Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Moving Against Mary (2)
The temperature inside the city dropped rapidly, frost covered the road and walls and mist spread out.
In a blink of an eye the entire city was covered by faint mist, the mist continued to thicken turning it fog.
Adrian was already standing at the centre of the city with his eyes closed. The people moved around panicking.
The sudden change in weather startled them but they were not too worried. They locked their houses and warmed the houses either using fire or electric heaters.
None of this had anything to do with Adrian, a few minutes after everything began he started seeing a ghost.
But no matter what happened to the ghost, he didn’t feel anything, he couldn’t feel anything with all of his emotions locked in a cage inside his head.
It wasn’t long before she arrived, her feet gently floating above the ground, she walked towards him with graceful steps.
" Have you come to stop me?" She asked gently with a saddened expression.
Adrian nodded, " Yes." He answered flatly.
" Why? Can’t you see why I’m doing this, can’t you see I’m trying to save this world?"
He looked at her with a blank expression, " I don’t care for your reasons, I know I have to stop you and that’s enough for me."
Adrian really did not care in his current state but he knew he was supposed to stop her and that’s what he was going to do.
" I see." She answered sadly, then floated back, just as he was about to follow, a spirit guard appeared in front of him.
It wielded a great sword, the sword split the air as it descended upon him like a guillotine, Adrian knew he wouldn’t be able to take it.
The wind hit him first, it was so strong it cut through his skin and shattered the ground below his feet.
He teleported away instantly, the sword hit the ground, Adrian had expected a huge shockwave that would wipe out the entire city.
Instead, the sword phased through the ground. ’ Oh yes, it’s a spirit.’ he lunged at Bloody Mary.
His claws came out, the air shattered around him creating massive gales behind him. The windows shattered all around him.
People screamed and took cover, Adrian clashed with a shield generating a massive shockwave that shook the entire city as if there was an earthquake.
A tremendous force was transmitted through his arms making him cough up blood.
He flew back like a ragdoll hitting a car and flattening it. He stood back up, just as Mary was about to order her guard to attack him.
A truck came flying at her from above. She didn’t even bother dodging, the truck hit the ground but phased directly through her.
She looked back and saw Annie staring at her with cold eyes yet there was a hint of sadness behind those eyes.
" Why do you look so sad child? She is happier than you’ll ever be living in such a world, she’s free, it’s you who are pitiful."
Annie gritted her teeth, " That isn’t yours to decide, she has people who love her, who cares for her, so give her back!"
An invisible force spread out of Annie like a shockwave shooting towards Mary, the road was ripped to shreds in its wake.
Adrian jumped up and floated in the sky to dodge, Mary didn’t even bother dodging the attack.
However she had underestimated Annie, hidden in that shockwave were salt and iron particles smaller than grain of sand.
" AHHHHHH!" Mary screamed as the particles pierced through her body. She glared at Annie with hatred.
The blood flowing beneath the white cloth covering her eyes gushed out even faster, multiple trickles of blood flowed down her cheeks.
The temperature dropped even lower, it started effecting even Annie herself. Multiple spirit guards appeared.
BOOOOOM, the road shattered and Fiona appeared with the warlock and human, all three faced Mary.
" Hello again you bitch, I’m here to retain ty favour for last time." Before Mary could respond Fiona had already attacked.
Two spirit guards appeared to block her path but she broke through both of with a single punch.
The iron knuckles coated with salt burnt through their bodies. Mary disappeared dodging that punch.
Fiona stopped and looked around until she spotted her again. " What’s wrong? You don’t seem so good."
Just as she was about to lunge again Meggie appeared and stopped her. Fiona stopped.
Suddenly she coughed up blood, her bones were shattered and even her organs had been damaged.
" What happened?" She asked in confusion, she doesn’t remember being attacked. Meggie fed her a potion.
Her body regenerated rapidly healing those wounds but even Meggie’s potions couldn’t fully negate them.
So she fed Fiona salt mixed with pure iron, this helped a bit and Fiona returned to at least 70 percent of her strength.
" I already told you before, don’t get close to her, the closer you get to her the stronger her ability becomes.
What you’ve just experienced was a partial fate transfer, you’re lucky, had you gotten any closer...."
She didn’t have to finish, Fiona sighed and tried to ignore the ghost in front of her but it was hard.
She thought killing Bloody Mary would remove the ghost but it appears she had been naive.
" So, you’re saying we should stand back and do nothing?" She asked with gritted teeth.
" No, there are others to deal with her, we just need to make sure her ghost guards don’t interfere."
" How do we do that? She can directly summon those things to her side or even teleport herself to them."
Meggie smiled, " That’s what they’re here for." Before anybody could react eight pillars dropped from the sky.
They dropped around Mary trapping her, she tried to teleport out but bounced off an invisible wall.
Around the eight iron pillars was salt, a barrier was created to trap her. Maleficent and the two twin witches appeared.
Maleficent had a sour expression. " What’s wrong sister, did you eat something sour?" One of the twins asked mockingly.
" Don’t call me your sister." She growled, " Working with dark vermin, how low I have fallen." She mumbled under her breath.
With the Bloody Mary trapped, Adrian moved, he jumped inside the barrier and started walking towards her.
" You’re making a mistake." Mary spoke softly. " I’m trying to save this world, why won’t you see that?" She asked softly.
Adrian didn’t answer, he continued walking towards her with measured steps, his expression as blank as canvas unmarked by paint.
" If you stop this, you might never see your sister again."
Adrian paused.
