Chapter 184: Hi

If the statistics are boring, you have got the wrong numbers.

But Zane didn’t find the statistics boring and still managed to connect to the wrong person.

Well, he didn’t know if the person was wrong.

He simply used his Resonance on the crystal and as it turned green, Xavier was proud.

In his happiness, he shouted:

"You finally did it."

But they didn’t know that when the crystal turns green, it means there was someone on the other side.

So Xavier’s words reached the other side as well.

"Did what?"

A man asked from the other side and Zane’s eyes widened.

He shut his mouth so as to not let the man know who he was.

He was afraid his voice would be recognized.

"Who is it? Speak. Did you find that shit?" The other side asked.

Zane couldn’t identify the voice as the voice came out differently from the crystal. Much on the hoarse side rather than clear.

Wait.

Zane’s eyes lit up.

He brought his mouth closer to the crystal.

Xavier’s eyes widened.

He shook his head rapidly to stop his friend from speaking.

But Zane, he had already made up his mind.

"Hi." He said.

Xavier slapped his face.

Everyone else gulped and Zane waited for the next words with sweat on his face.

"Don’t hi me! I am not your friend!"

The other side was angry.

Jammy crushed his cigar and came beside Zane.

He went to his ear and whispered:

"It might be Leon himself. I also contacted him like this. It seems the crystals he distributed are connected to only his crystal. No one else."

Zane nodded.

But he had yet to find out if the other side got to know that the one who said hi to them was Zane Atlas himself.

"If you don’t have any worthwhile information, stop talking. I am disconnecting it." The other side said.

Zane sighed in relief.

The man on the other side didn’t recognize Zane. But neither could Zane recognize if the talking man was Leon or not.

Disconnecting the call seemed right but Zane decided to play along a little. He might get some information.

"No, sir. I have information. But I will only tell it to sir Leon. Not anyone else." Zane spoke, his voice lighter and afraid. As if he was running away from something.

"I am Leon. Speak."

Zane looked at Jammy.

Jammy nodded.

"Yes. I am now sure it is Leon." Whispered the janitor.

Zane bit his lip and said to the crystal:

"How should I believe you? What if you are that filth acting like sir Leon? I won’t share such crucial information without any proof."

Zane asked for the confirmation. He didn’t take Jammy’s word for it. He would check it himself.

"Are you out of your mind? I am sitting inside my house and talking with you. How can I be that filth? He can’t even step ten kilometers around my house radius. Give me information now and if it turns out to be right and crucial, I will pay you so much your wife will suck your dick everyday."

Zane glared at the crystal.

But glaring won’t do him any good.

"What is dick?" Milo asked in a low voice and that’s why Zane glared.

The gutterborn gestured to Tesla and Tesla nodded.

He talked to Milo and Zane hoped Tesla doesn’t say anything worse than what Leon had said.

But the good thing in this was Zane was sure of it now.

The man on the other side was really Leon Bronzers. No one else would dare to promise something in the name of Leon other than Leon himself.

"Speak!" Leon shouted.

"Yes. Yes. So the information is..."

Zane paused.

I don’t know what to say.

He looked at Jammy and whispered:

"I have no information to give."

Jammy looked left and right.

"Tell him Zane Atlas has piles."

"Yes. The information is– no way I could say that!"

Zane almost shared the false information.

"Stop wasting my damn time!" Leon yelled.

Zane gritted his teeth.

He ran his mind for any kind of information that would also justify being crucial.

But nothing came to his mind except the latest plan he discussed with everyone.

"Speak!" Leon shouted once more and this time, Zane did it.

"Screw this." He brought his mouth closer to the crystal and said:

"A Flamekeeper named Horum has the relic. Zane Atlas is trying to find the man."

Gasps rang out.

Leon was among them as well.

"Are you sure of this?" Leon asked.

Zane bit his lip.

"I can’t talk anymore. That traitor bitch is coming here. I have to run. Ahnnghh! Don’t kill me-"

CRACK!

Zane crushed the crystal.

"What the hell did you do?" Draxus erupted.

"You spoiled your own plan!" Xavier did the same.

"Why did you call me bitch?" Hena had other problems.

"Why did you break the crystal though?" Jammy asked normally.

"Er... who is Leon Bronzers again? I kind of forgot." Tesla asked something else entirely.

"What is piles?" Milo wanted more knowledge.

Zane was bombarded with questions and he could only raise his hands.

"Hear me out."

Everyone had glares for him except Milo and no one would believe that Zane was a leader of all of them.

"You better explain yourself." Draxus said.

Zane inhaled a deep breath.

"First of all, I panicked."

"You could have disconnected it."

"I don’t know how to do that. I used my Resonance, it connected to Leon. What was I supposed to do if not talk?"

"You could have stayed silent. You could have crushed the crystal. There were millions of things you could have done!" Xavier said.

"Yes. You are right. But listen, this is also good for us."

"How?" Everyone asked.

"Now Leon will be busy."

"No shit. He will find Horum, take the Relic and you will be punished for stealing." Xavier laid out the future events.

But Zane shook his head.

"Leon will first try to confirm the news before going after Horum. I told him Zane Atlas is finding Horum. So he will try to confirm whether Zane Atlas is really finding Horum or not. It will take him time to find that and if we are careful, Leon will never know whether Zane Atlas is really looking for Horum or not."

"What if he confirms it and starts finding Horum as well?" Jammy asked.

"Then there is only one thing we can do."

"What?" Everyone asked and Zane simply shrugged.

"We must find Horum before him."
