Chapter 256: Chapter 256: Hiding No More
" Well then little heart, I’ll take my leave but I’ll be back, for more fun stuff." Lilith licked her lips and looked at Annie provocatively.
Annie glared at her once then turned towards Adrian, he felt the temperature drop.
Before he could say anything, an invisible force bound his body and threw him at the ground.
BOOOOOM, the ground shook for tens of kilometres around them. A dust cloud covered the aura.
When the cloud of dust cleared, Adrian appeared in a hundred metres crater. He was unharmed but his eyes held nothing but fear.
Annie floated down towards him. He stood up and took a step back. " Annie, it’s not what you think I prom..."
She lunged at him but the punch he had expected never came, she hugged him tightly.
Adrian hugged her back and felt her shoulders shaking, through their bond he could feel her emotions.
Happiness to see him, anger at him for being gone for so long but the most prominent feeling was fear.
She was scared he might not be real, that this could just be an illusion. " It’s okay, I’m here now." He reassured her.
Annie couldn’t hold back her tears, after some time the other werewolves arrived but she still didn’t let him go.
The werewolves went down on their knees, except Annie’s family and Sam who was yawning with bags under his eyes.
" You can stand." Adrian didn’t care of they knelt or not but he wasn’t going to stop them either.
He was just glared to see them after so long. " Thousands of years, I’m sorry I’ve been gone for so long." He apologised.
The werewolves gave him strange looks, ’ Do they really think I’m incapable of apologising, that’s rude.’
Adrian thought they were surprised by his apology, it’s true that he didn’t apologise very often.
But from now on, that was going to change and he would treat them with more respect than he did before.
" Ah, sweetie, you’ve only been gone for seventy years." Mrs Ladros smiled softly at him.
That didn’t register to Adrian for a moment then it did. " Huh? Sev..what the hell are you talking about, I’ve been gone for thousands of years."
" Mom is right, you really haven’t been gone for that long but I have an idea what’s happening."
Everybody looked at her waiting for her to explain, including Adrian, his first thought was that he was trapped in some illusion in Niflheim.
" Due to the severed connection between the two realms, it’s possible their space times no longer align.
As a result, a thousand years might’ve passed on the other side but only seventy years had gone by here."
Adrian paused then nodded, " I guess that makes sense, plus Niflheim is an apocalyptic realm, maybe that played a role too."
" What now my lord, should we return to the hidden base in the black market? Being here is not safe.
The organisation and the high council have put a bounty on us." Suzie informed him, Adrian thought about it.
" Where are we?" He asked Annie. " Which power does this place belong to?"
Annie thought about it, " None, if I remember correctly, we’re between the dragon spine mountain ranges and the crystal horn sea."
He nodded, he knew a bit about those two places. They were not considered valuable to the top powers.
The ambient esper was too low, Gadra born here were too weak and there were no valuable resources.
There were only a few settlements of low level Fayera struggling against the low level Gadra.
The crystal horn sea had an abundance of small level fish Gadra, while they were considered low level.
There were a few kings amongst them reaching level 4 and even rumours of a level 5 Crystal Horn Whale.
It was perfect, ’ We don’t need dense ambient esper nor are we looking for resources, this is perfect for us.’
Annie saw him lost in his thoughts and decided not to disturb him. Adrian looked at her and smiled.
" Thus is perfect." They all raised their eyebrows. He saw theyr confusion but he didn’t explain.
He sat down cross legged, " Fred, can you borrow me your sword?" Fred drew his sword and gave it to Adrian without question.
Adrian’s wheel weapon took inspiration from this sword, it was the only ability of Fred and one that created a permanent sword.
Adrian had realised a lot time ago that Fred’s weapon was stronger than others but it also had its weaknesses.
If it broke, he couldn’t recreate it instantly like others could. Adrian was trying to mimic this ability.
He had done it before with the wheel but that took a very long time and the method was crude.
The wheel is just his esper condensed so much it turned purely physical thus becoming a permanent weapon.
This time, he needed something he can create quickly and still maintain it as a permanent physical structure.
His left eyes turned into a pitch black spiral and he read the patterns on the sword. They appeared like a magic circle.
’ I see, so abilities and magic are not that different after all, there are minor differences but the overall structure is roughly the same.’
After he figured out the patterns, he gave the sword back to Fred who took it with a respectful bow and stepped back.
This middle aged man was not very different from Suzie, he was just less vocal about his devotion but Adrian didn’t doubt it.
Adrian moved, his esper followed the patterns, he ended up creating an identical sword to Fred’s.
But his was even stronger, its esper was much more pure. The sword seemed to cut the world just by existing, it turned the surrounding winds into countless invisible blades.
He had to create an accompanying sheath for it, while it was strong it was nothing compared to the sword on his wheel so he didn’t care for it.
But the others were very suprised by this, they all knew he special Fred’s ability was and Adrian just did it casually.
" I know he’s the Primordial and all but isn’t this a bit crazy?" Sam asked but nobody answered him.
It took a few minutes but Adrian finally figured it out. The patterns were divided into two.
The weapon pattern which shaped the type of weapon and the permanent pattern which made the weapon permanent were different.
He stood up and stretched then walked forward a few metres. " We won’t be going back, we’ve hidden long enough, no more."
He raised his right foot and stomped the ground. The ground shook for kilometres around them like there was an earthquake.
A few hundred metres away, the ground lit up with silver light.
