Chapter 515: Collecting the Ingredients (2-Last)
"How long will it take you to acquire all the ingredients?" standing just about a hundred meters away from the city’s gate, Liza with Darla on her side looked at Carl before directing her gaze at Khal.
"We don’t know. Each herb grows in a different environment and while the beasts lurking around them are not an issue, as we can easily take care of them, spotting the herbs will be a little bit of a challenge." Cal replied calmly.
"I see." Liza nodded softly while Darla just crossed her arms and stared at Cal with an indifferent expression.
Cal seeing the two different faces directed at him shook his head helplessly before he waved his hand and with Khal beside him, he teleported both of them back into the Sixth Realm.
However, the moment the two of them appeared in the Sixth Realm, someone they didn’t expect to see and meet with stood right in front of them with a calm smile.
"So at last you have finally decided to ascend? And it seems he came also, huh?" Daire looked at both Cal and Khal with a small smile while in his hand a small candy, akin to a lollipop was held.
Cal just nodded before he took out the black orb from his Monarch Ring and showed it to the Lord of the Sixth Realm, "Do you know what this is?"
Looking at the orb in Cal’s hand, Daire placed the lollipop into his mouth and after pondering for several seconds he nodded, "Yeah, that is a Celestial Beast Core."
"A... what?" both Cal and Khal asked the same question and looked at each other with raised brows.
"Celestial Beast Core," Daire repeated the words he sucked on the candy a few times, "Just like how Alpha Beasts can drop Beast Cores, Celestial Beast, like Ragh, can also leave behind their Beast Cores. The only difference is that the chance to acquire a Celestial Beast Core is extremely low, so consider yourself lucky."
[That can’t be a Beast Core. You were not given the option to turn it into a Power Core, or were you?]
’No, I was not.’ Cal shook his head softly, feeling scarcely confused before a guess appeared in his head and furrowed his brows gently, ’Can it be that because of my bracelet upgrade, I can turn Beast Cores into Power Cores just as instantly as I can with ores?’
To test out his idea and see if his guess was correct, Cal, under the gazes of both Khal and Daire, raised his hand before his chest with a firm move and clenched the orb.
Khal seeing this sudden move was stupefied and was even ready to jump at Cal to stop him, but just as he could have the orb surprisingly didn’t break into numerous parts but instead shrunk in size in Cal’s hand with a piercing black glow!
"What the..." Khal started to mumble, but the next second from Cal’s hand a powerful burst exploded in every direction while a thin and ink-black pillar of light flared into the sky, piercing the clouds above.
Daire whistled at the sight as he kept licking the lollipop in his hand while Khal just a meter away from him was sent flying into the distance akin to a kite whose string was cut!
"Hm? Oh, come on..." noticing Khal’s figure soaring rapidly into the distance, Daire sighed with a hint of annoyance and quickly waved his hand, teleporting Khal back, but this time behind him where he was safe.
[Celestial Beast Core ’Acid Feather Skin’ had been enhanced and turned into Power Core ’Acid Wings’!]
Whoosh!
At that moment as those words appeared in his head and the core was placed into his bracelet, behind Cal’s back a pair of large black wings appeared, each covered in black feathers that seemingly had this slimy texture from afar instead of softness.
"No matter how many times I see it, I still can hardly believe such a unique item can truly exist," once the ripples that sent Khal’s body calmed down and vanished, Daire took a step closer to Cal and leaned a little bit forward to inspect the bracelet.
"Just from where did you acquire this treasure?" Daire asked after a few minutes of pondering as he now directed his gaze at Cal.
Cal, who was inspecting his wings with a calm gaze glanced at Daire and replied, "To tell you the truth, that question is still an unsolved mystery. According to Khal, this was given to him by an old man during the First Realm, who we guess was also a Realm Walker."
"Wait, if that is true, then why is it that you are the one wearing it and not him," Daire asked, looking rather puzzled by the obvious fact that, for some weird reason, seemed to be not a fact.
After all, Cal was just a soul that possessed Khal’s body, hence the bracelet was not his, to begin with.
Also, even a complete idiot with a single brain cell saw how the bracelet blessed anyone that wore it with heaven-defying powers, so Daire highly doubted that Khal gave Cal the treasure just out of his free will.
Unless...
’If it was not meant for him in the first place.’ Daire thought as his eyes narrowed into a slit and his back straightened.
Of course, Cal was not a mind reader nor did he possess any telepathic ability, hence he had no idea what Daire was thinking and replied, "We don’t know. When I have transferred my soul into this new body of mine, the bracelet just... traveled alongside me- we have no clue at all."
"Is that so?" Daire placed the lollipop back into his mouth and showed a mysterious smile.
Cal felt that smile was weird, but as it seemed to have no hidden meaning he just decided to ignore it and ask, "Anyway, I hope you can help us with something very important."
