Chapter 428: The Bracelet’s Origin? (2)

Khal sat in his chair with a dumbfounded complexion, his eyes shifting between Hale’s and the old lady’s figure from time to time, who turned out to be called Zinnia and was someone who knew Hale and even made a deal with him!

Did he hear it right or was what he heard just a hallucination? Did Hale, the supreme leader, and ruler of all the Seven Realms ask his opinion? 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Why? Why did he, someone with the power to obligate anything and everything with simple gestures ask for his judgment? Although he possessed great strength, one that no one could rival in the Second Realm and even a few in the Third Realm, he was not invincible and he was just a mere speck of dust in the universe.

So why did Hale all of a sudden ask him if he should kill Zinnia or leave her alive? This made no sense to him!

Or wait... Perhaps, was this a test? Thinking about this, Khal couldn’t shake off the thought that maybe this was a little test that Hale wished to see how he would complete.

As for why or for what hidden motives, Khal had no clue at all.

"I..." Khal thought for a while, but no matter how long he was thinking no answer came out of his mouth.

That is why, instead of answering straight away, Khal decided to ask, "Before I answer, care to explain why? Why do you ask for my opinion?"

"Isn’t that obvious already?" Hale showed a calm smile and shifting his gaze at Zinnia he said, "Because she threatened to kill you. Don’t you think killing her would give you less trouble in the future?"

Zinnia’s body flinched when she heard Hale’s words and subconsciously wished to protect herself, but not even as she opened her mouth a heavy pressure fell on her, silencing her entirely!

"You will only talk when I say so." Hale’s eyes turned ice cold which resulted in Zinnia’s face turning sheet white from fear.

Khal was silent all this time but not because he was shocked by the way Hale behaved but because of the words, he has said a few moments ago.

Indeed, Zinnia just threatened to kill him because of his bracelet so the obvious choice for him would be to get rid of her as soon as possible or his life could get quite hard in the future.

No, not only his life but all those close to him. Not knowing just what kind of personality did Zinnia had, Khal didn’t know if she would not suddenly go and hurt his loved ones and friends, especially now that he got to learn she could travel between Realms at will!

Once that line of thought appeared in Khal’s head the light in his eyes turned chilling and nodded, seemingly coming to a decision.

"Sure, let’s kill her."

"You!" Zinnia’s eyes widened and her pupils shook fiercely, but when she saw how Hale nodded with satisfaction her complexion paled, becoming as white as a sheet of paper.

While she thought Hale was joking, now seeing him nod so satisfied was like the final nail in the coffin. There was no longer any hope for her, that was a straight fact!

"Screw yo-" Zinnia turned toward Khal with eyes filled with hatred, but not even before she could have said two words her body was cut into two halves before they were disintegrated into ash in a golden light.

Just like that, under a single second a powerful existence that could rival even those at the Sixth Realm succumbed to her death without any chance to put up a fight or at least resist!

[I hope this was enough demonstration that you are still a no one and your arrogance could easily lead to your demise.]

Although showing a nonchalant look, Khal in his heart was shaken beyond words and could not help but secretly swallow nervously. Just as Nova said, the sight that has occurred in front of him was the perfect example of how he should be careful how he acts if he is not careful enough and becomes way too cocky he could quite easily find himself in hell.

"Well, although I feel sad for killing her, she has broken our deal." Hale sighed with a hint of sorrow but quickly regained his composure and turned to face Khal.

"Though don’t feel scared, nothing will happen after this. In fact, if you would have said I should let her go, I would have killed her later."

"Huh? R-Really?" Khal’s jaw loosened as he could hardly believe how one was sentenced to death just because they broke a deal.

Hale seemed to understand Khal’s thoughts and after pulling the chair which Zinnia has sat a moment ago, he sat down and spoke, "We had a deal, one that can’t be taken lightly."

Khal looked at Hale with curiosity, but in fear of asking he just remained silent.

Hale just smiled and while leaning back into his chair and placing his left leg above his right, he explained, "Shortly, I granted her eternal life in exchange if she protects something extremely precious for me back in the Sixth Realm. She was also prohibited from leaving that realm, however, she not only decided to travel between Realms, thinking I won’t notice, but she almost even failed to protect what she had to protect."

"And for that reason, she had to be killed." Hale sighed and shook his head helplessly.

"I-I see..." Khal nodded despite not understanding quite a few things.

There are things Khal wished to ask but in fear of offending Hale and making him angry he decided not to and remain silent.

"Don’t worry, once you get stronger I will make sure to explain everything. Instead, for the time being, let’s concentrate on that thing around your wrist, shall we?" Hale spoke calmly and with a casual gesture pointed at the bracelet on Khal’s hand.
