Chapter 446: Thousand Path of Destiny

Walking through the streets of the sect for one final time after filling his stomach with delicious food for a few golden coins, Khal decided it was time for him to ascend. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Are you sure you want to ascend now? You know you can stay for a few days if you wish." Hao Yu, who decided to escort Khal to the planet where all Ascenders could ascend to the Third Realm, asked with a calm smile.

"Yeah, I have already said goodbye to everyone I knew and helped me in the past in one way or another, so there is no reason for me to stay any longer," Khal said with a confident nod.

"I see... Then let us go, shall we?" Hao Yu gestured for Khal to follow, and soon the two boarded a spaceship which left the sect at lightning speed.

The planet where those who reached the peak of the Second Realm could ascend was called Planet Bloom. However, while it was called a planet, in truth, it was not as it was smaller than a moon and the only thing found on it except trees similar to cherry blossoms which had a blue color instead of pink was an azure building, known as the Thousand Path of Destiny.

"Here we are. It was a pleasure to meet you even though it was just for a brief moment." before the great building that had similarities to the pagodas that Khal has once seen in his past life, Hao Yu turned to face Khal and extended his hand for a handshake.

"The same applies to me too." Khal laughed gently and after firmly shaking Hao Yu’s hand he turned around and walked inside the pagoda, where only those who were allowed indeed wished to ascend.

However, when the door behind his back closed, instead of walking to the staircase in the center which led the way toward the next floor above, Khal stood still and looked around.

"Lord Hale... Can you hear me?"

"Of course, I can."

Not even a second after he asked his question, Khal was able to hear how Hale’s voice appeared in his ear before the familiar handsome figure of his materialized before him in a flash.

"Also, don’t call me Lord... That just feels awkward for me for some reason when I hear it from you." Hale laughed gently as he examined Khal’s new appearance with great curiosity.

"Your new style looks much better. Especially your hair. I wonder who made it for you? Maybe I will ask her to cut mine too." Hale spoke calmly as he subconsciously touched his hair which was rather long and even reached his waist.

"It is not her, but him. And in fact, he is standing right before you." Khal said before showing a soft smile, "So if you want, I can cut it for you. Of course, it won’t be free at all."

"You really are shameless, haha!" Hale laughed before asking, "Anyways, what did you wish to speak about. It is definitely not about the ascension, is it?"

"It is not indeed." Khal nodded and after taking a small sigh to put on a serious face, he began to tell everything Hao Yu has told him.

"Oh? A ship created by the Otherworlders which is flying through the Second Realm without any aim or purpose? And I have failed to notice it too?" after hearing the whole story, Hale was truly shocked for the first time after several eons.

However, it only lasted for a few seconds before he regained his composure and quickly closed his eyes.

Khal watched how gentle golden light enveloped Hale’s body which fluctuated from time to time, and immidieatly knew the Lord of the Seven Realms was now searching.

Like that, time passed silently and seconds turned into minutes which soon became half an hour!

"There indeed is a large object you have talked about out there. And it travels rather fast but without leaving any trace behind or attracting any attention." Hale slowly opened his eyes as he looked at Khal.

"Do you think we can slow it down to enter it?" Khal asked curiously.

"Slow it down?" Hale laughed as if he just heard a good old joke and pointed out, "Do you really underestimate me this much? Although I admit that thing was able to slip out of my detection through some unknown means, now that I know where it is I can perceive it without trouble. If I want, I not only can reduce its speed but even freeze it motionless in space!"

"Then..." Khal’s eyes brightened with joy when he heard the words Hale just spoke, and couldn’t help but feel excited.

Hale, as if he was able to read Khal’s mind nodded and without saying a word placed his palm atop Khal’s shoulder. Then, even before Khal had the chance to react, he found himself floating in empty space with shining stars everywhere around him.

Wait... Space?

Khal’s eyes widened like saucers and he quickly snapped his head toward Hale on his side, but when he noticed how he was fine and even was able to breathe without a problem he let out a sigh of relief.

It seemed Hale didn’t forget that he was still just a weak Second Realm existence who had yet to master skills to survive in a cold space where there was no oxygen at all.

"Where is the starship?" Khal asked as he looked around but except for the stars and some smaller meteorites in the distance, he saw nothing.

"Starship?" Hale raised a brow when he heard the foreign concept but still pointed forward and said, "Right here."

BAM!

A loud explosion broke out the next moment Hale pointed his index finger forward, one that was so powerful that its ripples twisted space, and under the startled gaze of Khal a massive spaceship that was nothing he has ever seen before appeared only a few inches away from his face, its massive size held just with a single finger by Hale!
