Chapter 422: Corpse Lands
"S-Sect Master... What should we do now?" inside Moon Sect and on top of a small silver hill, all the Elders stood straight around a golden halo which projection, strangely, at this moment was pitch black.
And it was not only for them but all the disciples in the sect and all the being throughout the Second Realm too! Everyone that watched Khal’s fight with Cagrown and witnessed how he killed him now either sat or stood with a stupefied expression on their face and stared with widened eyes at the black projection in front of them!
"This makes no sense! Why did everything suddenly go black? Although it is obvious Elder Khal has broken one of the tournament’s rules, why can’t we see what is happening?" an Elder having a long black hair tied into a ponytail with a hairpin that had the shape of a rabbit asked, her complexion at this moment rather anxious and weird.
"Everyone, calm down." suddenly, just as all the Elders were on the verge of going into a frenzy Senior Lin’s calm voice swept through the air, silencing everyone down in an instant!
"Sect Master... We..."
"Don’t worry. I am well aware and can understand your feelings at this moment. As a fact, I am no exception either." Senior Lin sighed as she gestured for everyone to sit back down which at every Elder obeyed without a word.
Once everyone was sitting Senior Lin shifted her gaze at the golden halo and said, "In the past, there have been numerous Realm Tournaments and events similar to that, and almost all the time the rules were the same, thus I can make you all assured Khal is still alive."
"Huh? H-How so?" Elder Lane asked with slightly widened eyes, but from the way how his shoulder slumped and how his eyes brightened, it was obvious that he felt a slight relief.
And apart from him, all the Elders looked the same, a few of them even letting out a small sigh of relief.
Senior Lin silently examined everyone’s expression in front of her before pointing her slim and delicate index finger at the halo and said, "While that halo is still here, it means Khal is still alive. However, if it happens to vanish without Khal getting brought back to the sect, well... You all know the answer to that already."
All the Elders exchanged glances with each other and although scarcely nervous, they felt at ease deep in their hearts as at the very least for the time being they knew Khal was fine and his life was not taken away!
"Then let’s hope for the best." Elder Rene nodded, but just as he wished to close his eyes and take a deep breath an individual that was not an Elder appeared at the bottom of the hill, surprising him and all the Elders greatly.
The individual, however, was a Core Disciple one that had high potential in the sect, so none of the Elders said a single word and waited for the young man to speak.
"Sect Master. I apologize, but we have an urgent matter that requires your immediate presence."
Confused, Senior Lin asked the disciple a few questions, but when she heard the details her expression changed, and quickly stood up.
"Elder Rene and Elder Shiu, the two of you will come with me. As for the rest of you, go and tighten the security around the sect!" Senior Lin said quickly in an urgent voice and even before she could have gotten an answer vanished from her spot.
This surprised all the Elders, but as they knew Senior Lin’s was never this nervous before they quickly snapped out of their dazes in a blink and vanished from their spot, doing exactly what they had been just told.
Meanwhile, somewhere in an unknown location, on a planet where everything was deep crimson and where the air was filled with the foul smell of blood, three figures emerged out of a small space crack.
"So this is the so-called Corpse Lands? Truly deserves its name." Khal standing between the two Supreme Existences as if they were normal beings looked around with an awestruck expression as he exclaimed his thoughts.
’This brat!’ Nefia’s mouth twitched several times when she saw how casual Khal was acting in her presence, but as she remember who the third person among them was she decided not to say a single word.
Instead, she crossed her arms before her chest, inevitably raising both of her bosom slightly higher, and said, "Then, you will remain here for three days and night. After that, you will be teleported back to your sect, or at least if you will remain alive until then."
"Haha!" Hale on the side hearing Nefia’s words couldn’t help but let out a gentle chuckle, finding her last statement pretty funny.
’...’
Nefia’s face became red when she heard how Hale began to laugh and just like a little girl who suddenly got caught on something very embarrassing she lowered her head and remained silent, her beautiful face slowly becoming redder and redder.
"Well then, I wish you the best of luck." after laughing for a while Hale smiled at Khal, and giving a sideways glance at Nefia he waved his hand and vanished into thin air.
Noticing as Hale has gone away, Nefia finally was able to raise her head and take a deep breath before her complexion became ice-cold once again and with a chilling look glanced at Khal. However, because she was at least smart enough to realize that there was some kind of special connection between Khal and Hale, she decided to just sneer and walk back into the space crack from where they have just walked out.
Khal watching as he remained alone put both his palms on his waist and took a deep breath before letting out a great sigh that perhaps was loud enough to be heard even a hundred meters away.
"And now what?"
