Chapter 477: Hidden Headquarter
Several hundreds of miles above a blood-filled and chaos-lingered wasteland, Hale’s handsome figure floated in empty air while his golden eyes stared at the scenery below his feet with indifference.
Whoosh!
"I will never forget the number of lives I have claimed and the amount of blood I spilled during my youth in this Realm." feeling the gentle breeze on his face, Hale didn’t avert his gaze from the scenery below him and started to talk.
Khal was not surprised by the abrupt start of a conversation and instead followed the gaze of the Emperor of all the existing Realms, only to see how about three hundred miles under his feet thousands of cultivators fought against each other, using different techniques, skills, and Blessings to overcome their enemies and emerge as the final victor.
Yes, Khal had been teleported back into the Fourth Realm once again!
"How long did it take you to become an Overlord?" Khal decided to ask out of curiosity after knowing he needed less than a month.
Hale gave a sideways glance to Khal before he pondered silently and said, "About 5 days."
"5 days..." Khal mumbled those two words before letting out a defeated sigh.
[Did you really think you can compare yourself with the strongest cultivator in all existence?]
’Everyone was weak at some point in time so I don’t believe that he had not gone through hardships.’
[He definitely did but not in the Fourth Realm. Those that succeed in reaching the Fourth Realm are powerful cultivators with hundreds if not thousands of life and death experiences!]
’Yeah, you are right.’ Khal nodded softly, admitting that his question was really useless and just a waste of time.
"So, where will we start our search?" knowing that Hale gave him the token to use when he was ready to search for those Realm Walkers, Khal quickly asked as he looked around.
He already knew that except for the flat planet where hundreds of millions of cultivators fought, the Fourth Realm was a vast space with no stars, planets, or whatsoever in it.
"Over here." Hale waved his hand and quickly teleported both of them to a completely different area.
"This..." Khal’s eyes widened scarcely when he looked up and saw how a vast and flat surface was above his head, almost as if a ceiling was above his head despite him obviously floating nowhere but in empty space!
Yes! They were below the only planet in the Fourth Realm!
"What are we doing here?" Khal looked left and right while even activating his Heaven’s Eyes, but found nothing at all.
Hale, however, just smiled and snapped his fingers which immediately caused thin ripples to fly in every direction, revealing a sight Khal didn’t expect to see.
Whoosh!
Akin to breaking glass into pieces, the empty scenery before Khal suddenly cracked and shattered into thousands of pieces before a massive construction revealed itself before his eyes!
It was a gigantic building extending thousands of miles wide and far, consisting of numerous buildings of different shapes and sizes, each hanging down from the bottom of the flat surface of the planet.
"After you have ascended into the Third Realm I decided to scour through all the Realms for one more time, just in case I happened to miss out on things like how I did with the starship back in the Second Realm. And soon enough, I have indeed found this." Hale explained as he directed both of them toward one of the buildings that looked like a pillar and which also seemed to have a gigantic dock around it for spaceships.
"Is this one of those Realm Walkers’ bases you have talked about previously?" Khal asked as he watched how they landed on the solid surface of the dock while in front of him a large gate, similar to the one that led the way into the starship in the Second Realm, was visible.
Hale, however, shook his head and pointed out, "Not quite. The bases these Realm Walkers have are usually small and concealed as if they are part of the Realm."
"For instance, back in the Fifth Realm, their base is inside a city which one can only enter if they are a Realm Walker, alas they have that bracelet just like you have."
Khal looked at the bracelet on his wrist and seemed to understand what Hale tried to say.
"Sometimes the best hiding spot is the one in plain sight, huh?" Khal mumbled before asking, "Then, is this place their..."
"Correct. This whole construction, hidden below this Realm Planet, is one of their few headquarters." Hale explained with a calm voice.
[Their headquarters? But I don’t see nor sense any life form within or around this building. You can’t call an abandoned building a headquarter, right?]
Khal thought the same too, but his and Nova’s doubt was quickly explained by Hale who stood in front of the gate and examined it.
"Or at least was their headquarters until I have not found it."
"What?! Are you saying..." Khal’s eyes widened as he quickly realized what Hale was referring to with those words of his.
"Yeah. As you have already figured out, when I first discovered this building several Realm Walkers were still present, some even trying to kill me for obvious reasons. However..."
"They have failed miserably, haven’t they?" Khal asked, already having a rough image of what kind of chaos could have taken place here.
In fact, he could even spot several areas around him where buildings were half-destroyed or damaged, indicating it was all caused by a single individual, Hale!
"They failed to kill me indeed, but the same goes for me too." Hale nodded his head before turning to face Khal and pointing at the bracelet in his hand, "That item, that thing in your possession is more dangerous than you think it is. If I have to give you an example, currently you are only using 10%, at the very best 20% of that bracelet’s true potential!"
