Chapter 260: Chapter 260: Human Domain
Neither responded, they had every intention of dealing with Famine and Adrian can track him through his own authority.
But with the help of the Sapienta, they might be able to find him even faster but before any of that, they had more questions.
" I’m still not clear on what the results of your research were, what was your solution to Famine’s authority?" Annie asked.
" Right, when we discovered what he used were just bacteria, we dealt with it the way we’ve dealt with every other harmful bacteria.
We created antibiotics to combat the bacteria but we had underestimated Famine." She sighed.
" These things mutate much faster than other bacteria so everyday we have to create even stronger antibiotics."
Annie frowned, " If that’s the case then why are Fayera in the realm beyond the mist using..." He paused.
Nasita smiled, " It’s exactly what you’re thinking. Our two domains progressed in completely different ways.
While we humans embarked on the path of science alongside our supernatural abilities, the Fayera remained in their old ways.
If you’ve ever visited the domain of the organisation you’d know how different it is to the domain of the High Council."
Nasita sounded proud, " It is understandable why that is though, while I hate to admit it, the Fayera have created incredibly intelligent beings.
Like the ancient dark witch Morgana for example, unfortunately without the support of others, she couldn’t do much.
Unlike us, every Fayera is born with a certain level of esper inside them, naturally they consider themselves blessed.
While the Espara merely makes about 10 percent of the human population, we naturally can’t rely as much on supernatural abilities.
Now as for why this method is only spread amongst the human domain, well the relationship between the two domains isn’t as peaceful.
I don’t know the exact details but negotiations fell through forcing the Fayera to rely on witches.
Witches naturally sought a more supernatural way to deal with this which was a mistake.
If the dark witch was present, I’m certain she would’ve created something even more effective than what we did but alas."
Annie and Adrian looked at each other, they understood Annie and if there is one thing they know about her.
She always leave behind some back up, now that Nasita had mentioned her, they grew a bit suspicious.
’ Maybe she did leave something behind, unfortunately I have no way to contact her.’ Adrian thought to himself.
" Anyways, it’s impressive you were able to deal with Famine’s authority in such a swift way." Annie commented, she sounded genuine.
Nasita laughed, " It’s nothing much, we mostly replied on our ability." Although she said that, they could hear the pride in her voice.
" That analysis ability of your clan is quite impressive to be able to even see even through Famine." Adrian complimented her.
Nasita smiled but said nothing, it was Annie who spoke. " That isn’t quite their real ability."
Nasita’s face changed when she heard that but she still said nothing, Annie continued with her explanation.
" Those eyes are more of a support to their ability which increases their neuron activity by thousands of times.
It’s believed even the dumbest Sapienta has an IQ of 270, basically, they’re walking flesh supercomputers who just get stronger and smarter."
Adrian nodded, that made sense, it explained the high intelligence of the Sapienta.
Nasita sighed, " You seen to know quite a lot about us." She looked at Annie with questioning eyes.
Annie smiled, " I read." She answered, Nasita said nothing, the two of them took two of the antibiotics.
Even the Sapienta hadn’t managed to find a solution for the Trufell Bacteria but the other two had been dealt with.
After taking those antibiotics they left leaving Nasita with her thoughts. ’ Read huh? I don’t think we’ve ever mentioned the nature of our real ability to others.’
Annie and Adrian teleported outside, " What do we do now? Do we chase after Famine or go back home?" She asked.
Adrian thought about it, he looked at the vials on his hands, " I believe Meggie must’ve left something behind." He responded.
" Oh, when did you finally figure out Morgana is Meggie?" Annie asked with a soft smile.
" I figured that out a long time ago, I’m not an idiot, I just to pretend not to know because I could see she wasn’t eager to tell me about it."
She nodded, " Yeah, it’s understandable, who would want their child to know they were once the greatest villain in the world?" Annie realised what she had just said.
She looked at him to guage his reaction but there was none. ’ Has he also figured out Meggie’s real mother?’ she wondered.
In fact, Annie wasn’t too sure about that herself, after all she definitely remembers Adrian’s mother Margaret.
Not to mention her parents had once mentioned meeting Meggie and Margaret at the same time.
No matter how hard she thought about it, it made no sense for Meggie to be Adrian’s biological mother.
However every single time Meggie was around Adrian, Annie saw the way she looked at him.
It was the exact same way her own mother looks at her and her siblings, the same look Louis had when she rubbed her belly.
That look couldn’t be faked nor could it be built by the little time they spent together, beneath that look there was something else.
Pain, deep pain, especially whenever she had to leave again. This is why Annie suspected Meggie was Adrian’s biological mother.
’ No use thinking about it, I’ll just ask her again when I see her, if she’ll even answer.’ Adrian grabbed her waist.
He opened a portal to Alguard and they left the human world. Their first destination was the human domain.
The first town they saw didn’t look very different from one in the human world, except there were a few Fayera walking around freely in their real forms.
Even though the two domains were separated by a vast ocean, there were members of each race in every continent.
Humans can be found in the Fayera domain and Fayera can be found in the human domain.
" We’ve been around here." He whispered catching her off guard. He grabbed her and teleported.
They appeared in front of a lake surrounded by fog, Annie recognised the place as soon as they got there.
Suddenly they heard a zither playing and looked to the side. There say a beautiful woman with black hair tied in a bun.
The woman continued playing her zither for five minutes without saying a word or even looking at them.
When she was done, she turned her head towards them with a smile. " Didn’t that girl tell you never to come here by yourself child?
There are many who would love to have you in their hands." The woman talked to him in a stern voice.
Adrian bowed, " Thank you for the warning lady Chang’e."
