Chapter 194: First land conquered
Ray’s plan only relied on one thing to work: Speed.
"I will straight go for the king of red wolves; killing it should open the teleporting inside the hurricane for me; the rest of them will be easy."
Since he had been marked by the monster, he had a very fractured connection to it; that was all that Ray needed to gaze upon the red wolf.
The scenery changed as his eyesight shortened the distance between them; the red wolf noticed his gaze too, a pair of yellow eyes staring at him before teleporting itself.
A claw bigger than his own body came from the air. "So fast..." Ray dodged the claw barely, yet the wolf had disappeared too.
Blood needles attacked from all sides randomly; the wolf just took them with no care as its tail cut through the air, landing on Ray’s face.
His wings kept him in the midair, dodging the king awaiting him on the ground. It teleported above Ray with another tail attack, yet this time instead of Ray’s body, Crimson Star’s blade greeted the tail.
Only a small cut was made on the tail, with the crimson star falling to the ground. "Fuck..."
Testing the damage that the bullets did, they were weaker than his blood needles; even Crimson Star couldn’t do anything to anything; the bullets had no chance.
A set of white teeth came from his side; before Ray could react, his arm was gone. Healing the wound, he started to fly in the air randomly in different directions.
It took his hand 4 minutes to grow back again, and with it returned, Ray had already lost his other hand. "It should be level 14; the amount of time I have to spend on healing is a pain in the ass..."
With each strike that he received, his expression became more grim. "It only aims for the places that I can’t react..." Hiding its killing intent, it attacked for smaller parts only to stay hidden.
Around the two, all the red wolves in the area had gathered, making a circle around them.
The red wolf hoped to finish the human with an opening in his back as it teleported to bite him off; a blood spear as heavy as a mountain landed on its head. Teleporting back, its head still hurt. Another spear landed on it again.
Eyes on Ray’s wings instead of looking at the wolf, it stared at the next place it wanted to teleport. If he couldn’t cut his skin, then throwing a ten-ton object on the enemy was going to work.
After another hit to its abdomen, the wolf teleported underneath Ray, the only place he couldn’t hit.
The four spears moved in the air between them; their tips crushed their diamond structure like they were nothing. Between the many small fractures of the diamond, Ray had disappeared.
The liquid inside the weapon started to spin. In an instant, the machine gun in his hand shot off its bullets straight into the eye of the wolf.
It took another second for the wolf to understand the poison entering its body. Its other eye narrowed on Ray.
Its tail went straight for Ray’s throat; however, the poison had already taken effect, and Ray easily dodged the tail. Answering with a blood spear from the sky.
All the other wolves got closer to them, seeing their king in a disadvantage; they were ready to attack Ray if their leader died.
Ray took his time. "The poison shouldn’t paralyze it completely; getting it slower is more than enough..."
One of his spears missed the wolf; in hope of hitting it again, Ray sent two of the ones that floated beneath them.
Using the small opening, the wolf teleported above Ray; its mind was too hazy to remember how the human had hunted its kind.
Two dark claws took the grip of its mouth in the sky, opening it more; the smell of blood and sulfur filled Ray’s nose. The scythe in his hand lightened up as its magic was unleashed inside the mouth of the wolf, burning all of its organs on its path.
With an indifferent face, Ray watched the huge wild animal fall on the ground; before it reached the ground, it was already dead.
You have slain the king of red wolves.
Level: 13
Reward: 5 million dark crystals
You have conquered the southern part of entrance number #9.
"What a weird wording..." Ray read through the message again, checking his magic; he could use blink in almost a third of the hurricane. "But why does it use the entrance like it’s the most important part of this place?"
The system always had its agenda toward stronger people. Ray had noticed that after becoming an ascended, maybe the importance of the tunnels to the second layer was far greater than he thought.
The small side effect that the poison in the air had on his mind vanished away too; Ray could see everything in the area clearly, like the mist didn’t exist.
In the place he gazed at, the king, at first, recognized a crystal farm too; the tribe of the wolves definitely used that to level up. Now Ray had the ownership of that too!
Based on the size alone it could give him 1 million dark crystals each week; without any hesitation, Ray linked his system to the crystal farm, marking it as part of his property.
Wolves gathered around the corpse of their leader; their tribe had lived there for over three centuries with the king leading them. Thousands of yellow eyes in the ground locked on the human in the air. After so long of time growing by their king’s side like a family, they prepared to attack.
Counting them, there are 39 larger ones and near a thousand of the normal ones. Ray expected them to fight among themselves to choose their next leader, but they had gone the other route; all of them showed their teeth.
"Since this is my land from now on, I don’t like you guys in here..." Ray smirked at the free crystals on the ground, waiting to be harvested.
