Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Caught

He looked confused, " My sister, ah yes, I should care about her shouldn’t I? I remember getting her back is supposed to be a goal of mine.

Tell me, how do you plan to let me see her exactly!" He asked fatly, Mary couldn’t sense any emotions from him.

Her always sad expression turned even sadder. " Oh child, what have you done, to lose so much of yourself, just to stop me?"

Her voice sounded sorrowful, Adrian continued walking towards her slowly with a blank expression.

" Do you know what comes after everything, after every seal has been broken?" She asked.

He thought about it but nothing came to mind so he shook his head. " I do not know."

" When all seals break lose, the gate of hell shall open."

He nodded, " I see, so that’s your idea, as long as I let all the seals break lose, hell will open and I can see my sister again.

That does sound reasonable but there are others in this world I believe I care about, or rather my normal self does.

And I’m confused about something, you claim you seek to save this world, so why let the seals break, you know they’ll destroy everything right?"

She shook her head, " You are wrong, the world will remain."

Adrian understood, by world she wasn’t talking about Fayera or even humans but the world itself.

What happens to the lifeforms was none of her business. " I thought you cared about humans, it seems I was wrong."

" I did, once, I cared for them more than anything but I was foolish, I expected of them what they cannot give.

Honesty, love and being good, the lord showed me the truth. Your intelligence is a curse.

Both to those who have it and the world around them, it’s corrupt you, makes you greedy, envious and prideful.

Your intelligence is what destroying this world, it’s an insatiable void hungering for knowledge.

You strip the world bare in search of the unknown never stopping, never resting, you lie and scheme.

You hurt the innocent for your own greed and satisfaction, for this world to be pure once more, so called intelligent life must perish.

I had hoped you would all understand the nobility of my goal but I see, again I had expected more than you cannot give, for that I apologise."

Adrian said nothing, the closer to her he got the more illusions he saw but they had no effect of him.

Bloody Mary herself has no combat power, outside of her ability and spirit guards, she was as weak as a mortal woman.

This was true for a lot of spirits, their power was governed by rules, resist said rules and they were helpless.

Adrian suddenly disappeared and appeared behind her. He moved so fast it appeared he teleported.

He grabbed her and placed his fangs on her neck. Then he pulled back a little, " You don’t seem to be scared." He whispered in her ear.

" I am a spirit of vengeance of justice, I cannot be killed." She answered.

" If you know me, then you know I can kill anything, including you."

She looked down sadly. " You’re right but you will not kill me, doing so will kill this girl as well.

If I understand correctly, she’s your friend is she not?"

" If you think that’s enough to stop me then you underestimate me, do you really think I care?"

" In your current state? No but you still have your memories, you might not feel them right now but you remember your feelings.

I’m quite sensitive to emotions, even right now, they’re banging against that cage trying to get out.

Deep down you know, doing this will hurt those you care for, this will haunt you later."

" I see, so you really do underestimate me." Adrian opened his mouth and bit down.

" ADRIAN NOOOO!" He stopped and raised his head, he saw Annie looking at him pleadingly.

" Please don’t kill her, don’t kill Eve." Her crying face cracked the cage in his head letting of trickle of his emotions out.

Mary grabbed into small stream and yanked trying to pull his emotions out of the cage, Adrian knew he couldn’t let her do that.

The invisible force grabbing and pulling at his emotions grew stronger, Adrian grabbed the shroud.

Mary froze, " You wouldn’t dare!" She grinded her teeth and Adrian yanked. The pure white dress came off.

A naked body stood there frozen, then gently over. He grabbed her and teleported out of the barrier.

Annie stood there frozen looking at Adrian’s hand which was firmly pressed against one of the two great mounds.

The spirit guards disappeared, Adrian broke the cage in his mind, it was only then that he understood Annie’s expression.

He squeezed his hand and felt something soft, he knew exactly what he had grabbed, ’ Okay, play it cool.’

" Alright, she seems to be fine, take her." He threw Eve’s body at Annie then teleported next to Meggie.

" Here." He gave her the shroud of Mary and Meggie worked fast. A ritual started in seconds.

Meggie, Maleficent and the two dark witches started the ritual chanting as if they were singing.

The harmony resonated with the world around them and a crack opened up. A hand made of blinding pure light came out slowly.

As soon as the hand appeared, Adrian felt a wave of hatred and disgust he couldn’t explain.

He heard Annie growling behind him and saw her eyes has turned red with rage but she was still sane.

The other werewolves were less so but he could feel it, they weren’t effected by the hand directly but by him.

His rage towards the hand was making them lose control. He took a deep breath and calmed himself down.

The hand reached out and took the shroud of Mary then disappeared back into the crack.

" What was that?" He asked Meggie.

" I seal the shroud back into purgatory, while this won’t stop the other seals, it should buy us a bit more time to..."

She paused and looked up, the others had grim expressions as well.

" Well my lady, we’ve paid out debt, this is goodbye." The two witches disappeared.

The human and warlock left as well, they used some kind of enchanted artefact to teleport away.

Meggie waved her hand teleporting Fiona and all the werewolves away instantly leaving only her and Maleficent.

However she suddenly noticed Adrian was left behind as well. " No no no NO! YOU HAVE ME LET HIM GO RIGHT NOW!"

Her voice boomed across the sky and a man appeared above the city. " What makes you think it’s you we want Morgana?" He asked calmly.

His voice shook the entire city, fortunately Meggie had teleported all the citizens away before the real fight even began.
