Chapter 409: Achieving the Impossible!

What did the word Secluded Cultivation mean?

Maybe, for those beings at the First Realm it was a concept that never arose, but throughout the Second Realm and above it, the meaning of Secluded Cultivation held quite a deep meaning. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Secluded Cultivation was a type of cultivation where any being that suddenly reached his or her limit on the path of cultivation, meaning they could no longer progress any further through ordinary standards, decides to go into closed-door cultivation where they solely focus on breaking their bottleneck while ignoring everything else.

As a fact, the stronger one became and the higher Realm one reached, such occasions where one was forced to go into Secluded Cultivation only became more and more frequent!

However, one only went to Secluded Cultivation when they indeed reached a seemingly unsurpassable barrier in their cultivation and not whenever they met with an unusually harder to surpass bottleneck.

After all, throughout one’s cultivation, one meets with tens if not hundreds of barriers, each thicker and harder to break than the other one, but with special treasures or items, these bottlenecks could be surpassed with relative ease. However, barriers that prevent a cultivator to progress any further for months or even years were very few and appeared rarely, thus it was no surprise to see Senior Lin so shocked after hearing that Khal was going into Secluded Cultivation.

Furthermore, knowing just what kind of monster Khal truly was and what a genius he really was when it came to cultivation speed, the shock and disbelief Senior Lin felt at the moment only deepened instead of alleviating!

"This... He must be kidding, right?" Senior Lin snapped out of her daze once she saw how both Khal and Logan vanished, and without wasting a single second she appeared several hundreds of meters away high in the air.

"Right?" Senior Lin mumbled quietly, but when she saw how Khal entered his residence without coming out even after an entire day her pretty face turned stupified.

"He can’t be serious. No, there is no way he was serious about what he said. He must have just joked." Senior Lin continued to mumble, but when 2 days have passed in a blink without any sign of Khal leaving his residence she sigh and had to admit Khal was not joking.

He was truly attempting to become an Ascender and in less than a month at that!

"Argh... My head is hurting... Maybe I should just take a little rest. Yeah, a good bath would definitely make my aching and tense body loosen up a tiny bit." Senior Lin massaged her forehead gently with a deep sigh and after taking one final glance at the building below her feet she just shook her head helplessly and vanished into thin air.

From then on, time seemed to fly by with speed as fast as a bullet and in a blink, a little less than a month have passed, indicating that it was finally time for Khal to come out of his Secluded Cultivation and sign up to the Realm Tournament.

"Sect Master... Do you think he succeeded?" outside Khal’s residence Elder Rene stood beside Senior Lin while behind and next to him the rest of the Elders were standing, each holding a rather puzzled complexion.

Naturally, each of them heard about the news from Senior Lin about Khal attempting to become an Ascender, but during that time they didn’t really believe it, some even laughing at it.

However, when they saw how strange fluctuations broke out from the building in the Core area of the sect which was supposed to be Khal’s residence, those that previously laughed and didn’t believe now had any choice but acknowledge the fact that Khal was indeed trying to break the threshold between the Fourth and Fifth Cultivation Stage!

As they were all peak Limit Breaker beings who did everything to break the barrier in their cultivation path knew perfectly well what those fluctuations coming from Khal’s residence truly meant and was!

"I can hardly believe this... Is he really a human?" Darla who was among the members of the Elders mumbled with the same dumbstruck complexion, her slim and delicate fingers next to her perfect figure trembling slightly from both fear and excitement.

Yes! Excitement! Perhaps in the eyes of others that Khal was trying to achieve with seemingly great success was nothing but a feat no one else could active ever again, but for her, it was a beam of light she could look at and strive for to catch and maybe even surpass as she was the type of soul which always loved to compete!

As for the part where she felt fear, it was only a natural emotion that anyone in her current place would feel once they realize that the one being on the verge of becoming an Ascender was no one else but a human boy who was not even 20 years old and who only needed less than 1 month to show signs of breakthrough into the Fifth Cultivation Stage!

Just the sheer thought alone of what kind of monster he could become if he continues to proceed on with this kind of cultivation speed of his was chilling and made Darla feel slightly scared of what the cultivation world will become in the future.

’Hope he is smart enough to hide this terrifying talent of his away from others or things will become pretty ugly pretty soon.’ Darla thought in her heart, completely oblivious about the fact that Khal was planning to do the complete opposite of what she just wished for.

Time ticked by in silence and soon after 2 entire hours the foundations finally stopped, making Darla, all the Elders, and Senior Lin hold back their breaths in fear their breaths will alter the results accidentally.

And just after a few seconds...

BAM!

A powerful ripple quickly broke out of Khal’s residence, forcing those with a weaker Cultivation Base to took several steps back and raise their hands before their faces!

"It... Did it work? Did he succeed?" The question that everyone wondered about was asked out loud by Elder Lane, but it was not long before his and everyone else’s question was answered as the door that led the way into the building opened and Khal walked out with calm but confident steps.

And just as they believed it deep inside but were still stubborn enough to accept it, Khal now stood before them with a straight and strong posture, his whole being covered in an invisible aura that felt rather heavy just to the look alone!

That aura, naturally, was the aura of someone who successfully took the final step and finally became an Ascender!
