm had fully reformed.

Ren opened and closed his fingers once, testing it silently. He then channeled his energy into it and found no difference.

Everything felt exactly the same as if his left arm had never been severed.

"Done!" Veronica deactivated the magic. "How is it?"

"It feels exactly the same." He was so happy deep inside.

"Great!" Veronica was glad everything had gone smoothly.

"Thank you, teacher Veronica. Thank you, Liora." He expressed his gratitude.

Veronica smiled softly while Liora placed her tiny hands on her waist and grinned widely.

"Wow! You are really incredible, teacher Veronica!" Even though Lily was not her student, she still called her teacher.

"It’s all thanks to Liora." Veronica gave the credit to her spirit.

"Hehe." The grin on Liora’s face grew bigger.

"Tha...thank you, teacher Veronica." Elara also thanked her.

"Oh! You also thank me, Elara?" Veronica was startled before finally teasing her. "It seems like she really loves you, Ren."

Elara’s face flushed red instantly.

She didn’t say anything, but she didn’t deny it.

"Haha!" David and Lily laughed.

"Then, I will leave now." Their job had been done, so Liora decided to return to her world.

After waving her hand, she vanished into thin air.

They continued talking.

At 09:30 am, Aria left.

On her way to her office, she called Cassandra through her car’s system.

"Hello, leader?" Cassandra picked up the phone.

"Cassandra, we don’t need that healing mage anymore." Aria went straight to the point.

Cassandra was confused. "What do you mean, leader? I don’t understand it."

"Veronica has treated him." Aria’s voice remained steady, but a trace of unhappiness flashed in her eyes. "She used Regeneration magic to reform his arm."

"What?!" Cassandra was shocked. "Did the Ashford family ask for her help?"

"His teacher is Veronica." Aria gave a short explanation.

Cassandra was surprised once more. "How could someone like him know her? Didn’t he grow up in the orphanage?"

"Sylvie introduced her to him," Aria answered. "I will hang up now. Go tell that mage that we don’t need him anymore."

"Understood," Cassandra replied.

At the same time, Ren was talking with Veronica and the others. His mood was much better than before because he had gotten his left arm back.

"Ren, I think I have found the solution to perfecting your skill." Veronica didn’t show the formations and only shared the good news with him.

"Really?" Ren’s heart throbbed with happiness.

"Yes." She nodded slightly. "So, hurry up and get well. We will try the formation as soon as you’re ready."

"Let’s do it tomorrow." Actually, he wanted to try it immediately, but the doctor forbade him from using his power before he was fully recovered.

"Sure." Veronica agreed.

Fifteen minutes later, she left to handle some matters in her organization.

Ren turned to Sylvie and asked, "Mrs. Sylvie, how do you know them?"

He could not suppress the curiosity in his heart, so he decided to ask about it.

"We met inside the gate several times," Sylvie gave an honest answer. "After that, we started hanging out often. But I rarely saw them again after I stopped being active as an awakener."

"Hang out frequently? Does that mean you didn’t hate each other back then?" he threw another question at them.

"No." She shook her head. "The reasons why their relationship went so badly are very complicated. If you are curious about it, you should ask them yourself. After all, you know them too."

The corner of his lips twitched.

’Are you asking me to get myself killed by them?’

He shouted in his head.

"Hehe." Sylvie giggled when she saw his expression.

They continued talking.

Two hours later, Sylvie and her daughter went home.

At 06:30 pm, Alessia visited them, but she didn’t stay long.

Just as she was about to go home after leaving the patient room, Virelia chased her and took her to a quiet place.

Alessia was startled but still followed her.

When Virelia finally stopped, Alessia asked curiously, "What’s wrong? Why did you take me here?"

"Aunt, do you have an intermediate-rank lightning spell book?" Virelia wanted to give something to Ren as a token of gratitude for saving her life.

