Chapter 407: Realm Tournament?
Inside the middle of the Grotto Lake, Khal stood in the brownish liquid with only his head visible when suddenly his eyes opened.
"Urgh... Fuck, I totally forgot about this." Khal’s face contorted into an unpleasant grimace once the unpleasant and almost torturing itchiness reached and assaulted his consciousness.
[A week has passed, you are free to leave.]
"Thanks," Khal mumbled quietly and without wanting to waste even a second more in that hell pit he quickly climbed out of the pond and stood at the edge naked.
"Tsk... And how should I clean myself?" Khal seemed to be slightly angry when he saw that there was no towel or item around with which he could clean and dry his body.
"I guess I have no other choice," Khal said quietly to himself and with his Devil Fangs in hand, waved his hand, immediately engulfing himself in a dense whirlwind which quickly sent the swampy liquid from his flying into the distance.
"Much better." Khal nodded with satisfaction and quickly dressed up, but just as he was about to put the robe on fully he froze motionless as what came into his sight once he turned around was a figure covered in brownish liquid!
"Monster!" Khal shouted with shock and summoned his Moonshadow to kill the beast that appeared behind him out of thin air, but even before he could have swung his weapon the beast raised its hand and quickly wiped the mud away that covered its face.
"Eh? S-Senior Lin?" Khal’s eyes widened when he recognized the cold and indifferent stare of Senior Lin and slowly lowered his hand while also sighed with relief, "And here I thought it was a monster, but alas, it was only you."
Senior Lin’s brows’ twitched when she heard what Khal said and hissed, "You little rascal... Do you perhaps wish to dive into that pond for another week?"
"I would like to miss that opportunity," Khal said without hesitation as he put his weapon away.
"Hmph! Thought so." Senior Lin snorted coldly, but while she showed an unpleasant facade, deep inside she looked deeply shocked.
’Did he really resist the Grotto Lake’s curse for an entire week as if he was just standing in normal water?’
Although Senior Lin was not present personally, as the Moon Grotto was under her power she naturally had several means to supervise what happened inside it, thus she was able to see and check on Khal anytime when she wanted.
However, the real reason why she said Khal she would immediately know if he ever left the pond was not only because of that but because she was pretty sure he would fail to withstand the turning properties the Grotto Lake had as not even she, a peak Ascender Stage existence failed to remain in the pond for more than five days!
At first, she just wished to teach Khal a lesson to learn he should obey the rules with greater caution and respect, but unfortunately, her plan failed, and miserably at that!
Not only did Khal succeed with remaining in the Grotto Lake for an entire week, but he even did it as if he just stood in an ordinary pond!
In the beginning, Senior Lin thought Khal must have used some unique ability or skill to protect his body from the Grotto Lake’s curse even though the Grotto Lake was able to nullify almost all the abilities inside it, but when she used one of her Martial Technique to check if he was using any dirty tricks or abilities, she had to realize he was not!
This drove her almost crazy inside, but as she knew if she would do anything that would make Khal’s punishment any worse for no apparent reason, that would only ruin her reputation as the Sect Master.
Therefore, no matter how much she hated to accept it but Khal was truly a freaking monster who couldn’t be punished by normal means.
’Just you wait... Next time I will come up with something even worse!’ Senior Lin promised herself in her heart and after taking a deep breath she said, "Let’s go. There is someone who wishes to talk with you."
"Huh? Someone? Who?" Khal was curious to hear the person’s name, but Senior Lin just remained silent and waved her hand, quickly teleporting both him and her to a different location.
"Finally, I thought you will never arrive."
Just as Khal looked around to see where he was, suddenly a voice he was way too familiar with appeared from his side, immediately attracting his attention.
"Logan? You were able to ascend this fast?" Khal was pleasantly surprised when he saw Logan’s figure in his unique but casual set of clothes, looking like someone who had just come home from a vacation.
"Well, thanks to you we were able to reach the Tenth Cultivation Stage pretty fast and ascend sooner than anticipated."
"We?" upon hearing that word, Khal’s eyes lit up as Liza’s image popped up in his mind.
Logan naturally understood the look on Khal’s face thus quickly smiled and said, "Not her, but Bazz."
"Oh... I see..." a hint of disappointment appeared in Khal’s eyes but soon he regained his composure and asked, "And where is he? I can’t see him around."
This time it was Logan’s turn to change his complexion and with a somewhat awkward smile, he said, "Well, long story short, after we ascended and luckily appeared on the same planet, we met this guy next to our ascension pond where he mentioned this approaching Realm Tournament which allows anyone to participate with any kind of Cultivation Base. Furthermore, from what I have understood from this man’s explanation, the winners will receive powerful Martial Techniques according to their Cultivation Base and liking! One could even obtain a Peak Celestial Grade Martial Technique!"
"Realm Tournament where anyone can participate no matter what their level of cultivation and strength is? And even a Peak Celestial Grade Martial Technique?" Khal raised a brow before a mysterious smile crept its way onto his face and said, "Tell me more about this... Realm Tournament, please."
