Chapter 259: Chapter 259: Nasita Sapienta

They turned and saw Lilith standing behind them. Annie took action immediately, an invisible force descended from the sky.

BOOOOOM, the ground sank by hundreds of metres, they looked to the side and Lilith was standing there smiling.

" Come down little girl, I hear you’re looking for Famine, I can help you find him, perhaps even take him down."

They didn’t respond to her words, Annie simply attacked her again, Adrian watched from the side.

Before long the ground was littered with giant craters but Lilith stood there unharmed without a speck of dust on her body.

" We don’t need your help." Adrian finally answered. Lilith giggled in response and shook her hands.

" Very well little heart, good luck." She blew him a kiss and disappeared. Annie watched where Lilith had been with cold eyes.

" Let go." He grabbed her by the waist and teleported away. He searched the entire country using his left eye ability.

He focused on places where the authority of Famine was the most concentrated, he figured that where Famine would be.

However when he got there, all he found were corpses covered in dark grew maggots eating through them.

It was a large city but everybody including the animals were dead. The vegetation surrounding the city was gone.

All that was left was a barren place without a single spot of green but Famine was not there, at least not anymore.

" He was here, I’m certain of that." He whispered, through his left eye he could see his traces.

Famine was definitely here not long ago, they followed the trail and everywhere it went, death was left behind.

" Strange, it wasn’t like this for the past few years, bad as it was, to an extent people could still manage.

However this will be impossible to hide, I’m afraid the supernatural world might be coming to light soon." Annie frowned with a worried look.

He nodded agreeing with her, " I don’t think that matters anymore, on the contrary, I think it’s time people knew the truth of this world.

However I’m still confused by something, how the hell did humans manage to deal with the extreme hunger brought by Famine for so long?"

To his question, Annie shook her head, " I’m not certain but we might have to visit the central research centre of Azania."

Azania was the strongest power in the human world, it was a leading superpower in scientific research.

He nodded and they teleported to a small island near the cost of the largest continent in the human world.

This island was not registered in any maps, not officially, it was a hidden secret research base.

The two of them sneaked inside undetected, Adrian used compulsion on a scientist working there.

He found out where all the important documents were kept and immediately teleported there.

However instead of a normal human, they found a level 4 Espara sitting behind a desk, the woman raised her glasses and stood up.

Adrian immediately knew this woman was from the Sapienta clan based on the type of Esper inside her plus her golden eyes.

" Lord Adrian, Lady Anele, it’s a pleasure to meet you. We had expected somebody from the High council to arrive but we didn’t it to be you."

Her words caught them by suprise, " You had expected somebody? Why?" Annie asked.

" First, let me introduce myself, my name is Nasita Sapienta, I’m currently the leading scientist in this institute."

" Okay, nice to meet you Nasita, now tell us, why did you expect the High Council to come here?" Adrian was the one to ask that time.

" I assume you know that one of the horseman, Famine is currently roaming the world no?"

They nodded, she continued with her explanation. " This research facility is currently focusing all of its attention to solving that.

At first we thought his authority was entirely supernatural in nature and therefore needed supernatural means to deal with."

Adrian and Annie looked at each with questioning gazes. " Isn’t that the case?" Annie asked.

Adrian was certain that was the case, after all he had seen the authority through his eye and it definitely had the patterns of supernatural elements.

Nasita raised her glasses with a finger, a prideful smirk appeared on her face, all Sapienta were like this.

There was nothing they loved more than flaunting their superior intelligence on others.

" In a sense yes but that isn’t exactly accurate either." She answered but they just got more confused.

" Think of it this way, if a fire user used their esper to set a tree on fire and the flames propagate and spread through the forest.

Are the flames supernatural in nature just because their source is supernatural?" She asked.

Annie immediately shook her head, " The initial flames might be supernatural as their source is esper.

However, unless the user constantly input his esper into the flames to make them larger.

The flames will not be supernatural, they would depend on oxygen and flammable trees like all other flames, without using esper, therefore no longer supernatural, are you saying..."

Nasita nodded, " Yes, the authority of Famine is supernatural in nature that is true but what it used are real things not entirely dependent on esper.

After some research on this matter I..we came to a conclusion, the authority constantly creates three types of bacteria.

Pricotoria, this one is the one that causes the food to rot, how exactly it determines if something is a food source is yet to be figured out.

For example, it won’t target something like a rock but if a Fayera like a troll who can eat rocks try to eat a rock, that rock will rot like normal food.

We believe this is related to the supernatural part of the bacteria, after all they aren’t disconnected from their source.

The second is, Trufell Bacteria, perhaps you saw the world outside, the crops are dying and even the rivers are drying up.

This one is the cause of that, it’s not exactly as dangerous as the first one since its effect are similar to that of a powerful drought.

Then the last one." She paused and sighed, Adrian had a clue what the last one was about.

" The last one is just called the hunger bacteria, as the name implies, it’s the one that causes people to feel ravenous hunger.

This one stays in your gut consuming all the energy you have, by the pay, strength is irrelevant to it.

It can even consume esper, however we’ve also found its weakness, for immortal races such as yourselves who never need food in the first place.

It can’t affect you as much, you might be wondering why I’m explaining all of this to you."

They didn’t respond but she can see it in their eyes. " It’s simple, we need you to deal with Famine."
