Chapter 193: Poisonous bullets
When Ray told Cindi to come prepared, he didn’t expect her to bring a team of ten people with her; all of them were in space suits with computers floating in the air around them.
Cindi watched the hurricane with no difference. "What are you going to do?"
Ray asked the 11 people circling around, "Does anyone know the amount of idril’s poison inside one of its feathers?"
Five of them answered at the same time, "1.3 mg."
"So what I’m going to do is simple; I guess all of you know already, but Idril’s gas can exist as gas too!" Ray cleared his throat. "And the hurricane is like a cage for all the poison that they released in there. I will extract the poison out of it and put it into bullets. I want you to shape and sustain them into perfect bullets."
Cibdi thought for a second, "Its poison is strong, but one needs high doses of it to actually affect stronger opponents."
"Those stronger red wolves took 40 to 50 feathers before the poison took effect; let’s see how much I can extract too."
All of them got to work; the first line behind Ray was Cindi herself. She had to separate Ray’s blood and gave her team poison to put it into bullets.
"So why bullets?" Cindi had that in mind after hearing Ray wanting a machine gun and help for making bullets: "I didn’t know you loved automatic weapons."
"Those things are intelligent in their own way; trapping them with a rifle would be easier." Ray sat on the ground; the job was harder than it seemed.
"Essence of the world."
Strings of the idril poison had no movement at all; in the never-ending cycle of the hurricane, they wandered around themselves.
Ray’s blood trapped anything in his eyesight; the problem was he couldn’t teleport them; dragging them back was the only way.
Orbs of blood came out from the hurricane, yet they had already lost half of their size.
"When I kill one of their leaders, it will be the time I will be able to teleport!" Ray had his eye set on the king of red wolves; with enough idril poison, he should have been able to kill it. Yet the process itself for that much idril poison was going to take time.
"There is nothing left here; let’s go." The hurricane moved very slowly, and Ray had pulled everything out in just minutes.
Cindi asked a woman putting silver bullets in boxes, "How many bullets did you guys make?"
"50 bullets. Each with 2 mg of idril poison."
"Wow, this is way faster than my anticipation."
Cindi folded her arms. "My team are all super professionals on Mars."
"Good." Ray’s wings grew. "You guys stay here; I will send them on your way."
The rest of the day passed in an instant with Ray repeating the same task; by the evening, he had taken half of the idril poison, wandering in the air.
When he returned, Cindi’s team had returned; only Cindi with 10 small boxes awaited him.
"1000 bullets, we split as you said."
Ray opened one of the boxes; small bullets made out of silver, each the size of his fingers. "Do you think this is enough for the king of red wolves?"
"If you land most of them, yes." Cindi clearly was unsatisfied with how Ray wanted to do things. "Do you really want to go into the second layer?"
With the change in tone, Ray knew something had irritated her for some time. "Yes."
"My father died in the second layer... not even in the depths of it; something hunted their team and sent his head on a spear, his own spear."
Ray hugged the woman on the brink of tears; he didn’t say anything, just let Cindi stay in his arms.
"I don’t want to lose you in there too; after so long I finally found someone I like..."
Putting a gentle kiss on her forehead, with a calm voice Ray replied, "I’m sorry. But I promise you, I will hunt down whatever did that to your father and bring you its head."
Tears came out of her eyes. "You don’t understand..."
Staying in his arms, after a few minutes Cindi whispered, "Don’t die."
"I won’t."
However, the new information hit Ray straight in the face; if there was something that could kill Cindi’s father and no one had dared to go after revenge, it meant whatever roamed down there was insanely powerful.
Against the creatures inside of the hurricane Ray had his way easily because they were just wild animals; an intelligent hunter with the same comprehension skills as humans could just finish him easily.
"Want to stay with me tonight?"
Cindy took a step back, her eyes still red from crying. "No, I have an important meeting tonight."
Ray held her hand. "I will go into the hurricane tomorrow; it probably takes a few days, after which I will be free for some time." Putting a kiss on her hand, Ray said with a wide smile, "Let’s go on a date."
Cindi’s face turned as red as a tomato. "I should go.... We will talk later."
Leaving a frustrated Ray alone, she teleported back to her lab with her skin still red.
"Now that I look at it, it’s my first date too. " Romance was never his type; although some romance stories seemed good, he never showed any interest in spending his time doing normal stuff.
Returning to his room, the weapon he ordered was already on his table. A machine gun with silencers and a purple liquid that circled around its barrels, using gamma explosions on normal weapons, they had enhanced the speed of bullets by miles.
"This thing can shoot 2500 bullets in a second, a beast on its own." Picking up the machine gun, its weight reached around 80 kilograms. It had cost him around 10 million dark crystals, with the enhancement he wanted, but seeing the final product, he was satisfied.
"Time to hunt."
