Chapter 514: Collecting the Ingredients (1)
At first, Liza narrowed her pretty eyes seeing Cal offering his hand to Darla, but seeing how he extended his hand toward her also, she quickly formed a smile and without any hesitation grabbed his hand.
"Is it necessary for us to hold your hand?" Darla asked Cal, seemingly reluctant to hold his hand.
"Well, I can use my Divine Soul Sutra even without holding your hands, but I fear you would die then."
"What?" Darla’s eyes widened, but when she saw how softly were Liza holding Cal’s hand she clenched her teeth and went to grab Cal’s other hand.
’Is she trying to break my bones or what?’ Cal didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when saw how firmly was Darla holding his hand, but as he didn’t feel any pain for obvious reasons he closed his eyes and activated his Divine Soul Sutra.
"Wh-What the..!"
Both Liza and Darla felt surprised the moment Cal activated his Divine Soul Sutra, feeling as if something within their bodies moved and wished to leave their bodies but with the small exception that it was not physical!
"What you have just felt was your souls. My Divine Soul Sutra allows me to do quite a few things with my and others’ souls, including controlling or even destroying them." Cal explained as he let the two women’s hands go and leaned back.
"I can also transfer one’s soul into another body, but that requires a lot of preparations and time if it is not my own soul."
"Wait... Transfer one’s soul into another body." Darla asked with shock, "Then why can’t you just transfer one of her soul into another body?"
"Because of numerous reasons." Khal was the one who talked next and quickly explained, "First of all, just as Cal has already stated this, Liza’s soul is mixed with another one’s so even if Cal would have been able to transfer her soul into another body, he still needs to first separate the two souls."
"That is why we will first find the ingredients for the Twin Soul Separating Pill," Cal stated calmly with his arms crossed before his face.
"Yes," Khal nodded and quickly continued, "Secondly, to avoid the possibility of transferring her soul into a body that still has a soul within, we need to find a body that no longer has any soul. To put it simply, we need to find a corpse that is not older than 3 days."
"That last part is especially important because if the corpse is older than 3 days, I won’t be able to transfer her soul no matter what and there could be even the possibility of me harming her instead!" Cal added once Khal reached the end of his sentence.
"Wait, if that is true, then how come you have this look?" Liza’s face suddenly turned confused, seemingly Nancy being the one who asked the question.
Cal looked at Liza with a wry smile and quickly explained, "This is also one of the advantages of my Divine Soul Sutra. Once I have transferred the soul, the body can change shape and look according to the soul’s will. There is even the possibility to change gender depending on if the soul was a male or female during his or her previous body."
’Or life.’ finished the sentence Cal within his head.
"But anyway, since when did you know she had two souls trapped inside her body?" Khal decided to ask suddenly, but seeing the confused look of Liza and Darla he quickly explained, "I mean, I hardly think you have just believed when she told you, haven’t you? So there was a way to prove it, right?"
"In fact, she did not tell me, I was the one who figured it out," Darla stated with indifference, and waving her hand she placed a small orb onto the table.
"What’s this?" Khal asked as he went and picked the orb up to inspect it.
"It’s called Heart-Seeker Orb. With a little bit of a Body Essence, one could find out what kind of a person one truly is. It worked perfectly on anyone I have tried, but for some reason, when I used it on her, it showed two different things at once before it stopped working." Darla explained.
"After that, curiosity took over me and as one thing led to another I found out that she indeed had two souls, two completely different at that."
"Now I see, though, I still can’t understand one thing. Why did you even wish to use this on her?" Khal asked slightly confused and glanced at Darla.
"F-For no particular reason. I-I was just curious, that’s all." Darla coughed with a scarcely rosy face and even before Khal could have reacted she grabbed the orb out of Khal’s hand and put it away.
Though, as she did, she made sure to glance at Cal, who seemed to be just as confused as Khal for obvious reason.
[Yeah... Sure you were.]
"And what about Raven? Does she know it too?" Cal then decided to ask but seeing how both Liza and Darla shook their hand he sighed.
"So, back to what we discussed earlier, where will we be able to find the ingredients for the pill?" Darla asked to which Cal pondered and quickly took out a piece of paper and ink from his Monarch Ring.
After writing on it for several minutes, he put the ink back into his ring and handed the paper to Darla and Liza.
"Here. These are the herbs that you very likely be able to find here in the Fourth Realm."
"Huh? But you have just written 4 herbs on this paper. What about the rest?" Darla asked with a soft frown.
"We are currently in the Fourth Realm where destruction reached every corner of the world. Except for those four herbs, the rest of the ingredients can only be found either within the Fifth or in the Sixth Realm." Cal explained.
"Though, don’t worry. As Khal and I have already reached the Sixth Realm, finding the remaining 107 ingredients will be a matter of time. Just make sure you acquire those four herbs and leave the rest to us." Cal showed a confident smile that looked rather handsome, making both Liza and Darla blush slightly and nod without thinking.
