Chapter 408: Secluded Cultivation
When Khal heard from Logan that there will be a tournament where the winners could compete with each other for several prizes which included a peak Celestial Grade Martial Technique, the first thought he got was that it was useless.
After all, currently, he possessed 10 Power Cores, each having different powers and literally stronger than any Martial Technique in existence in the Second Realm, thus from his point of view, it was only a waste of time and energy to compete for something that for him was useless.
However, when he thought about how a single Celestial Grade technique was capable of granting any being seemingly inhuman and almost heaven-defying powers, and that soon his friends together with Liza will ascend to the Second Realm, he felt it would not be a bad idea to acquire something that could make them extremely strong and unrivaled!
Furthermore, if he joined this Realm Tournament, wasn’t it equal to showing that the Human Race was no longer weak and pathetic? After all, it is only a matter of time before everyone in the First Realm learns the truth about the Tenth Cultivation Stage, hence more and more humans will ascend with full strength and power!
And once that happens, humans won’t be weak and pathetic to whom everyone looks down on with disdain any longer, but they will be a race that perhaps because of their unique blessing everyone will fear!
And who knows, maybe it was also possible that the Human Race in the future can ascend heights that in the past no one ever was capable of reaching!
That is why when Khal thought about all this, he realized it wouldn’t be a bad idea to show off a little before everyone, since that way none of the races would dare to harm them, much less him, as easily as if they were just a piece of trash!
Logan, although being together for a short duration, somehow seemed to understand the thoughts of Khal, thus he quickly began to tell everything about this Realm Tournament he has known so far.
Khal and Senior Lin listened to Logan’s explanation in silence, and it turned out that this Realm Tournament will begin next month and is separated into 5 groups with each group containing beings with the same Cultivation Base.
This meant, in the first group only beings with the Awakened will be present, in the second group only the Body Refiners, in the third only the Body Temperer, while in the fourth and fifth group just the Limit Breakers and Ascenders can take part.
Naturally, there was no rule which stated that beings in a lower group cannot join those higher, meaning a Body Temperer cannot join the group where only Limit Breakers were, but that would be similar to attempting suicide!
As for beings joining a group which contained others with a Cultivation Base much lower than theirs... That was strictly prohibited and anyone that was caught on doing so as several treasures and items could hide one’s Cultivation Base from others will be eliminated from the tournament without question while also being severely punished afterward!
"I see, and what about the event? What kind of competition will the tournament be about?" once Logan finished talking, Khal decided to ask.
"As far as I know, it will be an Elimination Tournament wherein every round your opponent will be chosen randomly. The winner goes to the next round while the loser gets eliminated." Logan replied with a calm expression.
"And what about the rules? Except for the ones you have already stated?"
"We were not told everything, but the creature that told us about the tournament said that during the fight everything is allowed, including killing or using sly means to force the enemy to give up." Logan said with a solemn gaze before quickly adding, "Though, it was also said that if one of the parties declares that they have lost, but death still occurs, the winner will get eliminated too."
"As for the details, not even we were told so except what I have told you already, I know nothing else."
"Understood." Khal nodded and after standing up he said, "Then it is decided. I will join this Realm Tournament."
"Are you sure about this?" Senior Lin asked with a small frown, "I mean if you decide to join it will be akin to..."
"Yeah, I am well aware of that." Khal nodded and added, "Though, don’t you think it would be good to obtain a peak Celestial Grade Martial Technique while also showing the whole Second Realm what we are capable of?"
Senior Lin opened her mouth to reply, but once she realized Khal was indeed right she closed it back and remained silent.
"Then, if my guess is correct, you will join the last group? You will compete against beings on the Ascender Stage?"
"Not entirely." Khal shook his head and after showing a smile he said, "In one month, I not only will join the Realm Tournament, but I will also break through my bottleneck and become an Ascender!"

"Don’t look at me like that! You look as if you are watching an idiot. That kind of hurts me." Khal sighed with a bittersweet smile once he saw how Senior Lin stared at him.
"Because I really am watching an idiot!" Senior Lin expressed her thoughts once she heard Khal’s words, feeling a slight hint of annoyance as she felt this time Khal was truly arrogant.
"Well, I wonder if you will say the same thing after a month." Khal shrugged and after exchanging a few words with Logan, he turned around and walked away.
"Where are you going now?" upon seeing that Khal was ready to leave, Senior Lin stood up with a somewhat complicated look.
"I have already told you, I am gonna break through my bottleneck and become an Ascender. Naturally, for that to happen I need to cultivate, thus I will do just that. So I would prefer it if you don’t disturb me while I’m cultivating."
"You... You will go into a secluded Cultivation?" Senior Lin asked, feeling as though she was listening to a joke of some sort.
"If you want, you can call it that way, yeah." Khal nodded and without waiting for a reply vanished into thin air, leaving behind Senior Lin and Logan.
Though, Logan didn’t hesitate for too long either as he also stood up and after adjusting his shirt he put his hands into his pockets and said, "Well, I think it is time for me to go too. It was a pleasure to meet you."
And just like that, both Logan and Khal vanished in a matter of a few seconds, leaving Senior Lin behind with a rather funny and dumbstruck complexion.
