Chapter 423: Golden Opportunity & Ridiculous Growth

"Do I even have anything else to do?" Khal asked with a sigh.
[Well, you can sit down and wait, but then you would miss quite a golden opportunity.]
"What should that even mean?" Khal raised a brow, only now realizing that Nova was trying to say something.
[Who knows...]
"No, for real. What kind of golden opportunity were you talking about?"
[Golden opportunity? Did I really say such a thing?]
"Don’t play dumb now! You know perfectly well what I am talking about! You definitely know something!"
[Dunno what you are talking about. Maybe this Corpse Lands playing a trick on your mind?]

A conversation similar to the one above continued to play between the two as Khal tried to get information out of Nova, but no matter how long he nudged her or what questions he asked Nova kept playing the absolute dumb and avoided each of his queries with pretty smoothness.
Thus, Khal had no chance but to give up, and with a helpless shake of his head start his journey on the unknown Corpse Lands which truly deserved its title whoever give it to it.
Ground covered in dried blood which was filled with piles of bones, flesh, limbs, and organs everywhere the eye could see, crimson dense haze which was in reality blood in a form mist, and a dark sky blanketed in deep black clouds that from time to time flashed with the color of red!
Throughout the whole land, the presence of death could be easily felt and Khal was pretty sure that anyone with a weaker mind would either piss their pants from fear or throw up from pure disgust.
Or worse, doing both at the same time.
"Hm?" passing by a pile of corpses that formed a smaller hill Khal came to an abrupt halt and shifted his gaze to the side.
"What the hell is that thing?" Khal’s eyes widened when he saw how a creature formed out hundreds of smashed corpses, representing something he has never seen sitting on a pile of corpses, its arms which also functioned as legs were picking up corpses one after another before placing and gluing them onto its body.
"Damn that thing is ugly," Khal mumbled and without hesitation disintegrated the creature into ashes with his Hell Blaze.
Then, once the creature died Khal quickly walked over and consumed the floating essence, turning it into his Body Essence. However, when he finished consuming his eyes snapped wide open almost as if he just suffered a great shock of some sort!
"This... No way..." feeling speechless, Khal felt he was hallucinating this quickly opened his Cultivator Status to check something.
And to his utter disbelief, what he first believed was only a wild guess turned out to be reality!
"My Body Essence... It has grown by ten thousand... units..." Khal mumbled in a low voice as even himself failed to accept what he has just seen was the truth.
However, when he heard how Nova’s childish chuckle appeared in his ear he had to realize he was really not hallucinating and his Body Essence truly have increased by an entire 10,000 units!
10,000!!!!
What did it mean? It meant he literally hit the jackpot with this place!
Although 10,000 units didn’t seem to be a lot when one considered that Khal once had way more than that, above 200,000 units, if one thought about just how easy and fast did he acquire that 10,000 units and just how long will he remain in this place known as the Corpse Lands, one had to realize he was in a literal gold mine!
An essence mine to be more exact, where he could farm as much essence as he could without breaking even a single drop of sweat!
’So this was what you have meant when you said golden opportunity.’ Khal thought in his heart as he went and killed another creature with a single wave of his hand, immediately increasing his Body Essence with an extra 10,000 units!

’Handsome over there?’ Khal felt puzzled but feeling a gaze on his skin he shifted his head toward a specific direction only to see who know since when Hale floated in the far distance above a huge pile of corpses, his face holding a delighted smile.
Khal was shocked to see Hale, but his shock quickly turned into gratitude as he realized Nova was indeed right. If it were not for Hale, he would be only allowed ti be in this place for only a single day which meant he would be able to increase his essence only for a single day instead of three!
However, when Khal recognized this fact and wished to bow to show his gratefulness, he had to discover that at some point in time Hale once again vanished into thin air almost as if he wasn’t even there in the first place!
Hence, the only thing Khal could do was to sigh and say a quiet ’thank you’ before quickly continuing his hunt.
Time passed quickly, and an entire day passed in a blink with Khal killing creatures as if they were lambs and increasing his Body Essence to heights which before he never dared to dream about!
Just under a single day, Khal’s little over 90,000 Body Essence skyrocketed above the sky and through the stars, reaching the 7 seven digits and surpassing it at the very same time!
Yes, his Body Essence indeed transcended beyond 1,000,000 units under a single day, allowing him to feel as his whole body was filled to the brim with essence!
Of course, he knew that was only a sensation and he will be able to increase his Body Essence even further, but still, at this very moment, he was feeling as if he was overflowing with strength and could easily punch an entire planet into dust with a single fist if he wished to!
"This is nuts," Khal mumbled with a visible grin as he raised both hands before his face and clenched them into tight fists, resulting in his bones cracking and the air around his fists tremble gently, something which a day ago was an impossible feat for him!