"I’m an ice mage. You should not ask that to me." Alessia suddenly recalled something. "Why don’t you go to the Eclipse Auction House the day after tomorrow? They will auction an intermediate-rank lightning spell book there."

"Really?" Virelia’s face lit up.

Alessia nodded.

"Thank you for the information, aunt," Virelia said cheerfully.

"Then, I will leave now." Alessia needed to attend a party, so she needed to go home quickly.

"Be careful on the way!" Virelia waved her hand with a big smile on her face.

Once Alessia disappeared into the distance, Virelia returned to the patient room.

"Why did you chase your aunt?" Ren asked curiously.

"I had something to ask her," she didn’t explain further. "Guys, how about we go to the Eclipse Auction House in two days? My aunt said they would auction something good there."

"Auction house?" Lily and David’s eyes shone brightly.

They had heard about it countless times, but had never visited one since they were poor.

"Something good?" Ren touched his chin.

"How is it? Do you want to go together?" Virelia repeated her question.

"Yes!" Lily and David replied in unison.

"Hehe." Virelia turned to them and giggled softly. "It looks like some people are really interested."

"Sure." Ren agreed as well.

He had quite a lot of money in his space ring.

Maybe he could find something good there.

"Then, it’s decided!" Virelia still hadn’t told him that she was going to buy him a spell book.

Shortly after that, Lily and David went home.

----

The moon set and the sun rose.

When most people went to work, Ren and Elara returned home. They didn’t go to their organization.

They used their time to relax and enjoy the moment.

At 03:10 pm, they traveled to Sylvie’s coffee shop.

To their surprise, they saw Ravenna there.

Ren already knew her identity, so Veronica brought Ravenna to build a good relationship with him.

After enjoying coffee and chatting for around twenty minutes, they headed to the backyard for a lesson.

Veronica quickly took out all the formations she had created and gave them to Ren. "Here, try it."

Ren shifted into his partial transformation and tried them one by one.

*Bzzzttt...

The first formation failed as the lightning only struck the surface of the training dummy.

He tried the second one, and the result was the same.

When he was about to test the third formation, Sylvie walked toward them with Aria and Cassandra.

’Leader? Instructor?’

He was startled, as it was the first time they had come to his training session.

Ravenna’s expression turned displeased as soon as she saw Cassandra.

Cassandra had punched her in the face during the test, so anger flared within her when she caught sight of her.

On the other side, Veronica’s lips curled up into a smile.

She was not surprised by their arrival.

After all, their organizations were at odds.

’It seems she is still worried that I will try to persuade him to join my organization.’

She could tell their intentions right away.

"Oh! You are here?" Cassandra was startled.

She thought she would only see Veronica.

Never did she expect to meet Ravenna as well.

"Hmf!" Ravenna crossed her arms over her chest and turned her face away in annoyance.

"Guys, we have new guests here." Sylvie tried to lighten the mood. "Aria, Cassandra, you can sit here."

Aria ignored Sylvie and turned to Ren. "How is the progress?"

"Good," Ren replied. "Leader, I never expected you to come here."

"I happened to be around here," Aria lied.

She deliberately made time to watch his training because she wanted to see the progress. And she also felt uneasy leaving him alone with Veronica.

"I see." He could tell that she was lying, but he said nothing about it. "Then, I will continue my training."

"Un." Aria nodded.

Blue lightning enveloped his arms as Ren activated the formation in his mind. The moment he attacked the training dummy, the lightning didn’t surge inside it from his claws.

’Failed again.’

He approached Veronica and sat beside her.

"Teacher, I think this symbol is the problem." Ren pointed his right index finger at one of the symbols.

"What makes you think so?" Veronica asked.

"I could not control my lightning anymore the moment my claws met the target." He began explaining everything in detail.

"I see," Veronica said.

Aria sat next to him and grabbed one of the books.

"Hmm?" Veronica’s lips curled up into a playful smile. "What is this? Do you plan to help him, too?"
