Chapter 365: Chapter 327: A Different World (2)
The Black Cat stood on a wall sconce, its gaze melancholic as it watched Wen Ying. It had clearly recognized the human before it.
But it didn’t approach her as it would any other human.
Instead, it stood there from a distance, watching Wen Ying without saying a word.
When Wen Ying saw the Black Cat, a smile spread across her face. "Little Black, I didn’t expect to find you here. I’ve been looking for you for a long time."
The Black Cat looked at Wen Ying, still refusing to speak.
"Little Black, aren’t you coming down? Don’t you want any dried fish?"
At the mention of dried fish, the Black Cat’s expression shifted slightly, but it still didn’t move.
"Little Black, am I not your friend anymore?"
Hearing this, the Black Cat grew indignant. "Meow! Meow! You’re a bad human! A very bad human!"
"Why didn’t you tell me? You took all the food! You made this kitty take all the blame! You have ill intentions! You’re using me! This kitty won’t fall for it again!"
If it weren’t for the fact that it was no match for Wen Ying, it would have already taught this lying human a lesson.
"Little Black, did I ever tell you I was only taking a little?"
The Black Cat thought about it, thought about it carefully, and finally came to a conclusion. ’It seems this human never said that.’
Regardless, this human had still deceived it!
Hmph!
"I never said how much I was taking, so I could take any amount. I didn’t deceive you. How could I ever deceive my friend?"
’This detestable human is too good with words, and I can’t even beat her. I’m not listening!’
"I did take it, but didn’t I also help you deal with the Kobolds?"
Hearing this, the Black Cat tilted its head up, refusing to look at Wen Ying.
It was clearly still angry.
’This human is too cunning!’
’Who knows what her intentions are with these words? She’s probably just planning to keep using me!’
’I absolutely cannot believe a single word this human says!’
"Little Black, where is the head nurse’s office?"
The Black Cat held its head high, still not speaking.
Silence. Silence filled the old castle today.
Amid the silence, the Black Cat lowered its head to look at Wen Ying, wondering why this woman had suddenly gone quiet.
’Is she feeling guilty...?’
Meow.
"The head nurse’s office is on the second floor, in the west wing. Not that you humans would dare to go, anyway!"
After saying this, the Black Cat turned and ran off.
Wen Ying headed to the second floor, making her way to the west. She had originally thought this area only consisted of the rooms she had already seen, but she was surprised to find an iron door at the end of the hallway.
The iron door wasn’t locked. Wen Ying distinctly remembered not seeing it before.
But now she saw it. ’Could it be that I triggered some keyword for the door to appear?’
She pushed the door open, and a sudden brightness appeared. It felt like a different world from the old castle.
Stepping inside, she found herself in a bright corridor filled with a cacophony of sounds. It seemed very lively.
There were indeed nurses walking about, and patients running up and down the hallway.
She also saw several nurses grabbing patients and dragging them into rooms together.
The nurses here weren’t just female; there were male nurses as well.
Wen Ying walked toward the group of people, feeling as if she had truly returned to the real world.
"New here?" a nurse suddenly asked, turning to look at Wen Ying with a blank expression.
"I’m looking for the head nurse."
After she spoke, the nurse paid her no more attention and walked away, dragging their patient along.
The patient was wearing a hospital gown, their hair was a rat’s nest, and their cheeks were terribly gaunt. As they passed Wen Ying, they suddenly grabbed her arm.
"Play with me, play with me! I wanna play, I wanna play!"
But they were mercilessly dragged away by the nurse.
Wen Ying looked at the note that had appeared in her palm, glanced at it after opening it, and immediately put it in her pocket.
The note had one word written on it: Run!
The handwriting was crooked and messy, as if written under duress.
’This side seems more interesting than the other one.’
Wen Ying continued forward. Through the small windows on the doors, she could see patients with their limbs tied down, undergoing electric shock therapy.
Other patients were being injected with sedatives.
Some patients who refused to eat were held down, their mouths pried open, and forcefully fed.
All in all, this side was very lively.
Wen Ying walked for about three minutes before she saw a room with a sign that read "Head Nurse’s Office."
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.
After knocking, Wen Ying pushed the door open.
The head nurse was sitting on her desk, gorging on something unidentifiable that lay on the tabletop.
When the door was pushed open, the head nurse abruptly looked up, glaring at the entrance with displeasure.
"You!" The head nurse shot to her feet. "How did you get here?!"
